Timing is Everything! - Street Photography in London

- Street photography! - I knew i loved it but id never actually took the time to get out and do any!! i mean not really! a few street photographs on holidays but never a dedicated street photography adventure!!
I had a model photo shoot booked in London so decided to time it with that.. This gave me a few hours prior to meeting the model to wonder the streets of London to do some street photography. i had no idea where to go, what to look out for or even what to expect! This made it all the more exciting!
I wanted to travel light, with just a small camera and a small collection of prime lens's. The fujifilm Xf23mm and xf35mm (35 & 50mm Eq) Typical street photography focal lengths. But due to the modeling shoot i couldnt.. wasnt ideal but hey!
I hope you enjoyed my little attempt at street photography and please if you can offer any tips on the subject id glady take them onboard

I agree with Andy Mag. Your best vlog. I loved it, it was so interesting and the images were fabulous. You made me want to go to London and I can't stand the place! Top work mate.
haha thanks so much mate! really loved the day! will be back soon i hope! so much to explore! ill drag you with me one time! :-)
You have a keen eye for street photography and you are right, contrasty black and white is perfect. Nice job Gareth, I look forward to more of your street & landscape photography.
Hey thanks Kevin!! thats hugely appreciated mate!! ill be sure to do it again soon!! was amazing fun!! good to get out of your comfort zone! :-) next vlog this weekend if i sort my self out in time haha!!
I wish I could double like this! The photos are brilliant, they match your enthusiasm of London. Come back soon!
hey Lou! thanks so much! sorry what did you mean by "Double"? so grateful for the kind feedback :-)
Gareth Danks Hi Gareth - it means I wish I could ‘like’ it more than once! It deserves more than just the one thumbs up. I’m looking forward to watching more from you soon
Ohhhhhhh I’m with ya haha. Sorry that makes perfect sense now haha. Thanks Lou 😊👍🏻
Awesome. For your first attempt you took some great shots. so many really good shots to choose from, but I liked Yasmina with the Vespa type bike, the kissing poster, guitarist at 9:47, the guy looking into his camera at 9:38. So many great shots. I love your easy, laid back, friendly style and it shines through just how much you love your craft. I've picked up loads of tips from you already. Great channel, now one of my favourites.
Hey mark. Thank you so much. That’s so kind I’m very Grateful mate. Glad you enjoy. I loved the kissing poster. Made me laugh that one 😊👍🏻
Some nice images here mate, however, one tiny tiny complaint (sorry). The settings details on the images is partially hidden behind the subscribe button. Any chance next time you could move one or the other? Cheers, and other than that keep up the great work.
Ahhhhhhh sorrry that’s TH-cam adding that. I’ll move the info up more next time. Shows ok on my phone tho weird. All screens are different ay ! Thanks for the pointer 😊👍🏻
loved the hat vender shot, beautiful composition and the colors are outstanding!
Thank you so much. Appreciate the kind feedback 😊👍🏻
Gareth Danks my pleasure man, keep up the great work!
Cheers mate 📷
The images at 8:28, 9:40 I liked. What made me chuckle is you drove from wales to shoot a city I live in lol. I'd drive to wales though to shoot it. I knew I was missing a huge subject to shoot and I love street photography but dont get out and do it. I think though for 2020 I will. Cheers Gareth.
Hey thanks mark mate. Yeah haha I adore London but couldn’t live there. Great fun tho haha. Hope you do mate. 👍🏻😊
Very nice with the Cam-Cam video, to get a feel for how the scen looked like when you snapped the shoot. And very nice street photos, inspiring!
