Now THIS is how you kill off a character. Everything Nacho did was to keep his own father safe. During that final meeting, he saw no other way out without his father suffering the consequences. It's a shame to lose his character because he was so perfectly written and was always a joy to experience his journey whenever he was on-screen. However, now that it happened the way it did, I truly see no other way for Nacho's story to have ended whilst having the impact it did. Perfectly executed.
Mike and Nacho had a plan, Mike wanted to save Nacho and blast both, Salamanca and Fring, but Nacho decided to take his fate into his hands for the first time.
I respect Nacho the most as a character in the BrBa universe and it isn't even close. Thank you for giving such an amazing portrayal over the last 6 seasons Mr. Mando. Looking forward to your new and upcoming roles after this.

i was kinda confused, like was that the plan the whole time, for nacho to hide the glass and take Bolsa hostage? Wasn't Victor supposed to kill him? also did they ever mention how Nacho was caught by Gus's people? One scene the Cartel were chasing him the next he was with Mike, what was the story told to the Salamancas that he ended up there?
@@Dogtles nacho a Wasn't caught by gus....he willingly gave himself to gus in return for his father's safety...he smuggled himself in a truck or something....and to make all of this convincing mike and gus beat the shit out kf nacho....and the whole glass deal was taking control of his life for one last time before he passed away
He did everything they asked from him and they threw him under the bus. I'm currently watching BB for a second time. Nacho's fate changed my opinion on a couple of characters a lot.

He's willing to do bad things, but at the end of the day he isn't rotten to the core like Fring and the Salamancas. This makes him vulnerable, because in the "game" you need to be ruthless to survive. Nacho refuses to go all the way, and he's also fettered by concern for his father. This makes him easy for other people to manipulate and more and more he realizes he doesn't want money or power, he just wants out. Which is basically what he tells Don Eladio at the end of season 5, as Lalo said to always tell Eladio the truth. He doesn't say it directly though. His story in season 6 is tragic because he realizes there is no way out. He's gone too long trying to play by his own rules, and those rules just aren't compatible with the game he's in. He is going to die - but in his final moments, he is at least able to do it on his own terms, and in his own way, escape. This is highlighted in the impotence of Hector, who can do nothing but shoot a corpse in rage, which is intended as a disrespect but is really proof of Nacho's triumph. His character arc is a tragic affirmation of the power of the individual in the face of overwhelming odds. It has nothing to do with heroism or villainy. But you see a halfway decent character die and go "wow, time to pull out the overused and misunderstood Harvey Dent quote, he wasn't totally evil and he died so it's perfectly applicable here".
We should all so lucky as to have the strength and presence of mind to still have the power to choose the terms. Everybody else in the scene really didn't get a resovling choice wrt their demise .
He had no better move on the chess board than to kill himself if wanted to save his dad from his life choices. Which he did from day one we saw his character. GoT had a chess board too till D&D started with their writing once Geroge Martin's stopped.
