I just screamed out "SCHITT'S CREEK" while watching this and probably woke up everyone. 😂 I just got so excited learning that it's one of carla's faves.
Poor Rapo. He had literally just finished talking to Sohla and fumbled their names. It's abundantly obvious that he can tell the difference between Sohla and Priya by appearance, even if they were both the same shade of purple, they look absolutely nothing alike, and he sees them both often, and has nothing but supportive, good things to say about them both. He's never going to live that down, and some people are taking it seriously as though it means he's racist. I doubt that Sohla meant that as a reference to Rap at all. It's far more likely a dig on culture at the time that Breakfast At Tiffany's was filmed - that movie is as well known for Mickey Rooney's racist af portrayal of an Asian character as it is anything else.
The one with the noodle sliced and shooting into the pot y’all can go see some videos about 刀削面 ( Dao Xiao Mian) it’s a kind of noodle in Chinese cuisine. I think some people still do that in restaurants in China or in like Chinese restaurants!
Yes! I'm living in Taiwan right now, and I've seen people do it just like in this video. More commonly, though, I see life-sized robot-people slicing the noodles, while real people do the rest, haha
You know BA, you've hit a crew of really cool, interesting, thoughtful people, and it's why I'm obsessed with your channel. Great editing, great personalities, just enough conflict to be interesting without being uncomfortable. You've got something special, keep it up.
WOAH WOAH WOAH!!! Let me get this perfectly straight: You comment something that is completely unrelated to the fact that I have two HAZARDOUSLY HOT girlfriends? Considering that I am the unprettiest TH-camr worldwide, it is really incredible. Yet you did not mention it at all. I am VERY disappointed, dear clarence
They didn't have TV or commercial air travel until the 50's. When Breakfast with Tiffany's was made people just weren't as exposed to the outside world.
*Borough Market. Her flat is opposite Borough Market and that's where the filming takes place. Mind you, it only takes about 30 minutes to walk between Spitalfields and Borough.
and there are no market stalls open that late at borough market, unfortunately, but if i can suspend disbelief enough to believe she can afford an apartment by herself in that area, i can believe she buys groceries at borough market after 5
12:22 Funny thing here is that how the story of this movie is actually based on the mistake of the tiffin wala in switching the delivery of the lunch of two people😂
It is one of the most beautiful movies about the human condition I have seen ever... I would recommend it to anyone. It makes you think, it touches your heart and I don't think you should watch it without eating immediately after, or during, with someone you love.
I said it once and i will say it again, i would love to see something like "Pro Chefs Reacts/Review TH-cam Cooks". No-brainers are Binging with Babish, SORTED Food, Mythical Kitchen and You Suck At Cooking and i would love to see even some less known channels like My Name Is Andong and you can throw in there even something like The Try Guys cook without recipe.
They know better than to criticize and alienate TH-cam chefs and risk hurting their own TH-cam channel. They've had Babish on their channel even though the guy clearly knows nothing about cooking. He put SAGE in a lasagna, which is the most disgusting concept I can imagine, and he had to add a disclaimer to his video to tell his viewers not to do what he did. Anyone who knows even the basics of food would know that the flavor of sage is incompatible with lasagna. That was the first and only video I've watched of his.
Disney's animated Sleeping Beauty also has the "folding" joke, in which the fairy Godmothers are making Aurora a birthday cake but they can't use their magic. At one point in the recipe it calls for folding some eggs into the batter, and one of the fairies just places the whole eggs into the bowl and folds/crunches them in there 😂
You need an initiative like in Australia, where you ban all single-use plastic bags and then allow "multi-use bags", that are thicker and use 10x as much plastic and just get used in the exact same manner as single-use bags.
Recently I tasted something on the palm of my hand because I was using a lot of garlic and onion and my fingertips tasted like raw garlic and onion, maybe that cook was using strong flavors too?
Sometimes, when I’m watching a BA video alone, I’ll just start chanting ‘More Sohla! More Sohla!’ like a spoiled child until she shows up. Thanks for not making me do that this time. Still, more Sohla, please.
Mrs. Doubtfire taught me how to cook until I was 16 -- everything was cooked on high and frequently set off the smoke detector. I'm proud to say 10 years later, I no longer burn everything to a crisp.
That noodle technique in Iron Monkey is called 刀削麵 which just translates into knife shaved noodles. It's really common here in Asia, kinda like how Italians roll fresh pasta, Chinese just cut it off raw dough.
The "pressure cook situation" happened last week to my neighbor upstairs. His ceiling got rigged and you could see like an explosion mark made by pinto beans
givememore4free the only reason you see the comments is because they get a lot of upvotes, meaning lots of people think it’s a good idea... not just me 😂
More Gaby please! Best teaching moment - how to fold, "it's exactly like letter 'J'". I've seen people explain folding techniques, but never heard to make a letter "J" and turn the bowl. Best technique and most memorable.
*Weird cooking techniques* BA: "Ya... this isn't really indicative of a real kitchen". *Chopping a block of rice cake into a far away Wok* BA: "OH WOOWWWW!!!!"
In India we grow up hearing the hissing noise of pressure cooker , daily. Using a pressure cooker is like switching on the light for us. It’s fast, easy and so convenient.
You should show them Hannibal (the TV show), when he cooked it was so extravagant and cold in a way... and of course the origin of the meat is very illegal 😂
Seeing Lunchbox featured in this video made me so happy. I love our Bollywood movies (India’s equivalent to Hollywood), and that scene was very reminiscent of my childhood.
