Geology for Engineers: Metamorphic Rocks. Basic Identification and Classification.

Learn how to make a basic description and classify metamorphic rocks. Distinguish the main characteristics of Regional metamorphism, mainly related to Pressure, and Contact metamorphism, related to Temperature. Observe and describe the foliation, recristallization of the rocks, and formation of new metamorphic minerals (blastesis), such as ocellar textures, and formation of spots of porphiroblastic minerals (cordierite, staurolite...).
