Mr. Potter, I love watching you work. That is skill borne of many hours at the bench- make no mistake about that boys 'n' berries! Regards, Sir! Va. Cork
Steve did you ever work at Andy's shop? Love the way you make this fly. I'm going to give it a try out here in Oklahoma on the lakes. Miss the Delta terribly.
Well, it's kind of like a Goddard Caddis- Madam X which is not a bad thing. You could tie it in other colors and my guess the fish would take it for a big hopper too. Now only if I can get to be half as good as Steve is with deer hair.
Super indicator fly! I am not sure I have ever seen a Cicada. I live in Maine and I don't believe we get them. I thought they only hatched every 17 years or so. Is that true? Do any cicada hatch in the North East? I don't think I have seen one ever! I love to watch you tie deer hair. My wife hates me to tie deer hair. I mostly do it outside so we don't have it in the vacuum cleaner. When momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! All the best to you and yours. Thanks for sharing. Sean
I grew up in Connecticut and we had them in spades there during the dog days of summer. I live in the Bangor area now and I haven't seen any yet, but Im almost certain I heard some at the end of last summer. Sometimes their calls sort of blend in with the frogs.
this fly was in your fly box that you let me look through! so neat Steve! ❤

It looks more like an assassin bug in attack mode
