It's more meaningful since MAMA never gives 2 daesangs to 1 group~ specially now with how hard they're pushing their own self-formed group Wanna One and they too have been breaking records, so the fact that MAMA wasn't able to manipulate anything bec. It would be too fishy says a lot. Remember when daesangs were always divided for Big bang, Suju, SNSD. or BB, 2NE1, Suju. Or BB, Psy , EXO.... But this time even if twice, wanna one broke records selling millions of albums too, BTS went beyond insane selling albums too that so it would be FISHY if MAMA awarded it to another group beside BTS. Then AOTY...... if MAMA didn't give it to a Grammy Nominated artist, that award show would be all BS. So, BTS really values this more given MAMA'S record of handing daesangs.

The fact that they talk about difficulties which leading to the talk of disbanding...ON. FRICKING. PUBLIC. AWARD. SHOW. shows that they are not afraid to show their vulnerability to Army. They believe in Army. Other group I found ever talking about this was senior gruop, and they talked about it candidly, disguised it as anecdote... But Bts... They spoke about it openly. Not in front of Army, on vlive, or their own concert...but on a freakin award show. Damn! Eventho BTS becomes model group for others, I dont think they will ever be able to have courage to speak about difficulties or even disbanding on stage... Ever.
This had me crying J-Hope started cry i was tearing up and then i saw Jungkook i had more tears coming and then i saw Jin and more tears came and then i saw V and i started crying like crazy and then when Jin sayed they thought of disbanding my heart literally cracked and then V started cry then i cry a lot more though I'm glad they didn't disband.

They were already trying not to cry when they were standing together. They knew what Jin was going to say before, so the memories must have hit them all hard at the same time. You can see that Jimin, RM, JK, and Jin were fighting tears as soon as they were given the award. It must've been so hard to get to a point of disbanding when we all can see how much they love each other. To come out of that is amazing, but then to make TWO more albums that would've qualified for major awards is incredible. Everything that they do just makes me love and respect them more and more.

I think they think about disbanding because of the pressure of having the need to put out or release a higher quality music and performance.

Yeah. I mean, imagine that you're performing not just to represent your band/company but all of Korea (as they've had to do back in 2017 and now 2018). I'm not sure many westerners really understand the burden these young artists have. They came from a no-nothing company. Just making it big in Korea would be a feat. To make it to the world stage like they have is beyond a Cinderella story. Even Psy talked about the pressure and depression he fell into after his hit "Gangnum Style". And that was just a single. Imagine the pressure BTS must be under after the worldwide success. All my respect to these seven young men. I wish them all the best. Whether they continue to do music/perform or not, they should remain proud and know that they are loved.

Right. All of that contributed. But also don't forget that last year several members' family relatives died. As well as V's relative died this year. The suicide of the Shinee member (cannot remember his name), plus the constant bullies (antis) trying to sabotage their efforts of success. In Bon Voyage this year Suga had to leave early from the vacations due to personal reasons. And I imagine other things really contributed for them to feel so worn out! JK injured himself and wasn't able to dance in certain performances and he felt so bad about it. Plus the whole recent t-shirt issue with Jimin. Plus doing concerts back to back!!!!!! And going to so many music awards and other events. Too much to handle! Think about it. And then worrying about not gaining weight. We must always be kind and supportive. And if one day they decide to disband for WHATEVER reason then that's on them and we will respect their decision. We want them to be happy and not feel trapped in the pressures of the industry. God bless all of the members of BTS and their staff. They work hard to give us quality content but their own personal lives must be very hard. Let's always count 2!3! with them okay? Purple Army!!!
Hum, I don't think half of these things that you mentioned were what made then consider disbanding because Jin clearly stated in the beginning of the year. And these things like Jk and Jimin getting hurt, the concerts, the BV episodes, all happened in the 2nd half of the year. I guess this all happened even before hope world was released. I think they were in a bad place because they were scared of not getting results as mind blowing as the ones they did in 2017. After all, they were still BH's only group, and the main income for the company. I remember Yoongi talking abt how he cried after the AMA's cause it was something so great but that brought a lot of pressure as well. The whole country had their eyes on them....if they were gonna fail, succeed...and I guess that was a lot. So if they disbanded back them, they would end everything on their peak and wouldn't have to worry abt anything else. I'm glad they talked trough it and realized that making music was more important to them, as well sticking with each other

Thank you - this is such a careful and balanced response, acknowledging in detail the difficulties of a very difficult year for BTS. I hope that, whatever the no doubt many difficulties ahead, they never have so much to face so closely together, piled high and higher, again and again. If there were not 7, only one, could they survive that?
Thankfully, they are seven. But now, they are not seven with ARMY.
I'm sure that even at the depths of 2018, they were with ARMY when they decided not to disband. When, at some time, they must disband, for ARMY each of them will remain BTS, we will remain ARMY, and will support them in whatever they do

BTS was able to talk about this sensitive issue because BTS has already overcome it, and I love that BTS shared the feeling with ARMY. BTS cares for ARMY from the bottom of their hearts.
as ARMYs, BTS has taught us love yourself so I hope with the awards this year and the success of their concert, that they realize that ARMYs will always be 100% behind them because even though we only see a public image, we know the validation that hard work of many years has paid off. so with that in mind, BTS fighting!

Bts has helped bring a lot of happiness to my life. I suffer from depression and anxiety but they are my happy escape from reality. When i heard the speech and I realized that they could of disbanded i cried for some time. I thought about it yesterday and part of today and decided I don 't ever want to be selfish and have them stay together for my own happiness. so if one day in the future they disband i will support it. Now that I know that is a possibility I will practice in the present to be more thankful for the entertainment and the happiness they give. I shall store the happiness if feel with them some place safe emotionally and mentally for when i need the strength that they currently give me to me in the future. I love bts always have and always will.