Hey thanks Dan! Glad you enjoyed mate 😊👍🏻
Watching this video has restored my desire to do street photography again. I feel so self-conscious about taking pictures that I miss some really great shots. I decided to just give up. But I'll get back at it again
Hey man why you feel conscious..? Give me an example mate. I’ll try n help if I can
Gareth Danks Well it's really that I feel strange taking candid shots. I'm always scared that people will come and confront me. So I've lost a lot of potentially good shots. I need to get over that fear
Ah right ok. Well that’s fine I had that 3 times in this video. (I should have mentioned that!) every time you get that simply act very friendly and agree to delete if they ask. Or offer to Email if they like the pic. I’m more than happy to be approached after taking a pic. As i know by being polite and friendly they’ll be nice back. Take the worry out of it.. by that I mean prepare for prospect. Try shooting blind ( lower the camera to your hip after pre focusing and exposing. Tilt screens are great for that. Hope that helps. 😊👍🏻📷
Wear a hi-vis jacket and look like your official 😂😂
Cracking work mate....you got some great images. Much respect to you for getting photos from random strangers. :-)
Haha. Thanks mate. Had a fantastic day. You should give it a go dude. 😊👍🏻
lol, steady on...let's get the wild camping out the way first! :-)
Haha. Ya darn toot’n! Can’t wait for that mate! 😬
Gonna be epic mate!
Fantastic Images Sir well done , really enjoyed your Street photography , Keep up the Excellent work, Kindest Regards.
You do some killer work , been watching your landscape vlogs now I see you can kill the street game too lol. Awesome stuff bruv , fellow Fuji fam here. Keep doing it! Honestly couldn't pick a fav , they where all good! Love your enthusiasm good stuff.
Ah thanks man! super kind!! thanks for watching!! glad you enjoyed!! :-)
Don’t shy away from people on their phones. It seems like a bummer right now...but in the future It would be interesting to see how invested we were in them at one time. Who knows, if these images are around in 100 years, It could be really cool to see that.
hey Joey.. yeah i get your point but i shoot for me and for now.. :-)
Great video, Gareth...and I appreciate including the little pitfalls along the way throughout the day. Some distractions, some things take longer than anticipated, and, my personal achilles heel, time slipping away a bit. My favorite pic would be Yasmina (sp?) at 6:06 in b+w just as her eyes looked up and across the street. Love the architectural shots, as well.
hey there!! sorry i dont think i saw your comment!! thanks for the feedback! glad you enjoyed the vid! yes Yas did amazing!! very pretty girl! thanks for the comment :-)
Loved the St Pauls reflection shot at 5:13 might try to replicate that as I work near there
Ah cheers tony. Yeah easy shot that. No polariser and it reflects easy. Wait for a bright day 😊👍🏻
Will do thanks again
Been waiting for a video Gareth! Awesome job! Love the one of the little girl by the graffiti wall and the one of the man sitting in front of all the hats. I've been laid up in bed for the last week with severe sciatic nerve pain from a herniated disc. I see you have a bag so please I beg you be careful with your back and lift properly. I'm in good shape, 39 years old and feel like I'm 90! I wish this pain on nobody nor this injury. Again great job! Miss being outside shooting!
AH duuuuude!!!! :-( hope your on the mend now matey!!! that sounds nasty!! back pain is so horrible! i worry as i lift pianos sometimes as i have to photograph them often.. mega heavy!! ill def take your advice mate!! please god youll bounce back soon! thanks so much for the continued support Carlos! :-)
Gareth Danks Pianos!?! What are you The Hulk?! Lol yes please be careful. The last 6 days that I spent in bed I have learned something like 80% of us Americans are walking around with bulging discs they just don't know it because it hasn't hit a nerve yet. I don't know about you guys across the pond but we like to eat here and that doesn't help either! Lol! I'm doing better, went to work today and hoping for a little Milky Way photography this Saturday morning. Keep up the great work mate!
Haha. Yeah my clients think I am! They can be 500kg! Mental heavy! Yeah I’m quite into my fitness so eat well thankfully mate. America is epic for large meals tho! I’d be the same haha. Good look with Your Shoot mate 😊👍🏻
Gareth Danks 500kg! Wow! As long as you're safe with it! Can't wait for your next video! I'll let you know how the shoot turns out!
Hey man how are things. Recovered yet?
