Brother, I got all excited at first thinking that's how the truck came, but those axles you added really make it look "Top Notch". the leaf springs make it look more realistic too. Love the warm white LED's, again, more realistic, great call on those!!! It's just a fantastic looking rig. Any plans to paint the chassis rails and springs black? Hi Derek, a fantastic looking truck, with some really smart upgrades too, especially that drop loop style leaf spring suspension system. So fitting to upgrade the axles to match, along with the extra weights over the rear axle. Best wishes to you and the family 😊

Hi mate love the upgrades. I got my son one of these to mess about with but after 3 weeks the gears are missing now can I just change the gears from plastic to brass (where can I get them from) I seen on the wpl site brass ones for the 180 motor and gearbox but they look different 🤔 or just buy another 180 motor. Hi Scott. Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the 180 motor and gearbox as far as replacing the gears is concerned. The replacement motor and gearbox is very cheap so that would be better than messing around with new gears. But you also run the risk of the same thing happening again. Personally I've upgraded all my WPL's with the two speed gearbox. www.wpl-rc.com/products/dual-speed-gearbox? I prefer this gearbox because it has better torque than the standard boxes. It's a lot better for steep inclines in low gear, and has a nice turn of speed in high gear. It's easy to fit but you will have to upgrade the drive shafts to metal ones as well. www.wpl-rc.com/collections/metal-upgrade/products/wpl-rc-drive-shaft These are good upgrades and improve the performance a lot, and I've been running mine for a couple of years without any problems. Hi Derek, nice find and nice continuation of the mods. I have similar metal upgrades for some unfinished projects. Your truck turned out very nice. I always liked these military crawlers. Do you think the leaf spring suspension works well? Seems to perform nicely on the run portion of your vid. The red caps on the diffs look good👍🏾
Hi Paul. Thank you very much. The truck runs well enough with these metal leaf springs, and they are way better than the stock plastic set up. Plus I really like the scale look of it. That's why I decided to buy it when I saw it. Also coupled with the metal axles they help lower the C.O.G. The hard plastic body makes the RTR a bit top heavy.
That was really nice to see. I have a B16KM, so I can relate to that photo series, I guess you got quite some experience putting those together by now. Nice touch with the warm white LEDs, looks way better than the blueish ones. Poor Indy, ha ha!

Hi Derek, bought my B14 from E-bay too. Watched your video (very good) and bought the same figure you have. I did however manage to leave him with legs! I just cut out some of the floor pan, leaving him with his legs dangling under the cab.

Thank you very much. I had the single speed gearbox (plastic) and 370 motor in my C34KM. It came as stock in the kit. But it struggled up some steeper slopes so I've replaced it with the WPL 2 speed gearbox. The 2 speed has more torque in low gear and it doesn't have any problems getting up them now. Just my personal preference though 🙂👍
No way Derek, you have done a lot of work on this truck since finding it on eBay. I think the shell and the looks of this truck is brilliant mate. That run at the end took my by surprise when the fast music suddenly started and the truck went ripping by. Top stuff matey 👍
Superb upgrades..👍🏻. You've transformed this model from what is close to a kids toy to a quality hobby grade RC. These cheaper RC's do act as a good starting point / template to transform them into something way better. I've seen these up close and all the running gear does leave a lot to be desired.
