Read similar on a South African website. Driver is an ex-cop and passenger's 4th day on the job. There was pics of the vehicle they were in and it was a modified Toyota Hilux or Land Cruiser. Given the attacking vehicles were a similar size it makes his driving even more impressive. There's new front facing footage been released. I'll try and post the link.
This guy Leo was a Police sniper and tactical trainer and this happens 5/7 times a week in South Africa because of the economy and it’s a Land Cruiser crew cab pick up they were in
Check out the after incident report and ballistic analysis from ArmorMax the company that did the modification. P.S. That modification costs as much as the vehicle itself. The Land Cruiser is already a heavy vehicle, add the armor and it's 1.5 times heavier. The left front weel was hit, thus it was even more difficult to maneuver add the run flat wheel and thar beast weights more than an average house in South Africa.
Keep up the amazing work boys, and for Ben, it'll do you the world of good talking about your experiences in the job mate. That rucksack is getting lighter with every video, don't forget that. You're a top fella, shame I never met you through work Ben, but I'm Lancs Police not WYP. Certainly wouldn't mind meeting for a pint if you're ever over Blackpool way x
The passenger was clearly scared but he kept it together and didn't freak out or start committing verbal diarrhea. He performed the tasks assigned to him by his leader to the best of his ability.
Currently live in SA, originally from the UK, unfortunately these things are a daily occurance, hijackers often have access to military grade firearms and in many cases C4, plenty of videos in Johannesburg where G4S CIT vans have the rear compartments blown off with explosives, whenever I drive near a CIT van I always leave a 20m gap when in traffic. Love the videos! Stay safe 🚨🚨
Goes from Touring car driver to Rambo in one shift. He genuinely looks angry that they are interfering with his job, he's the real badass here and i'd say the would-be robbers had a lucky escape!
Mother McCreedy! We all like to imagine we would be cool under such circumstances, but seeing how I react when the toast pops up I will never be that cool! Lol stay safe Sir, you are a legend.
In an interview Mr Leo the driver and ex special forces said that Lloyd the passenger handled the situation well by remaining calm. This is not the police bro this is Fidelity guards in South Africa their job is way more dangerous.
Theres a dashcam video pointing forward as well that got released, its a lot easier to see whats happening. From what I've heard the passenger was only on day 4 of the job and the driver is ex special task force and the robbers had some kind of signal jammer. So the passenger was just following what the driver was telling him to do and trying to make sure the call went through to what I assume was probably some kind of backup.
Attempt to call the backup to hear where they are ,the robbers here use signal jammers etc,and there were more than one vehicle trying Rob them, the robbers use explosives to open those vehicles. And when he made the u-turn it was cause the road ahead was probably blocked by the other half of the robbers and Turing around will be better than driving straight into an ambush getting the windscreen shot at will definitely have an impact on his vision of the road. The passenger well that's his 4th day on the job and probably his first attempted heist.
If you watch the subsequent video released, he did a u-turn so he wouldn't end up being ambushed by the white vehicle that overtook him. He headed straight for the other ambush vehicle on the side of the road and side swiped them hence the later shots... Balls of steel!
The driver was definitely doing the work for two, but can't imagine how I'd react in that kind of situation, even with training. Absolutely immaculate response by the driver though.
Unfortunately these guys are not cops and this is not a Cash In Transit Vehicle. The driver is a former SA Special Task Force Member and that is why he knows what to do. The Passenger is just a normal civilian that started this job and only his 4th day on the job and first experience being shot at, and that is the reason why he does not know how to behave or react as this is not something he has been exposed to or trained for specifically. I do believe these companies do not specifically train their employees like they should or like we wish they would and there is not really any police involvement in the employees' training, however I could stand corrected. This passenger was just very fortunate that he got paired up with this guy,I don't think everybody in this job are this fortunate/lucky. This was a Toyota Land Cruiser transporting a large amount of Cell Phones and in SA, Cell Phones to this load can get the criminals a load of money when they sell it and that is why many of these are being robbed on a daily to weekly basis. And as other mentioned already, there is a new video of the outside, where most of the driving can be better understood. I take my hat off to both, as they were both calm enough to do what needed to be done to save themselves. I know many people would say the passenger was useless and I do understand that everybody cannot research each and every video they stumble upon, but knowing a bit more, does help understand the passenger's behaviour and the entire situation better.