Nice work Gareth enjoyed it. I'm sure that was Duggie Wallace the famous street photographer with his Nikon 850. Keep up the good work.
jai sri ram hey man. It was Dougie your right but it was an Olympus om he was shooting. Nice guy. Spoke to Him a bit 👍🏻😊
Hi Gareth, I'm looking at trying some street photography for the 1st time and been a subscriber of yours I knew you had done a long in the past, so watching your vlogs has really given me so ideas of how to approach this kind of photography as I normally do landscape.
hey Daniel! thanks for the comment mate! hope you get to try one day! its a great challenge and very addictive haha :-)
Great video Gareth! And you came away with some awesome photographs! Not sure I could pick a favourite, but I did like the various looking up at skyscrapers shots.
I really liked the inpromptu photo shoot with the guy you met in the subway. Those were great photos. The one at the Tate with that rather large doorway was beautiful.
Hey David! how are things buddy! yeah i loved them!! kind abstract arnt they!! had a great day! recon you should give it a try! :-)
hey Emma! thank you! thats kind of you! i adored the Tate gallery!! need to re visit and spend more time there :-)
Great vlog Gareth, the best image for me was of the lady and man sitting outside the tea shop in Brick Lane. I know that street photography can be tricky so well done for giving it a great go. Thanks for sharing.
Hey rob. Thanks mate. Really enjoyed the day. Glad you liked the vlog man. Gonna be doing more street now. Loved it 😊👍🏻
Gareth Danks. That's great but I'm looking forward to the vlog that follows your epic Instagram pic in the Ogwen Valley!!! This vlogging lark is addictive, I'm up to 6-7 vlogs already and really enjoying being part of the TH-cam community.
haha yeah me too! be up soon! made a good start on them! yeah its addictive but hard work! good luck with your channel! :-)
Thought I replied to that message. Weird. Yeah posting this weekend hopefully! 😊👍🏻
Gareth Danks. That's great, really looking forward to watching it. Landscape Photography, Wild Camping and the Milky Way all in one vlog..... Epic doesn't even come close!
Great clip..I like your style..very natural...& your photos...simply stupendous!!!
Hey Rudy mate. Thanks so much that’s amazing 😂👍🏻
4:40 is a building over your back left shoulder with the steel pipework on the outside of the building. A vertical shot looking right up the corner of that building in black and white looks like it would be spectacular.
Great work mate, you're a natural street photographer, you took some awesome candids there, couldn't pick my favourite. I work there 2 days a week and take it for granted but when I do take time out its great fun just to freestyle around, walking and getting 'lost'! Good thing is theres a bar on every corner so always somewhere to take a break! More of this stuff please Gareth - superb mate!!
Hey Jamie. Thanks for that am amazing comment mate. Much appreciated! I adore London. And yes partly for the pubs haha. Was a fab day. So much to see. Will be exploring more cities for sure 😊👍🏻
My favorite photo was the girl playing the guitar. Thanks for taking us along in London.
Hey mate thanks for the comment! looks like a girls right enough! def a guy tho haha glad you enjoyed mate!
lol. oops!
Great series of black and white. Love the angles on buildings. Well done with the photo shoot.
hey Tom! hope your well mate! thanks so much! i loved them too! very abstract too! thanks for the kind feedback mate!
Gareth Danks yep, very well and busy my vlogs from little Tasmania.
Wow. Is that where you live? 😳
Gareth Danks yep and the very south of southern Tasmania. Next stop Antarctica. Have a look at one of my vlogs. Hint, hint.
Hey man. That’s amazing I had no idea you were so far away mate. Good grief. Ever been over there? I will mate yes. I don’t get much time for youtube annoyingly but I will try and watch your vlogs. Thanks mate. Good luck 😊👍🏻
I think this is 100% your best vlog - amazing work. Next time you go to LDN, check out Dalston, Shoreditch + Hoxton - that's where the hipsters all hang out! Camden is awesome, used to live not too far from there. Your impromptu shoot with that young Johnny Depp lookalike was phenomenal. More street stuff please!
