By producing more, i.e. increasing supply, we can meet or exceed current demand driving down prices. Becoming a net producer of oil allows us to be independent if not dominant in the oil market, leading to lower prices. Those lower fuel costs lower the cost of logistics and delivery, leading to lower costs of goods. Those lower cost of good lead to more disposable income, which is then spent on luxury goods, boosting the economy. They taught all that in school at one point but you may have to google Econ 101 and start reading from there.
