Ay! Great job! I’ve felt your pain in releasing shit online. The people who know the workflow (or are mature enough to where they can at least imagine it’s difficulty) can appreciate what you’ve made. The people saying negative ish in a non constructive way are so out of the loop on what they are talking about that to everyone else, it’s ignorable bs. The hate reflects more on themselves than you! You’ve done a seriously great job.
@@kirbylover37 It’s also important to remember that Sakurai, even with his very talented team, is admittedly far from perfect. Many of his pitches have flopped and his projects floundered at launch. A huge difference in Sakurai’s environment and that of a modder is one receives professional, thoughtful and well intended criticism and the other gets nearly pointless feedback from Twitter and TH-cam
His moves are way too damn goofy and I absolutely love it
I can't believe we've finally reached non-replacement character mods with custom moves. I'm so hyped to see what else comes of this.
I also wonder if there's a limit as to how many character mods we can install, Will we ever find a limit or will we be able to go full MUGEN until our Switch's memory is full?
@@robertgardiner7709 given Waluigi apparently works by adding extra alts to Terry and then making those alts display on the CSS as another fighter slot (iirc it was said in the poppt1 video about the mod), seems like the limit may be doubling in character roster

If Waluigi was on a tier list, he'd probably be very near the bottom. Which is, oddly enough, in character for him.

This and the allucard mod feel like completely new official fighters, its like having a FP3, even if there are cuts in the next game, ultimate will still live on with this high quality mods

I feel like he shouldn't be able to recover with down B attack but instead Down B jump shouldn't put you in free fall that would make more sense. Plus you can make use out of that unique movement option.
I believe the creator said you can jump out of down b jump, he's in the comments of poppt1's video if you want to see exactly what he said

This is one of the best mods I’ve seen. All the animations are super fun, there’s so many intertwined mechanics that pool from a majority of what ssbu has to offer. And the custom Mario Party dice projectile? Its perfect 👏👏👏 the sound, the timing, the visuals - fantastic work!
@3:40 “Stealing all your lunch money” I tell ya, vyQ talks the best kind of trash. I know they’re not fighting each other but vyQ would make an excellent commentator at a tournament.
The only thing I would've changed is the height of the recovery. That is absurdly low for no reason. Maybe even take inspiration from SSF2 up B. Other than that, great move set, very expressive animations

I think that SSF2 Beta Waluigi is the best, and strongest, iteration of him.
If his recovery was just slightly better like side b spike snapping ledge and up b going higher and he had more air drift he would be way better
Really nice moveset and animations, but it feels a bit clunky and not polished at all. But still mad respects for the mod

The up throw leaves him vulnerable for much too long, incase you wanna use the fighter in free-for-all battles. Shortening that animation would balance him out pretty nicely

i’m seeing a lot of people calling him garbage/bottom 5, fr? because to me he’s like low b-tier with his versatility from his specials. down-b literally gives him a kara dodge, cape, a stun move (on top of the already moderately ranged side-b mind you), and a ranged volatile projectile that lasts like 12 frames! now yeah he’s huge, light, and floaty but he’s just brimming with untapped potential
Am I tripping or is the grounded variant of downB into jump completely useless?
@@TotshotAirsoft i haven’t saw it in use but you could “maybe” use it to quickly jump over your opponent, i haven’t got this character on yuzu yet but i can’t wait
@@breadman6058 heard you can only use ryujinx to play with these types of mods. I have the mod on a modded switch. I was testing the move in question earlier and he doesn’t jump over the opponent. He doesn’t even cross up. I did however manage to get him to jump over wolfs blaster and punish with a grab. But you basically have to input the move before the wolf even shoots blaster so it isn’t practical at all. Maybe you can react to the slow variant of ryu/kens hadoken. Other than that I don’t see a use for it unless maybe it acts as a second spot dodge but why use that over the original one? Idk
No throw combos, bad recovery, he's just Little Mac if he had a projectile.

I remember my friends/brothers played SUPER SMASH FLASH in school and having multiple keyboards or having our fingers and hands all over one keyboard just to have tournaments and to see someone took it up a notch to add a mod of the same WALUGI I used to hate fighting him Nostalgic tho….

I wish that Up Special did something. In it’s current state, there’s literally no use for it, as it goes nowhere, doesn’t kill, and doesn’t even do much of any damage.

Random properties on random moves like a tilt that reflects
Garbage recovery distance just because he has a ton of recovery options
Throws that have no purpose in their kit
An overcomplicated mechanic that's too convoluted for them to even flesh out and give purpose (the rekka)
Virtually the entire moveset being taken from other fan projects
No clear game plan or play style, etc
I disagree. I created this moveset and I want to clear a few things up. "Poorly designed is a stretch. He has no reflect on a tilt his recovery distance isnt hign because everyone cant have a great recovery and the rekka is just a 3 hit combo its not rocket science and his gameplay style is ariel advantage. Also the up grab actually does hiht different with different numbers. They just had really odd luck.
@@ItsMeChallatDBXV He already wouldn't have a good recovery. Linear, non-cancelleable, easy to challenge, etc. SSF2 and Brawl mods have proven this.
Yes it is just a three-hit combo, that's pretty much my exact point. It's supposed to have multiple use cases, such as the special input having a killing sweet spot, the attack input being a fast burst option that covers a lot of ground, the jump input being for movement and recovery, etc. All of this had fully thought out purpose within the mod that you took the move from, and then you translated it and adjusted it so much that it lost all use.
And if his play style is aerial, I would recommend giving him higher air acceleration, faster aerials, and a proper recovery so that he can actually go off stage or challenge in the air. He has high jumps and low fall speed, but he gets absolutely nowhere. That's counterintuitive.
Up throw having different effects is nice and all but that doesn't change the fact that his throws have no purpose in his kit. He doesn't gain advantage out of throwing his opponent, like 90% of the cast does.
Like I said, from a modding standpoint, it's impressive, but I mean hell even his moves are all taken from either the Brawl mod or SSF2, except for the grounded Side B that completely contradicts your idea of his play style.
Edit: and just a slight nit pick, but a 6 sided dice like in Mario Party, only have 6 sides. They have 10 in this mod lol.
@@styxxiii Yeah, I'd have to agree. Very impressive (And must have taken a lot of work) to program everything and animate, but design-wise it isn't very cohesive.
I hope no one like Nintendo would take this mod down.
