    Thanks for this quick comparison. I have a Miata but I agree. Slightly tucked in with the 20’s on the focus looks perfect. I’m gonna do that look as well.

    WARNING : The use of lubricants and anti-sizing compounds ( 2:18 ) on the threads of the wheels studs or lug nuts can cause a high degree of over-torquing!

      How come? And how badly

      @@mrsluigi9478 A lot. Using anti-sieze or grease etc on wheel studs reduces friction between the threads of the studs and lugs (or nuts). So when that torque wrench clicks at 80 lbs, it might actually be the equivilant of 120-145+ without lube. That's a lot of force punching into the aluminum and a lot of pull on the lugs. And when it comes to wheel spacers like this, you want to use Loctite on the threads, somewhat the opposite of anti-sieze. The obvious caveat to Loctite is that it's a secondary level of safety that will prevent the spacer nuts from walking out on their own. The less-spoken aspect of the Loctite is that although it will increase the static breakaway strength of the nut from the lug, it also provides a seal when cured, preventing moisture from settling in between the threads so corrosive bonding between the nuts and lugs will be far less that running dry.

      @@SurrealKillcam it could be a little more than 80 but not as much over as using grease or anti-sieze. Some wheel adapters come with a single use Loctite pack, some don't but recommend Loctite Red. Personally I prefer blue.

    Hi, what is the ET of the wheels you are testing the spacers for?

    What about using spacers with ford performance wheels? 15mm or 20mm will fit?
    I see on ford performance wheels that it has no “room” like oem SF wheels.

    Can I torque them down with a regular ratchet, or do I need to actually torque it to a certain amount?

      Wheel spacers should be torqued down to the same spec as your wheels.

    Thank you for sharing. I am planning to place similar wheel spacers on my 2018 Ford Fusion SE. I noticed that your wheel studs stuck out from the holes on the spacer. I have viewed several videos that say that it is bad for your wheel studs to stick out for the wheel spacer, because it keeps the wheel from sitting flat on the wheel spacer. Was that an issue you experienced? How did you get your wheel to sit flat against the wheel space even tough your wheel studs were sticking out from the wheel spacer?

    • @seanclarkmv
      @seanclarkmv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many wheels have cutouts on the back that allow the original studs to protrude out further that the mounting surface. Check the back of your wheels to make sure yours have cutouts.

      I also have ford performance wheels 19x8 and with 15mm or 20mm the back of the wheel itself does not have enough room for the studs to properly flush the wheel against the spacer.
      Should use 25mm at least

    I feel like the factory studs are sticking out too much through the spacer for the wheel to sit flush on the spacer itself. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Should be grinding down those factory studs before mounting the wheel.

    I have had a bad experience with spacers before, maybe because they were too wide (25mm), it damaged my rear drive shaft and it caused a wobbly ride, do you think that driving with spacers on a rough street like the freeways of Texas a good idea? I was thinking about adding spacers on a 19x8.5 wheels with 35 offset to be able to add a wide body kit for my ST.

      DUMBEEZY yes, when you hit a small pot hole or drive in bad road over time it can bend your wheel bearing and you’ll have to change them

      Buying the wheels with the correct offset will save you money in the long run if you drive on roads like that.
