  • Four volunteers have emerged from a small compound at a Nasa base in Texas.
    They spent more than a year living in conditions designed to simulate those on Mars.
    The space the volunteers have lived in for the past 378 days is 3D printed.
    Nathan Jones, Anca Selariu, Kelly Haston and Ross Brockwell entered the 1,700-square-foot enclosure back on June 25, 2023.

    As far as getting an idea of the psychological effect of being there the only way to get as close as possible is if they don't allow them to leave no matter what even for emergencies. The whole time they were in there they knew in the back of their minds if something went very wrong they could just leave. How did they simulate Mars’s lower gravity?

    • @ralfsstuff
      @ralfsstuff 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They didn't and why would they? This simulation was about 4 people being locked in a small compound for a year. Gravity really isn't an important factor here.

    For some reason pieces like this attract way too much sarcasm and cynicism, and it makes the comments section quite predictable and boring to read. Seems to be anything where anyone is trying to achieve anything gets this response from a certain type of person. Even worse if it's anything to do with the environment.
