Ive had my Crestone for over a year and love it. Its been through hell...elk, bear, deer, pig, nilgai, etc. hunts and don't understand why it doesn't get more love and attention. I also have a Kifaru Hoodlum (awesome pack but $$$) and the smaller Pnuma Chisos Day pack...but the Crestone fits me like a glove, I shoot my bow great with it on and I have very minor issues with it. I just believe that it is a sleeper pack that seems to fly below everyone's radar that cant be beat value-wise.

100% agree. We agree that is competes very well with the big boys most rant about. Love how well you can organize it and it is very functional. Thanks for the comment. Spread the word! Feel free to use our Pnuma code if you need more Gear! Good luck this season.

How does it compare to exo?

That is a great question. We run Exo packs as well. Here are the pro’s and cons in our mind.
      Pros of the crestone
      - compartmentalization within pack is far superior for organizing gear.
      - size is pretty much the same for 1800 Exo
      - comes standard with hip pouches - Exo does not
      - comes standard with bow sling- Exo does not
      - cost is 50% less and their Cordura weight is actually higher than Exo.
      - comes standard with solar unit.
      - the main compartment opening is a “U” compared to the side opening for the Exo which make accessibility easier.
      - external strapping has unique detachment ability and is “inside” main compartment zippers which allows access with out undoing everything.
Cons - compared to Exo pack
      - Exo lumbar pad has Better ride
      - hip belt wraps around better and sits slightly better due to this
      - too lid sits and rides better
      - camo pattern. - wish Pnuma made it in their Caza camo
      - side storage for sticks. Tripod, tubes, scopes, etc is slightly more sturdy in the Exo.
      - packing / hauling is very similar but slightly better and more padded ride with Exo pack.
      - both offer extension for taller hunters which makes frame adjustable.
      - connection of holster is possible for both with hip belt but fit for our Ivory Holsters is better on Exo as the Pnuma offers more of a Molle connection.
Bottom line, they are both awesome packs. Just depends on what is important to you do with functionality. Cost is huge. If that’s a factor, Pnuma is no brainer.
Hope this helps . Let us know!

Got this pick earlier on this year. Been doing some hiking around with it and can’t wait to get in the mountains with it. Also glad to see a good review on the pack.

Nice review, especially showing how it loads with a normal amount of gear instead of just stuffing it full of clothes. I noticed you said the frame is titanium, but everywhere I've looked it says its aluminum, can you confirm this?

You are correct there. Good catch. Slip up on my part. Pack operates well and rides well. Very intuitively designed with the internal features.

It is H3O20. The H3O is the letter no number and the 20 is numerical.