Ah maaaaaaaate!!!! thats amazing! thanks so much!! i had an amazing day!! adored the randomness of it all!! let me know when you wanna do one in Brum! :-)
plaid trousers guy sitting down was my fav. so much attitude. B&W looked great
Pretty cool shots G man! Used to live there once upon a long time ago and watching this brought back some cool memories. So thanks for that and enjoy the rest of your weekend buddy.
hey thanks so much mate!! its a really cool place! HUGE tho haha lots of walking!! :-)
Is that Dougie Wallace at 9:39? Just came across your channel, really enjoy the feel of your content, look forward to your future creations!
Hey thanks so much madison. Very sweet of you. Yes it is! Nice guy! 😊👍🏻
Nice video . Keep the good work going . Was a pleasure to watch . Give some good energy to go out there and shoot
Hey thomas. Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed mate. Glad it’s inspired you buddy that’s great to hear! Hope you get on ok 😊👍🏻
Another great Vlog... really liked the way it started off as street photography and morphed into posed and a bit of architecture! ;-) Streetwise.... favourite is at 9:48 but all cracking... I love London too! Keep up the good work Gareth.
Hey ian!! thanks so much mate!! yeah i hadn't noticed that haha! bit of a fluke! catering for all see mate haha!! glad you enjoyed buddy! appreciate the kind feedback!!
Great video Gareth loved the pictures. I live 18 miles outside London and planning a trip for September when we may get some rain I like to try my hand at wet street photos haven't tried it before. I will be coming to Wales in October have to keep the location a secret as it something to do with the scouts. Love your work keep it up.
Ah hey man. Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed. Hope the weathers kind to you and your scouts in October mate. Thanks for the comment 😊👍🏻
Hi, nice video. You may find that the guy with the old camera and flash at 9.30 was actually Dougie Wallace, the well known (or perhaps not in this case) Scottish Street Photographer. He’s the UK’s response to Bruce Gilden, the well known American street photographer. You may need to google both of them. They have a very novel approach to street photography. Good portrait of him though!
Hey John thanks for the comment mate. Yeah it was dougie I spoke to him for a bit. Nice guy. Few people have recognised him. 😊👍🏻
Gareth Danks Did he show you what he’d been up to? I love his stuff, I just wouldn’t have the balls to do what he does!
Hey Gareth, I cannot say which is my favorite one cos I like the most of the photos you showed but what I like the most about this video is how you introduce some other people or element that me as beginner photography I would avoid.
I also wanted to ask you if you had with you a 50mm or a lens equivalent to 50mm on a full-frame?
I really like the video and if you have more like this I will follow you for sure. thanks for sharing.
hey mate thank you for the comment! yes i believe it was a 50mm eqv i was using.. i used to prefer 50 but now more so the 35.. keep it simple mate! dont pressure yourself and have fun! thats what its all about :-)
@@GarethDanks Sure!! That is what I try, thanks for replying me back. Ill subscribe your channel to see more videos to get some inspiration and tips
Some terrific shots there Gareth, I do love London but don’t get there no where near as much as I’d like.
Hey thanks so much Brian. Thanks for the kind comment. Glad you liked them mate. I love London 👍🏻😊
@@GarethDanks Me too, befote April 2016 id not been since i was a kid witg mt dad, just passing through over, at the time i thought was London Bridge but now know it must have been either Tower or Westminster Bridge in his HGV, how times change. Then not until September this year with a couple of Photo Buddies for an overnight stay. Then i was lucky enough to go to a meeting in Holborn for NHS Blood and Transplant as ive had 4 Kidney Transplants im on a panel for research so got my travel expenses paid for. The meeting finished at 3pm butvthey let me get the 7pm train home so i could at leastchave a couple of hours with my camera.
Sorry for the long comment its just that due to my health issues im unable to work so travelling down to London isnt that easy, hopefully this new train operator has some cheap deals on
Great vlog. Can’t add anything that others haven’t said except I’m going to adopt your idea about the ‘clean’ image particularly with branding. Signage for me can sometimes add to the image but branding does get in the way. How do you set the contrast +2 on the x-pro2?