I don't understand Korean but I have seen the subtitled version and I cry no matter how many times I've seen this. They have been through so much and still continue to deal with bullshit in the industry and personal mental health battles. My level of respect and admiration for them to continue on no matter what they face, knows no bounds. Becoming a BTS fan is one of the smartest decisions I've made 🙂
To be honest since so many people love bts and they have a contract for how many years they cant them go and do this , it will be harder to let them go once they actually disbanded and now that they bring it up, makes me want them to live their own care free life without gossiping but makes it harder for A.R.M.Y to let them go and stop our tears.

I stayed up so late and early into the morning just to watch this. I was crying so badly because as an ARMY for so long, Army knew they were dealing with hardships. Its hard for us to see it. They smile for us all the time and worry about us, but I dont think they know that we do the same for them. They wear masks and smile for us, when we can see and sense somethings wrong. Nothing about Armys love is fake. Seeing this and hearing Jin... I hope they know how proud of them we are.

My reaction to the speech: What an emotional and beautiful thank you speech from BTS!! I love them so much. They deserve everything. Seeing sunshine Hoseok and Seokjin , and also the other members cry makes me emotional. I want to cry. Also, seeing Yoongi saying he is happy and thanking his members makes me so happy. This time he didn’t cry as much, he seem to be happy. I really like that. Is like he is being strong and happy in front of the crying members. And maknae line, especially Taehyung crying so much after what Seokjin said. So emotional. And Jungkook comforting him. Pulling him close by the back of the head and patting him. So heartwarming and cute.

First time reacting to your channel, I was so shocked to hear they thought of disbanding. The following is just my opinion. Firstly they need a break, they need to rest physically and mentally. To re-sign for another 7 years, and they are at the top of their game, they need to rest, otherwise they may not make it, within themselves. Secondly I can now see that maybe Bighit introducing another new boy band, may have been in place to elevate the pressures from BTS. If that's what their thought processes were in some ways, it was very smart. Thirdly and I maybe wrong here, but some of the members, if not all, over the next 7 years will be heading to the ARMY. If so, that will indefinitely change the dynamics of the group. Fourthly I think this is a bit of a wake up call for the ARMY fandom, you can wrap these guys in your arms and hearts, but at the end of the day, realise they are people too. The first words always out of their mouths is ARMY. They are so humble and genuine. Please remember that along with our love and support, comes hate, threats to their lives and uncertainty. The boys say all the time, " Without ARMY, we don't exist", but ARMY, you almost lost your idols. It's time to embrace them and keep them held up, as a fandom, we also have a responsibility, not just BTS. Lastly, just a few of my thoughts, a wrap up. If you look at their last albums and tour, it was like a wrap up and closure, or goodbye from BTS. My concern now is the need to always go bigger and better, for themselves for their fandom, for their families, I'm worried that they will forget the most important lesson in life. To breathe, to mentally nurture themselves and each other on this journey because cracks behind the scene aren't aired for the public to see, so the pressure and thought processes must be unimaginable. 2019 will need to be a year for BTS, that incorporates, healing, resting and reflection, otherwise guys, they may not last 7 years in one piece. These are my opinions and thoughts, please be respectful.

Idk if this is true but some said that the song “let go” was supposed to be there farewell song. Listening to that song again got me in tears knowing that they were thinking of disbandment while writing that song.
It's not true, people were just being over emotional and trying to overanalyse everything. And none of the boys are credited for Let Go

Thats merely a co-incidence, people just over analyse everything. They just discussed about disbanding because of the overwhelming expectations that created a huge burden and mental pressure on them so they talked through it, but had no intentions of disbanding obviously. They even explained all this in BTS DINNER PARTY, how they were feeling earlier this year.
If I were a billionaire, the most precious thing in my heart would always be BTS. BTS #1 always.
No expensive object can compare to them, even If the whole world were a diamond and belonged to me, theyll always be the most precious thing tattooed on my heart.

I love BTS because of their flaws and because they are they. They deserve more than awards, they deserve happiness. I forgot about the sentence saying, "Why do I even live, I dont like life. I dont like who I am, thats right, I cant love myself because everyone else doesnt." because BTS taught me that I have reasons to live, and I am who I am and that thatll never change even if I change my whole self, Ill always be me.

They nearly disband bcoz it was near their contract renewal & they are already at the highest point of their career. Probably felt pressured bcoz they feel they need to go higher. And whether you like them or not, they are the forefront of the current hallyu wave. Meaning not only the company is relying on them but also the kpop industry & even the country. That's a lot of pressure. Thankfully, I think BH let them go their own pace & not pushing them too much.

Not sure how credible the source is, but I've heard that one top executive (who potentially has a lot of the record and resources as how BTS became successful worldwide), one American producer, as well as some fellow employees left Bighit for SM (probably because SM pays them better I guess). It happened around the beginning of this year, and Bighit rushed to start recruiting employees and everyone in the company was under a lot of stress.
I've heard this story from my friend i don't know if this actually happened. But I'm happy that BTS stayed strong and together not just for ARMYs, but also for the group BTS and for each member's dream and passion for music.

I know they deserved it but after they got Album of the Year a lot of us were worried as MAMA is notorious for not giving more than one daesang per group/artist. I hope the boys can relieve some of the pressure they have been feeling and take a decent break over Xmas. No matter what they do in the future Army will always love and support each and every one of them. Would love them to stay together but can also understand if that becomes too difficult.