Please do a reaction to the full video - there is video footage taken from his dashcam pointing forwards as well as from the back, and a great interview with Leo and Lloyd after the “incident”. This driver is Leo Prinsloo, who was driving an armoured escort vehicle for a cellphones-in-transit vehicle in Pretoria (South Africa) most dangerous city in SA and 4th most dangerous in the world. The video from the back view shows how Leo was veering across several lanes of traffic and using his vehicle as a weapon against the robbers. Leo is ex special police forces and now has his own security training company.
Hats off to you Ben for making me laugh because for one reason or another I’ve not laughed for days and 45 seconds into your video “oh Jesus” anyway I shall press play and finish the video off now. Had to tell you because it’s made my day haha.
I never thaught i would like or respect a police officer or even an ex police officer. But u have changed that , i always saw police officers as sily when they talked about mental or even physical trauma. Simply because they chose to join the force, but nobody asks too go through any of the stuff i have heard you say. I like your honest views and raw emotion in your stories. Respect too u man. Loving the reaction video too. Would also love too see more of them. Keep up the good work mate 👊
I was told by someone who used to live in SA that the perps try and tip the armoured cars over then surround them with burning tyres to smoke the occupants out.
Driver was ex Special Task Force in the South African police and runs his own firearms training company, the other guy... it was only his 4th day on the job! 😬😂
I'm ex RMP. Had a sort of similar contact but only 1 round whilst I was front seat passenger. I shat me pants, undid me belt and hid in the foot well. The vehicle commander asked me to send a contact report through and whack the blues and twos on whilst we had a mob of around 30 trying to overturn our vehicle with a bust window. I obliged on auto pilot and he got us out of the situation. I get how his bud was doing nowt when he can't take any control of the situation
The suspects were using signal jammers and therefore the comms were not working. The experienced ex-special task force in the police asked his partner which was his 4th day on the job at that time I believe to phone for backup on the cellphone. I think the partner handled it quite well for a few days out in the field and his first encounter with danger. From here on out, the partner can learn from this experience and make room for improvement. After all, only so much training and preparation can be done, but nothing beats the real deal in the end. Lastly, it was mentioned that the officers were driving in one of the vehicles that did not have ports for the use of firearms to fire back. The only way was to open the door and fire back. The driver said that he tried to stick to the original plan and that was to use evasive maneuvers. Unfortunately, the vehicle gave in and they had to resort to the last and final step, which was to get out and fire back at the suspects. Fortunately, for the officers nobody was hurt and when they took a stand the suspects aborted their plan and fled.
I think his teammate read the situation correctly. He stayed quiet and did what he was told. He could probably see Prinsloo was fully focused, and that anything he would say or do might be distracting. It is interesting to see that their physiological responses are the same - their eyes are wide and their mouths are open. Prinsloo is visibly breathing harder probably because he is doing some hard driving.
His point of view came from a place ignorance Lloyd the passenger didn't freeze he remained calm. Mr Leo the driver said this in an interview. The vehicle they were transporting the money in had no gun insertions which didn't allow the passenger to shoot. Fidelity guards in South Africa aren't police their job is way more dangerous.
There’s some clips gone up of the dash cam as well. Wild, and where was he hiding that gun!!! Had an old 1.5 diesel saxo (old diesel with like 40bhp) take the guns and the shooting out and it’s basically me trying to get the car up the m5 slip road or any time it had to break the 40mph mark 😅😂
This man is Leo Prinsloo - ex police special task force, his partner is 4 days into the job, they are carrying mobile phones & Leo runs a fire arms training firm & does this as a side job - in interviews he’s a v humble guy but cool under pressure
The front camera footage was just released, the truck that he hit was part of the attack, the truck passed him and then the sedan next to him opened fire. The truck pulled over to the shoulder and a bunch of armed men jumped out, so the driver drove straight at them, thats when the truck tried to pass them again and he struck them.
this "analyst: Police Interceptor Cop" should go there, do a week (yes only 1 week) worth of CIT shifts in and around JHB, Pretoria. video it, then play it here.
Loved the commentary. Can you ring me Mum. Hehehehhehe. CIT in SA is a massive problem. The Driver was already suspicious of vehicles at the start of the Video. This blew up and everyone wanted to know why they don’t call the SA Police. They tend to call No Jack or other CIT operatives to help out. The SA police normally turn up when it’s all over. Ben there is a front view available now. Maybe you could do a week Filming with Anton Koen in SA who run the SA ANPR and High Jack Unit.
i saw that and i was suprised with the drivers reaction and bravery against it even the guy next to him who h e told to load the gun asides the passenger /guard whatever his roll was looking quiet shocked
I presume you've said this for a reaction or to bait someone but all I'm gonna say is training would be upto necessary standard to deal with this. This is in South Africa where these kind of incidents happen every week if not every day. It never really happens in the UK. So your point is invalid. Even if somehow this did happen, I'd imagine with cash in transit there would be armed police involved. These are highly skilled officers, some ex military. Again, proving your point invalid.
