It’s hard to build any large scale infrastructure projects when the outer west is riddled with low density suburbia. Unfortunately that’s what happens when the government sell land to developers without any foresight or future planning. All about making quick profit to them, till it costs them in the end. We’ll be spending billions in a few decades to reclaim land and increase density, oh and then build overdue infrastructure to catch up with demand. Most of Sydney will be living west of Parramatta in the next 15-20 years.

That would be nice, although not quite as nice as the shining new underground Metro that is being built in Kiev at our expense.
