It's very good the 3 series volvo never hit the u.s. I have had 3 volvos go over 300,000 miles. One, my 86' 240gl did 847,540 miles before I gave it to a relative. They got it to 20,000 after the odometer rolled over. Had a 850GLT, stick, loved it. Timing belt went at 267,000 and yes I did replace it at 80,000 intervals. My last one, an s60 did 247,000 miles. No issues till the transmission went after a flush. Replaced it with what was supposed to be a rebuilt transmission. The shop that put it in closed and was sued 3 weeks after I got it installed. It broke again, at 70mph on the turnpike here. Almost died. A criminal transmission shop cost me a beautiful car.

The Donald Sutherland impression from Kelly’s Heros is amazing. Also hilarious impression of the smooth bore 120mm on that Challanger firing, based on how we do things here in the states at the armor training center at Fort Knox, unless that’s a military firing range no one in the UK is going to sanction going full send with a 120 mike mike considering all the liability that’s inherent with an errant HE round 😂
For me best era is the muscle car era 64-74 cars built for street racing and Drag Racing at a price almost anybody could afford. Had this on VHS, that TVR 🤪🤪🤪🤪
I have to agree with you. And Chrysler was hitting a truly sweet spot with the dodge challenger/charger and Plymouth cuda and other variants. The mid 60s Chrysler 300s were really special too. It’s a shame how quickly they crashed and burned after say 74. There was no reason in hell the big 3 couldn’t have designed great looking smaller cars. The only car Pontiac made that looked great after 74 was the firebird, which was designed during the epic era.
Well, it was faked. If he'd actually shot it with the tank cannon, the shell would have blown through and caused catastrophic damage well past the lot.
Clarkson should do commentaries on his old videos like these with his updated thoughts now. The 355 is better looking than the E-Type? Maybe when it was new it was striking, but now it looks like a mid-90s Ferrari. Good looking car, but the Jag held up better, aesthetically.

Even the kids today knows everything sucks. If you asked a teenager in 1996 how life is more than likely they would have had postive things to say. Ask a teenager now and you'll not get the same answer.
''90;s were a pretty good era. I was maybe 15 years ahead of you, but did feel it was a good time with much promise for the future. His policies and positions today would make hum a hard-core righty. How have things gone so far to the lunatic fringe in a couple decades???
British really don't understand guns, huh? A shell would just go right through a Yugo and keep flying. Even from a medium caliber hunting rifle, lol. And it would never explode
The classic Mini, was like a Nissan Pao if it had double the horsepower. It was a racing go-kart for the masses. One of the cars I’d love to own one day.
Jeromy thats the only time you have ever let me down, you didnt really shoot the Yugo, that was just a couple little special effects explosion's, a shell from that tank would of gone right through the car, hitting the engine would of pushed the engine out the other side though
Well, the Nissan Sunny. Maybe not "THE BEST CAR OF THE WORLD". But I had one. Used it to drive between Essen and Hamburg In Germany every week. It did this job for quite some time. First repair occurred after 140.000 km . Something like 90,000 miles. Great car. Spent quite some time of my life in it. I had a Mercedes 280 TE after it - which was not so reliable. What is good depends pretty much on what you understand by the term "good".
That line about the styling of the Nissan Sunny being the same on both sides is stolen from a famous story about legendary Italian car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro seeing the Triumph TR7 for the first time in 1974. "He walked around the car, paused for a moment, and said: “My god! They’ve done the same on this side as well.”
Maintained a sunny will go a million miles. Easy to fix, cheap parts even now in 2024. I've a farm friend that has one, and has since 1995. We call them a sentra here. Very reliable, which is very odd for nissan
And only a few years later in 1999, Lexus would show the second gen SC 430 at the Tokyo Motor Show, the car which Jeremy and James would call the worst ever built. 🤣
You can argue about what car is best doing one thing. And we will for decades to come. But I suggest to you, that only ONE car does EVERYTHING better than every other car ever made. That’s that 1967-69 Plymouth Barracuda. Where do I start? Well? From the most impressive thing first. The 1968 Hemi Barracuda could do 10 second 1/4 miles and wheelies from the factory. The Super Stocker Barracuda and its Brother the Dart put an end to the Super Stocker wars of the late 1960’s. Oh, you think it’s a good straight only muscle car? It won and international Rally in 1968! And A-Body’s Barracuda’s Darts and Valiants were the best platforms to start with when Privateers raced Trans-Am. Beating 911’s head to head! Look at it this way the 1970 AAR “Cuda” that raced in Trans-Am had the SAME types of engines, the SAME type of suspension and Chassis. But the A-Body Barracuda weighs 500lbs less!!! So take your pick! Drag racing or road track racing, the Barracuda was good or great both!!! You want a family car? It will seat 5 adults. 6 with a bench seat up front. It’ll be tight. But easily done. Mom, Da and three kids, NO problem. Four kids in my family’s case. You want good gas mileage? The slant 6 with highway gears dives you 25mpg on the highway in 1967-69 with NO overdrive!!! Order the special order A-833 over drive transmission and with the small block V8 and you can also get 25mpg on the highway. The car weighs about 3000lbs depending on options. You want cargo room comparable to a Station wagon. Open the trunk divider and fold down the back seat and you have 4 feet wide and 7 feet long uninterrupted flat cargo space!!! You can camp in the back of a Barracuda!!! No car has or can do ALL of these things as good as a second generation A-Body Barracuda.
Should remake a modern version. Replace the sunny with the Juke! Although it's too charismatic. That ain't bland. Most of the SUVs are bland and so similar it's hard to single one out!
The brains of Captain Slow, the brawn of Jezza Long Pizz, and the nothing of Hamster Titchy. Just your average public school lower sixth (on resit GCSEs).
I know Clarkson is a professional provocateur rather than a motoring journalist but I'm still going to take his bait. Claiming the Nissan Sunny is the worst car ever is just the mutterings of a sick mind. I hired one in the 1980s to do a 400 mile round trip and it was just what I needed. It was easy, uncomplicated, soft, friendly, reliable and comfortable and most of the time that's exactly what you need from your car. Clarkson sees cars as I saw my toys when I was a child. The worst car I ever owned was a Fiat Regatta. It constantly backfired, it tried to steer the opposite direction to the way you pointed it, it jumped out of gear at 50mph, it broke down every three weeks and it dumped oil like a rabbit shits turds and this was a brand new Fiat from the dealer. Clarkson would have loved it because it was Italian and had a throaty exhaust. In reality it should have been aborted before the end of the production line in Turin.
Best car ever made, for all intents and purposes, all things combined was Mercedes W123. Not a rush of adrenaline, but not boring to drive. Practical 5 seater with big trunk, but still good looking. Timeless classic that can keep up with modern roads and traffic. Endlessly reliable. Comfortable to the Nth degree with armchair like seats. Looks of a Greek temple on wheels. Like a little black dress in motorised form. Mechanical symphony of pleasure in the form of engine sound. It can cruise in comfort on Autobahn, but can withstand rugged roads of Balkans. "Driving a Mercedes is like being transgender, it never leaves you unless you chop the whole thing"...

