Another great video, thanks! I know TRNC very well, but it's always interesting to see a familiar place through a new set of eyes. Appreciate the minimalist commentary, sticking to the salient points, and the absence of TH-cam library music. Keep up the good work, and remember that if you cross over into the south they can make a fuss as you didn't enter the country from an 'official' port of entry.
13:41 these tiny houses with air-con, are they for the guards? Are they trying to prevent new settlers to come and live in the old remains? Or are they safe-guarding military/gov installations under cover like the one you were asked to turn around at 7:53? The city indeed paused for many in there, but most plants don't seem to mind, those palm trees especially seem to have survived the deadly beetle getting across many inhabited cities. Did you see any wild animals there? 🦊 Another great tour, thanks for sharing 🙏
The entire city is within a military zone, & can only be viewed from the tightly-regimented roads where you can ride rental bikes. The TRNC has a massive Turkish Military presence. There were a few cats in the city but not much else.
hi Tim.Jimmy here in South Africa..do i detect some south african in your accent? i could swear i do 😏. Just wanna say yr stuff is fresh and brilliant, and in a fair world yld have 500 000 subcsribers by now. Also,i watch plenty vlogs, and i take note of camera work thats interesting,...that stealth camp when you slept behind the advertising board...when the camera tracked out away from the sign...turned around and started back...made me gasp..one of the better moments of video photography ive ever seen
@jimmymylonas2228 thank you so much for that! I like to work in Drone Shots here & there, couldn't do it here because the Turkish Military is very strict about Varosha. Also my accent is Australian with a bit of American mixed in

They should have moved refugees from Cypress war and put it to use
I bet many previous inhabitants would like to go back, even as refugees... It would likely create another conflict, mostly due to jealously 😓