@@uilliam6926 no not INVALID my opinion witch I'm I thought I was intiled to. But that's right your not aloud to have an opinion in the today's left world
@@uilliam6926 actually your police would be up to it. Ours aren't thats why the criminals are so brazen and private security is so good made up mostly of the older ex police and military. The police now at best are incompetent and at worst part of the crimes supplying weapons and even taking part in some of these raids.
This happens frequently in SA, and apparently they were carrying mobile phones. Driver made 2 U-turns to come back & try to run over as many gunmen as he could (there's another video that shows the front view as he tries to run them over). Unfortunately, you can't shoot from within a bulletproof vehicle for obvious reasons, so he picked his spot (where he couldn't be flanked) and took the fight to them. Excellent example of an extreme Close Personal Protection situation & remaining in control at all times.
As a South African. It was funny seeing how you can tell the difference in our police force. The past regimes police and the new republics peace officer
Ben what’s the closest you’ve come to a situation like this? I imagine it must have been just as crazy for you with drivers on mobile phones and not wearing seatbelts?
Hey Ben you need too do a reaction too the second one of this where it shows all the allies jumping out and taking down the armed men it’s a cracking watch!
The secondary view shows that this driver actually goes after the assailants! The white truck drives ahead and they get out to jack them but he swerves and tries to run them down! His response was aggression not defence!
Leo prinsloo....he runs an advanced weapeons and dmtactics training ground apparently. There’s another version of this video with outward facing cameras

You're a top fella, shame I never met you through work Ben, but I'm Lancs Police not WYP. Certainly wouldn't mind meeting for a pint if you're ever over Blackpool way x
He’s called Leo Prinsloo and is an ex-member of the Special Task Force for the South African police force
Yes, Leo Prinsloo, I'd just call him sir !
The passenger was clearly scared but he kept it together and didn't freak out or start committing verbal diarrhea. He performed the tasks assigned to him by his leader to the best of his ability.
1:18 He wasn't swerving between cars there. The gunman had hopped out of one of their vehicles and he went to try and hit them at that moment.
Happy Friday Ben and viewers! I really like this format of you reacting to things
Waiting for part 2 when Robi and Josh arrives.
The Cellphone signals were scrambled! No Calverley!
It’s actually 2 cars. The first car which is shooting is the black Audi, the second is a white 4x4
The utmost respect goes to the men and women who deal with these situations on a daily basis, just watching this on video is scary beyond belief!!!!!.
Love the content Ben. I've met you while you where on duty in real life. Stay safe and have an amazing day bro.
Aw friend police friend
@@robthedon5926 🤣🤣🤣
@@robthedon5926 lol
The driver was definitely doing the work for two, but can't imagine how I'd react in that kind of situation, even with training. Absolutely immaculate response by the driver though.
The passenger really made me laugh 🤣 good job driver for getting away
The only people that got away were the crooks
Loving the reacting series Ben 🥰🤍
I'm glad you mentioned the passenger as I was thinking exACTLY what you mentioned ... WTH ? ... Help me, man
I love this channel, I love the reacting videos, and the stories are great to listen to on public transport
Theres a second in car footage front facing. Its even more terryfiying. Great channel thanks ben
Great review Ben that driver had some balls
I never thaught i would like or respect a police officer or even an ex police officer. But u have changed that , i always saw police officers as sily when they talked about mental or even physical trauma. Simply because they chose to join the force, but nobody asks too go through any of the stuff i have heard you say. I like your honest views and raw emotion in your stories. Respect too u man. Loving the reaction video too. Would also love too see more of them. Keep up the good work mate 👊
👍🏻👊🏻
Goodness that is truly frightening. Thank goodness these guys are okay.
The driver is wearing a kevla vest.
Hi Ben. This is in South Africa and cash in transit heists are brutal and frequent. That's what they are doing.
This was just down the road from where I live in South Africa....
The driver (Leo Prinsloo) was an ex South African Special Task Force operator . Now runs his own shooting academy called ‘The Edge Shooting Academy’
Been loving all this content. Much love from Ireland
I’m with you Ben, adult nappy needed 🥴🤣 Very interesting to get your point of view from this 👍🏻
His point of view came from a place ignorance Lloyd the passenger didn't freeze he remained calm.