His policies and positions today would make hum a hard-core righty. How have things gone so far to the lunatic fringe in a couple decades???
OK, boomer.
I was 4yrs old in 1998 yet I still feel I want it to be that year. I was a baby then but somehow I still feel nostalgic from this video...
I watched this 100s of times as a kid on video and its only i realise he didnt actually shoot the yugo with a tank 😮
Loved a clarkson Xmas video was the must !!
Why can't you?? Go for it!
@@YorkshiremanReacts26 Looking for one as I write. 👍👍
Top Gear before Top Gear 2002
Those sexy electric guitars, ooooh yes.
Did he SERIOUSLY say that the FERRARI 355 is BETTER LOOKING than an E-Type JAG?!?!?!
Such a young delusional Clarkson...
Alright chill out ffs. He MORE THAN redeemed himself when he met the Eagle Speedster...
Clarkson briefly becomes analogue horror in the first second
I can imagine an Americans watching this when it came out weren't happy the Viper came last considering drag racing is what they are all about.
Always satisfying to beat someone at their own game
Jeromy thats the only time you have ever let me down, you didnt really shoot the Yugo, that was just a couple little special effects explosion's, a shell from that tank would of gone right through the car, hitting the engine would of pushed the engine out the other side though
man i love clarkson!
Poor thing. Sweet little car. Doesn't look ugly these days. Just 1980s.
"You get overtaken by a wildlife" 🤣🤣
Greetings 👽
I had this classic on video when I was in school 😂
Thanks for the upload but I wish you'd kept the original 4/3 format instead of stretching it to widescreen
13:58 is a glimpse of Clarkson’s future
Maintained a sunny will go a million miles. Easy to fix, cheap parts even now in 2024. I've a farm friend that has one, and has since 1995. We call them a sentra here. Very reliable, which is very odd for nissan
Great video. I remember that annoying jingle during the drag race too well
It's ghastly. At the time it felt right but now it's so cheesy it's untrue
Nissan juke undoubtedly best car ever
keep the ferrari the e type is just beautiful
Exactly. Even old man Ferrari said so.
Enjoyed the Volvo 3 series & the tree.
And only a few years later in 1999, Lexus would show the second gen SC 430 at the Tokyo Motor Show, the car which Jeremy and James would call the worst ever built. 🤣
Thank you for uploading this. Could you please upload the next film Apocalypse Clarkson?
Long life for Jeremy! 👏
So many hideous modern SUV's i'd put in place of that poor old Nissan Sunny mind you.
Should remake a modern version. Replace the sunny with the Juke! Although it's too charismatic. That ain't bland. Most of the SUVs are bland and so similar it's hard to single one out!
Prime Jeremy this
This reminds me of Need For Speed III and 4 where your could race Ferrari against other brands but not in Hot Persuit modes
How did that tank work with twelve pistons and six cylinders?
No way the Sunny was the worst car ever.
They were actually very good cars.
So funny how his voice falters at 3:54
Not even the Clarkson can fully keep his cool talking to a camera at 160mph
Fuck that middle part was boring
The brains of Captain Slow, the brawn of Jezza Long Pizz, and the nothing of Hamster Titchy.
Just your average public school lower sixth (on resit GCSEs).
This must have had a music budget of about £12
😂 th-cam.com/video/CA_0cRWfdPY/w-d-xo.html
Yeah all the tracks here are in almost all his other DVDs and videos too 😂 🤦🏾♂
@@tylerhope8190 that 13 quid video is the perfect response 😂
