    I've been watching your videos 4 a very long time. The abilities of your company the equipment that you own or operate never ceases to amaze me. There are people who operate backhoes on their channels and that's all they do LOL I don't know why people come back and watch him. Everyday your videos show another skill set that you have. Sometimes when I see a business owner like yourself who everyday somehow overcome an obstacle like it's second nature. Thanks again for sharing all your videos

    Seeing the bridge being put in and ya'll crossing the creek reminded me of a Tract of timber I helped mark some poles on. The landowner owned like 700/ 800 acres outside of Abbeville, Ga. Some of it was pine plantation in the Ocmulgee River swamp, but there was a large island across a fork of the river that the landowner built a bridge too. He took the bridge out after they finished cutting the island, but it was amazing.

  • @imchris5000
    @imchris5000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    thats actually a pretty clever set up but all the old time loggers would just do what you did they would even go further and put some logs going the other direction in the middle to give a spot for the water to flow then push 5-6ft of dirt on top of the logs to finish the bridge across and all the traffic would cross it

  • @kevinharris1392
    @kevinharris1392 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That was a good idea to error on the side of caution for the machines. Before you even mentioned putting trees in the creek, actually I was thinking the same thing. Railroad car bridges are what we use.Not only are they narrow, like you said, also throw the mud factor in. I had a contract hauler slide his loaded truck off the bridge, when it got slippery with mud. He never drove across one and was nervous, again little margin for error on a railcar bridge.

  • @kennetheugene6402
    @kennetheugene6402 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I was doubting like you were for those loggers to make it across that setup with the trailers I been in trucking 10 years and I know the flat bed tend to twist and wouldn’t be ideal for a bridge unless welded with some ideal bracing on a angle to prevent the twist. Good call on using the logs instead👍🏽

  • @Francis-bm4mh
    @Francis-bm4mh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't worry what other people, u did a clever plan which is called a shortcut plan use that from the trailer, I wouldn't think about building a bridge that sort of kind of clever.

  • @butchtheiw
    @butchtheiw 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems like bad planning to bring in a trailer that is too short, then to try to build a structure on soft ground. Bringing in some portable 2x2x4 concrete blocks to use as abutments to set it on would have made that trailer bed useable. Possibly. A lot of wasted time and people standing around due to lack of advanced planning here.

    It's always a pleasure watching you Cotontop. That bridge is a beauty! Sure beats the old Hemlock or Spruce corduroyed bridges (like what you built) that we use in the bush up here in Canada for small creeks and rivers for truck crossings.

    There is actually more pressure per square inch on tires than the ground pressure of the distributed load across the track..caution is best though.
