  • in a recent road trip i went to ohio and the Pathfinder gathering. While there i got to hold a knife i have been wanting for quite a while a WC MINI. the knife is small handy and compact and perfect for carving and tight in close detail work for traps or other woodcraft tasks. i bought mine from randy smith at stichedgear.com and i am very happy with it you will be seeing more of this knife in future videos and i wanted to give it a proper review and introduction. thank for watching and all the support you give my channel.

There is no such thing as the "one & only" to do everything with, especially when it comes to knives, making fire, and potable water. Looking forward to seeing your knife sharpening class ! I'm sure others here would like to see another class/video on the Kukri and what a few good "commercial" made ones would be re: blade size, shape, steel...

There is no such thing as to many WC Knives! Good vid. I like to have four knives on me at all times and when out bushcrafting I would take a saw and an axe. Carving, I bring more knives including some special carving knives/tools. It all depends on what needs doing.

Even if you lose or break one, you still won't be in want for a blade. Better to have & not need than need & not have

Cool knife. I really like the full size handle. I don't like small fixed blades because of the small handle.👍👍⚓⚓🇺🇲🇺🇲

That's an awesome little knife Blackie. I've been looking for a good knife for carving. Definitely a winner there. Look forward to your knife sharpening video. I've always had a hard time getting a good edge and I've lost count on how many sharpeners I've bought..👍

I've got a 2nd run black bird and a sweet 01 drop point custom WC. I'd love to get that one but there's no give one the price for size. It's gonna be awhile but I'm sure I'll pull the trigger sooner than latter. Lol

That drop point is a beauty! I may be tempted to get one. Last Fall, while I was waiting for my WC Blackbird, I had the urge for another small fixed blade knife. Since I already had Roselli Bearclaw in UHC steel and WC didn't have any that fit the bill, I kept looking. Found a Creely Mako-PG in CPM20CV and it has a flat grind, which serves general use. The sheath is like WC's with the metal pocket clip. I have mixed feeling about the pocket clip, because it tears up pockets, and could get it convinced to convert belt
    carry.

I can see the title of your story like Ötzi’s the Iceman.
Blackie Thomas who was known in North America as a Master Woodsman and is the natural mummy of a man who lived some time between 1959 and 2060 AD among many items he carried the WC knife which was one of his most trusted tools. 👍 Like it!

I can see where that would be a great all around knife. Especially for the close quarters carving

i remember reading a memoir from the late 19th century, talking about how any knife over 5 inches starts losing practicality in daily tasks as its too long and heavy to be used finely.
dont think ive thought of using a knife around 2inshes or so for small tasks, maybe i gotta look into it

Don't understand,, surely, if you want to put your thumb or finger on the spine, it would be better if it was rounded, or "crowned",, ??? Obviously at the expense of losing the ability to scrape, or use a firesteel,.. Wouldn't carving or whittling, with a sharp spine, would be extremely uncomfortable, ??
