    I’m using an Epson Home Cinema 2030…any thoughts on how to improve the image when it doesn’t have these kind of adjustments?

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Those are tough...you really can't. Those just don't have the HT adjustments. That's actually why we don't sell it..just cannot get it where a client would want.

      @@TheaterAdvice_FCAV yes, it did. I got the shelf need to fine tune it. I have to move the projector over to the right just a tad to get it right. Will do it tomorrow.

      Doesn't have to be centered...just closeish. Level and straight is more important.

    I've read on several AV forums not to do the zone matching as it decreases resolution, only do the whole panel. What are your experiences?

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh man poeple need another hobby if anyone noticed that. How can that even be...lol. I don't want blue or red push anywhere. At least do the whole panel though yes. Lowers res...no. Looks fine. I do corners and whole panel.

    Please dive in to it with dialing in the blacks. A detailed video would be great.

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Watch the little video I did on tv calibration...it's the same. Also...can't dial in blacks on a projector...they don't make black. But the other video will help.

    Hey bro, I have a question. I am finishing up my room. I had to redo my shelf that my projector is on so that it is more level. When I plugged my HDMI in I was longer getting a video source but I was still getting audio. Do you have an idea of what the issue could be? I am running a 50ft Ruipro c8k fiber Gen 3 cable. Last week it was working, this week after fixing my shelf and plugging it back up it isn't working. I tried the cable that I have connected to my cube as well still no signal. I put my Cube on my projector shelf with that cable and connected it straight to the projector. Still no video signal. Do you know what it could be? Thanks for your help.

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha. My next video...already uploaded. But if it's longer HDMI make sure HDR is off. Should be anyway. Stay tuned...funny.

      @@TheaterAdvice_FCAV it's a 50ft fiber cable. Will do. I appreciate it.

    • @percybedford6266
      @percybedford6266 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheaterAdvice_FCAV well it was a bad HDMI and a bad HDMI port on the projector. We hooked up the new HDMI to the projector and still got no video signal. So I hooked up my old projector and got a video signal with the new cable. For fun I hooked up my old projector to the old HDMI and no video signal. It is crazy that both went bad. I did have a power outage a week ago. PEC put up a new power pole and sent a message stating that it may cause a power outage. I was working from home when the outage happened. Man that sucks.

    How does the LS 12000 tone mapping stack-up to JVC? Epson uses static tone mapping vs JVC that uses dynamic tone mapping, as I understand it.

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  ปีที่แล้ว

      JVC is better if you like or care about HDR....I think it's horrid on projectors and dims an already not bright enough image too much. HDR is meant for direct view displays.

    • @marvinabugov4579
      @marvinabugov4579 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheaterAdvice_FCAV Thanks again. I quite like HDR on projectors, but like you, I regret that it dims the light output. I’ve noticed and in frustration often asked WHY!! Didn’t understand the implication until recently. Suffice to say, I now turn on “bright cinema” on my Sony 285es to improve HDR.
      As a 13.5G machine, the fan noise from 3 ft. away is o.k.
      However, the complaint now with the JVC NP5/ RS1100 is that fan noise on “high mode to properly watch HDR” is way too LOUD. Same thing on Sony laser projectors and its a huge . . . complaint!
      So, assuming my 285es remains serviceable, I am tempted to wait another year to see what JVC introduces next. In interviews at various times they have talked about developing a new “laser engine light source” and the latest firmware update has been described by them as getting ready for “next generation technology”. Now with their prices dropping - suddenly - prior to Black Friday and Christmas. I have to wonder if an announcement is imminent (a.k.a. late Spring 2024 or at Fall CEDIA?)

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll always maintain HDR is not for projectors under 5000 lm...and even then I don't like it.

    • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV
      @TheaterAdvice_FCAV  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes if you feel like messing with it that much ...still kills brightness and I will always believe HDR in a projector is just marketing since the tech cannot product blacks or anything close to black. HDR on a white screen will be embarassed over SDR on an ALR