Hey Gwynne. Thanks so much for the nice comment. If your shooting jpg then it’s in the Q menu. Mine is on the bottom. If you shoot raw it won’t affect the raw file so you’d create it in Lightroom. Hope that helps. Good luck 😊👍🏻
Been down to London 3 times over the last few weeks, like you say you just cant get enough of the place.
Hey scott you ok mate. Yeah it’s a different world. I adore it. Wanna return soon. But figure I need to shoot in other cities too. Thanks scott 😊👍🏻
Bob on!!! Loved it...... What a massive variety of a day!! :-)
HAHA! love it! glad you enjoyed mate!! :-)
Hi Gareth. Get back to the hills mate ! Can't be doing with all those buildings and crowds !! LOL ;) Joking apart, you've clearly got an eye for this genre and your b&w shots are excellent. You certainly looked like you were having fun. Thanks for sharing Gareth.
Hey tim mate! thanks for the continued support!! hugely appreciated! glad you enjoyed!! i had such a fun day! :-)
I live and love it here in London, but still like seeing it through your eyes and personality !
Thanks Gareth.
Hey Gary. Thanks so much mate. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻😊
How to set my camera to get colour tones like yours...?
thing that color not from lightrom or something
i shoot raw and edit in lightroom, Acros R or Classic Chrome :-)
Your work is so Cool! Keep up the good work, I love black & white!
hey JIm! thanks mate! have a good new years :-)
Gareth, love that you are challenging yourself, pushing your own boundaries so to say. Not to mention, how much you love home, ie London. You should stay for longer, esp in the summer, when the city comes to life, esp in the night. Mind you, you’d probably need a break in Wales, just to recharge your juice. Well done. Keep clicking, keep inspiring & be well x ta
Hey Hugo. Thanks mate. Glad You enjoyed the vid. Grateful for your comment mate. I love London but Normally for Work. Nice to have leisurely time there to snap away 😊👍🏻
5:13, 5:29, 5:37, 9:22, 9:27 Your best foto! I did travel in London for my 40years birthday, newer will forget every street London!
Hey thanks so much for your comment. Love that you had a great time in London. I adore it there. So much fun. Thank you 👍🏻😊
Great video and photos. My fav was at 5.14.
Hey thanks John 😊👍🏻
Gareth, what can I say, you have the eye for it ... great shots. I like the way you frame it in the square format. Some images can be setup on the wall diagonally and create diamond shape collage ....
hey mate thanks so much! appreciate the kind feedback! :-)
You definitely have the eye for street photography. your photo's were amazing. I hope you adventure out to do this more.
Hey mate!! thanks so much!! very kind of you!! yes ive tried a few times recently! need to do another shoot soon :-)
Great images and video Gareth, I like B&W images to be contrasty and not 150 shades of grey 🤣 and you've definitely nailed that. I'm just discovering that the Fuji is great for JPG's with minimal or even no editing required with the right settings and this has been a good inspiration for what can be done - thanks!
hey Paul!! very true! and honestly most of these pics are straight from camera!! the colour ones are from the raw but all the bw jpgs were amazing from camera as you said! i adore fuji BW images! especially Acros!
Awesome work G, street photography is my go too style of photography I just love it. Can't pic a fave shot from this vlog they're all bang on, if pushed I'd have to say the shot at 6:08....Great watch mate outstanding footage.
hey thanks so much mate!! very kind feedback as always!! much appreciated! yes she's beautiful! stole the show haha - thanks so much mate :-)
I really love you street photography works. Getting me hooked.
Ah thanks so much. That means a lot to me. Appreciate that 😊👍🏻
Thanks for sharing this great video. It is tooo long since I have been in London the last time :-( (2012)
i loooove london! great fun! thanks for watching mate!
Damn! The guy in the photo on minute 9:40 is Dougie Wallace!!! :D (Also a London based street photographer)
He is indeed. A nice guy too. 😊👍🏻
@@GarethDanks That's so cool!