Definately scary stuff. I think i would have been the same as the passenger if i were in the same situation.
This man is Leo Prinsloo - ex police special task force, his partner is 4 days into the job, they are carrying mobile phones & Leo runs a fire arms training firm & does this as a side job - in interviews he’s a v humble guy but cool under pressure
I really think you should also review the dash cam footage...
See what he's doing.
He actually chased them and tried running them of the road
I heard somewhere it was the passengers 4th day on the job for that company, not 100% sure if that was true or not though
Passenger: I wish I'd taken that MaccyD's job..
this "analyst: Police Interceptor Cop" should go there, do a week (yes only 1 week) worth of CIT shifts in and around JHB, Pretoria. video it, then play it here.
Loving the book and the podcasts Ben👍👍
Loved the commentary. Can you ring me Mum. Hehehehhehe. CIT in SA is a massive problem. The Driver was already suspicious of vehicles at the start of the Video. This blew up and everyone wanted to know why they don’t call the SA Police. They tend to call No Jack or other CIT operatives to help out. The SA police normally turn up when it’s all over. Ben there is a front view available now. Maybe you could do a week Filming with Anton Koen in SA who run the SA ANPR and High Jack Unit.
The South African police are very often involved in crime in SA.
The old guy I heard has been in it over 10 years then the passenger was pretty new
i saw that and i was suprised with the drivers reaction and bravery against it even the guy next to him who h e told to load the gun asides the passenger /guard whatever his roll was looking quiet shocked
Theres another video of this with the front facing dash cam aswell makes it more clear whats going on love the content keep it comeing
Can you imagine if this happened in the UK our police would be crying like baby's
Thanks Ben.
Ayy up Ben I think I would have shit my pants too. Have a good weekend mate stay safe
😂
you need to see the dashcam video that accompanies this
You're looking well Ben, bit of a tan going on there buddy. Aren't those sunbeds bliss 😂😂.
Looking very dappa pal ❤️
They released a different angle today with a description of who he is and what he job role is worth a watch
Where can u watch it?
@@morganpickles5081 it came up on my Facebook today after I'd watched this one last week.
@@paulreed5077 will have a dig n try to find it cheers
I love watching ben Pearson his knowledge on all situations keep it up bro 😎
I don't think it's weird to be silent. Maybe they're concentrating on getting from A to B safely.
That guy driving has some serious balls of steal !!!
Sa cops are savage ! I'm sitting safely in my uk home thanks to all the violence back home. Salute to the cops there
Lloyd the co-driver, was a new recruit. onlly on his fourth day of work in this position. He did great.
He did great? You must have been watching something different to me. He was as much use as a waxwork dummy.
Driver has balls of steel
Cracking channel Ben. Thanks
Leo prinsloo....he runs an advanced weapeons and dmtactics training ground apparently. There’s another version of this video with outward facing cameras
I've seen this video , scary, , not a country to go on holiday. To noisy. Good job guy's, till the next one.
Listening to you reminds me of Karl Pilkington for some reason. 😁
His name is Lee Prinsloo, there's a 40 min interview with him on YT
Absolutely brilliant!! Pointed out lots of interesting things about this video. You're brilliant Ben!!
Yes this happen in south africa on the N4 Pretorius Street crossing in Hatfield, Pretoria. The driver has been identified as Leo Prinsloo is is a former member of the South African Police Service's Special Task Force.
They where in a Toyota Land Cruiser
Sadly this is becoming a very common thing in south africa to hit the high value armour transports
The robbers where in an audi a5 sports back
Leo has done an interview now about what happened and what happens daily
th-cam.com/video/7mZ9hDmmOsA/w-d-xo.html
Amazing driving and how he didn't shit himself is beyond me. Did he get 6 points and a fine for using the phone? 😆
Good rant
I love how Ben always calls the bad guy shitbag
Spot on the driver is ex-police special unit. His partner is 3 or 4th day on the job.
Great video as always done patreon big hugs to you ❤️
The other one looks like it’s his first day x
I saw on another article that it was the passengers 3rd or 4th day on that job 😬😬
There is another view of this video very interesting 👍
Great video ben.
I’ve watched it elsewhere, they said it was a land rover and also a delivery of new mobile phones. We don’t realise how fortunate we are here, thank God.
So what are white South Africans supposed to do?
They were in a Toyota Land Cruiser. The bad guys were in an Audi A5
It was a Land Cruiser the Land Rover did not start its still in their carpark.
