Your hair is beautiful!! I finally found someone after 5 years with the exact type and texture of mine

    Definition was lovely!
I always say though, 4c naturals hardly ever go thru the curl training phase of their natural hair journey since we're taught we don't have definition to begin with.
I think when you decide to go back and do the clay treatment again to follow up with the kinky curly line, u should also shingle! Great video!!

I agree. I feel like we’re the only texture that’s told “you have frizz, just deal with it” lol. Very annoying.

Green Beauty (she is a natural hair "scientist" lol, she has mainly 4c hair) and she did a great mini series on how clay actually cleans your hair and provided a recipe to maximize all the positive properties of using clay (she mixes 3 types of clay). I've been using clay to clean my hair instead of shampoo lately, and I love it. Idk but shampoos lately I feel are just too striping for my hair and doesn't make it feel soft or strong and "sulfate-free" shampoos actually still have surfactants in them just not sulfate and it is usually not as concentrated, so then my scalp still feels dirty.

I tried the kinky curly knot today detangler and gel and my hair is the same texture as yours. I was blown away by the amount of definition it gave me. It was insane. I always thought the kinky curly products were more suitable for type 3 naturals. It’s taken me this long to try the and I’ve been natural since 2010.

I use to use kinky curly a lot early on on my natural journey, but it stopped working for me... my hair got use to it 😕. I've thought about going back to switch it up but idk

Yesss girl the fairy knots are real. 😄 I love kinky curly products that’s my fave. You’ll definitely gonna get some popping curl definition with that combo using the clay.
    Stay safe. Love and light.

When my hair needs to be wash and has a lot of product buildup, that's when I do a bentonite clay mask. I mix it with apple cider vinegar, honey, oil, and a tad bit of conditioner. I put it on my hair like a perm, including my scalp. I wear a shower cap and leave it in for 2 or more hours. Nothing makes my hair look and feel like this mask. More defined curls, clean clear scalp and strands. Softness.

You have low porosity hair. You should not use ACV. Check out the maximum hydration method. I know curl definition is not your thing, and the maximum hydration method may be too much for your schedule. But your hair is dry that is why you get fairy knots. This is not something you need to live with. Our hair is chronically dry from braids, twists, weaves, wigs, and everything that gets in the way of us feeding our hair moisture regularly. Spraying our hair when it's in a protective style won't cut it. So try out the maximum hydration method for at least 3 days or do a cherry lola treatment and you will be surprised at what your hair can really achieve when it is hydrated.

I think you should do smaller sections when you do betonite clay. You need to like coat every single strand. When i washed my hair. The definition and softness i achieved *chef’s kiss* but when it dried it’s still there but hella frizzy

I was wondering why your hair wasn’t showing shrinkage, I get it you’re trying to keep it stretched to avoid fairy knots I hear you on that, lately I’ve been trying a twaid out lol, sounds silly it’s a braid out but instead of a full braid your two strand twist the ends, braid part way down twist the rest; doing that I believed helped me stretched my hair, and I’m taken back by this clay mask, your hair is interesting, very thick! Thickness goals forreal. Are you sticking with clay masks in your regimen? Did not catch if you mentioned that.

    • @primrosedeluna
      @primrosedeluna 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Twaid! I love that. I do something similar to my son's hair after washing. I braid it until I reach a point where I'd have to borrow hair and then leave his coils loose at the end. The result when dry is a stretched fro with definition at the ends, I love it.

How long did the shingling take you. I have a lot of hair too. It takes my an hour to just braid my hair for bed. I only wash when I can walk around in conditioner. Been growing my hair for 18 months plus had hair shedding from Bariatric surgery. Biotin supplements. I will try the clay. How did your hair gel.

fairy knots are killing me as my hair gets longer! Its a little longer than yours but its also 3c, 4a, 4b AND I have natural colour that seems to just be naturally even more dry than black hair :( Anyways I'm using my revair to blowdry out my hair to help with these knots! And braids :)

I would suggest NOT using water. Only use ACV and make sure your hair is saturated in the clay. And it looks like the clay was too thick. it needs to be creamier. And your hair should definitely be wet when applying👌

Thats why I never do any wash and gos, because I'm afraid of the breakage, but maybe this clay may strengthen it more? Will it? Please someone let me know

I am to ruffle some feathers but please don’t use clay on your hair. It is abrasive. It will damage your hair with prolonged use. Clay is dirt and dirt doesn’t cleanse the hair. Undiluted apple cider vinegar has a strong ph that will cause your hair to split. Ask a stylist their opinion on clay. I promise you it won’t be favorable. Clay is for your face. It does not cleans it’s a treatment. Clay cannot detox. These myths need to die. We as naturals need to find stylist. This is a general comment for people who think clay is beneficial for hair. IT IS NOT. Please research further the science speaks for itself.