Dougie Wallace
GD! First time at street photography? Say it isn't so...amazing photos. You really have an eye for it. Keep it up. Thanks for another amazing vid!
haha thanks so much mate! yeah aside trips with the mrs ive never tried it! always wanted to tho! really appreciate the kind feedback mate! :-)
Loved this vis Gareth. i am just getting into street photography have a couple of lens for my olympus a 17mm F2.8 and an ultra wide 7.5 mm F2.0 and a new Chinese brand coming a Kamlan 28mm f1.4 to try. Love the B&W contrasty look. Do you use aperture priority and also BBF. Ive found F5.6 and about 1000s really good on a bright sunny day with an red filter , seems to work well. keep up the good work. Also 3.2 format looks good too.
hey Gill thanks for the comment.. i do use bbf and quite often a priority.. tho if its at night itll most likely be full manual as the camera will often over expose at night :-) thanks for the kind comment x
You inspired me a lot. You give me another perspective of street photography, particularly bw photos. The portrait photo shoot you do, having great lighting. Lets see more of the shootings you like.
Hey man thanks so much. That’s great to hear. I hope to do a similar shoot very soon. Thanks for the kind comment 😊👍🏻
Looked a great if not tiring day out, some amazing photos :) my favourite photo was at 8:30 the 'cool guy' where he is sat on the steps, love how impromptu this was, just from asking directions :)
haha thanks Gale! yes it was random!! super fun tho! i adore that about london! thanks for the kind feedback :-)
Wow amazing images makes me want to get out and shoot some film Covent Garden is worth a visit to especially evening
Thanks so much Jonny. Glad you enjoyed mate
You have a great eye for street photography and composition in general, very inspiring videos.
Hey Rich!thanks mate!! very nice of you! glad you enjoyed! :-)
I was in London This weekend ,also in camden market , how can it be that we have not met ? good pictures an video succes .
haha how funny! would have been nuts! hope you enjoyed mate! i loved it ;-)
Yes it would have been nice to have met each other , London is always like comming home , so i enjoy every time i ame in Great Britain . Hopefully we meet each other ,the best regards from Schoten near Antwerp Belgium
I’d rather go to Belgium haha. Hope to bump into you there! 🤣👍🏻
Top work Gareth. Spent a little time in LDN myself but not in years... nice to see your efforts out on the streets there. Some of those shots from the Tate were fantastic... and then there was one that stuck out for me for some reason - the guy sitting by the bridge at around 5:14 with St Paul's (is it?) perfectly framed in the reflection.
Hey Richard. Thanks man. Yeah I liked that pic. Yeah St. Paul’s. Not seen that shot before either which is always nice of a landmark building. I had a great day so hope to be back on the streets again soon. 😊👍🏻
9.27 is a great photo. Worth the trip alone to come back with that.
Fantastic work as always, Gareth.. Really love how you've used the light in most of your shots.. Splendid job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Give that Fujifilm more opportunities in street photography and let us enjoy your work 😎
Ah haha thanks so much Mustafa that’s really kind of you! I’ll certainly be doing that. Had a great day. Loved the challenge 😊👍🏻
Gareth Danks That's great to hear!!! Would love to see more street photography from you :)
Thanks for the encouragement Mustafa 😊👍🏻
I absolutely love your work!
Let's meet up on your next visit to London and take some shots together
Follow my Instagram and I’ll post when the next photo walk is 👍🏻😊
when I put my camera to shoot B& W when I down load the images on my laptop they show color. Why is that?
Might be looking at the raws. They’ll stay colour regardless?! Is it saving jpgs or just preview in it? Shoot raw & jpg and see 😊👍🏻
THANKS @@GarethDanks
Just to make fun of you ;-)
loved it! Thanks! especially the photo outside the tate modern
Enjoyed that you showed us some architecture, portraits, people posing and those caught by the camera. thanks, the video has given me a starting point.
Hey thanks so much Tara. Hope to do a similar shoot soon really enjoyed it. Glad you enjoyed. Hope you have fun on your shoot 😊👍🏻
Loved this. In london next week and will defo be taking the camera now!
Haha. You’d be so sad if you didn’t. It’s an incredible place for pics. Where you from?
Great video. I think you might have a future in architectural photography too !!!
Haha thanks so much. Maybe I’ll do a vlog on that subject. Good idea! 😊👍🏻
Love the X-Pro2. Hope they do away with that dumb looking angle on the dial deck on the X-Pro3. Should they, I’ll buy one.
dumb angle? cant figure out what you mean? where it slopes? i just hate the comp dial and diopter dial.. always knocking them!
I enjoyed that mate. Really liked the reflection of St Paul’s of Blackfriars bridge with the person sitting in the wall. The kissing girl was very well timed 👌
Hey mate! how are things!! started your vlog yet? haha c'moooon! get on and do it!! cheers mate!! appreciate the comment mate!! hope your well :-)
Haha...... Yeah I need to mate. Keep up the good work
Hey cheers mate. Hope to catch up soon 😊👍🏻
Well done Gareth, street photography is great fun when things go right.
haha! i can imagine the frustration when they dont!! Thanks William Grateful for the comment :-)
Awesome pictures, especially like the photo of the photographer.
Hey thanks so much Wilson. Appreciate the comment 😊👍🏻
Watching this on the way to London to do some photography! I love the Tate and that space never fails to amaze me. The architecture shots we’re my favourites as no people. I find Street really hard when trying to include people!
so sorry for the delay replying!! hugely grateful for the comment hope you had a good trip :-)
Yes I know about Zone focusing I use it all the time I am out shooting on the streets Gareth Danks my favourite settings is F8 and 6 feet away from my subjects. Also the app you can download helps a lot.
Good vlog & images Gareth - just curious did you use the XPro2 vs XH1 so not to attract as much attention? Steve
Hey Steve. Thanks for the comment mate. Yes and I just love the Camera. It’s my non work fun relaxing little shooter. I adore the xpro2! Had the xh1 in the bag for the Model Shoot but didn’t use it. The pro2 with a little prime is so light too! 😊👍🏻📷
First video of yours that I've seen and I look forward to watching more. I'm a scaredy cat and don't do Street photography but just seeing your compositions makes me want to give it a go, with or without people!
yet another sweet video! you made me excited about the weekend and going out to take some pics. keep it up!
Brilliant ! Mind blowing pictures!
Haha. Thanks so much max. Hugely appreciated mate 😊👍🏻
First time doing street photography, seriously? Amazing eye, gorgeous, breathtaking shots! Thanks!
Hey Aryeh, yeah apart from holiday snaps around europe haha.. thanks mate hugely appreciated :-)

An awesome vlog...I really enjoy your work...thanks for sharing.

Not sure I follow
Gareth Danks lol you said you was not sure where you was!
Ohhhhhhhh.. I’m with ya! Haha. Sorry mate! 😂
Gareth Danks it’s my local neighbourhood 👍🏽
Great great vlog Gareth, I don’t think there was a image in there that I didn’t like. loved them all, especially liked the down escalator and the kissing poster. The one of Nina sitting with the graffiti on the left 👍 thanks again Gareth.

Ha Ha, there you are in London taking fun photograph of people. I was only in London myself for 4 nights last September, a huge fun city full of interesting people and places to visit. Everything in London seen to be made of stones and brick unlike here in the USA. Which I have more time in UK cause I really want visit 3 Cliffs after seeing your panoramic shots. Lucky you mate, got to go back to UK one of these day.
so what do you do with the shots of models? I've often wondered about this? What pros do with model shots.

Hey Jas! Thanks mate. Appreciate that. Glad you liked the pics buddy 😊👍🏻
"First attempt at street photography"...... good grief, you're a natural! Really liked both your people shots, model shots and the buildings - enjoyed the contrasting black and white. Also impressed by how much of London you covered in a day-trip. Had you booked the Sky Garden entry beforehand? I went last year in a group and we had pre-booked an entry time - due to the security check delay (which I fully agree with). Great stuff, Gareth... really enjoyed the vlog.
Hey Geoff mate! thanks so much! hugely appreciated!! it was an amazing day! glad you liked the pics! i was lucky with the sky garden! but unlucky i missed the sunset! - thanks for the amazing feedback as always mate!
