- Amanda and I decide to visit Washington State Fair 2022 (formerly Puyallup Fair) in the city of Puyallup, located 45 minutes south of Seattle. We meet up with some friends and do some exploring around, meeting vendors and shopping.
Afterwards, we set out to accomplish 3 goals: Eat a giant turkey leg, check out the contest winning giant pumpkin, and eat a deep fried stick of butter. Were we able to accomplish 3 tasks? 🤷🏻♂️😅

OMG! Haven’t been to Puyallup Fair since I was a kid. Have fun!
The Washington State Fair used to be something fun 20 years ago before everything went corporate and destroyed the small vendors who really made the fair the fair. As for myself I haven't gone for the past few years due to being disgusted with the corporate mentality of the new Fair
Actually there are no large corporate vendors… except maybe Juicys featured in this video. Most of the large vendors at the fair have been there since the beginning. They have just upgraded their marketing. Many of the familiar places from the past didn’t survive COVID, labor cost, food shortages and/or retired.
I think most fairs have gone corporate and it ruined them all ---- thank God the MN State Fair is still traditional
Also before the world population doubled in all major cities
@@AtTheHandle gotta blame Trump for that
@@fredwerza3478 you gotta be joking right?
Giant turkey leg... $20. Watching my friend ride a mechanical bull in slow motion at the end? Priceless! 😂🤣😅
I'd see the animals, but I'd never go during peak hours unless I was medicated with Ativan. Too crowded with rude people. Parking sucks too.
I'm sooo excited to go next weekend!!! 🤩🤩I havnt been in over 18 years!! Thanks for sharing the fun!
Ah hope you have a blast!
You just took me back to my childhood! We use to go almost every year! I miss WA! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
My home town. Lived here pretty much my entire life. One of my fist jobs was at the fair. Before the pandemic I hadn't missed a single Puyallup Fair, spring and fall, in 33 years.😭😭😭😭 It's my absolute favorite! We went back this spring though and it was so good to be back. The turkey leg is my favorite to get. They used to come as the Real Meal Deal with baked beans, a drink and a small dessert brownie thing. It was $16. back then and now the turkey leg alone is $20. It's insanely expensive to go to the fair these days!! If you aren't careful you could spend a weeks wages! 😂
It’s gotten really expensive round here!
Can't get to the fair this year so thanks for taking us along. I grew up never missing the Puyallup Fair, our school in Snoqualmie Valley would actually give out free passes back in the 60's to any school kid to attend. My favorite is seeing the Budweiser draft horses. This is one of your better videos I have watched, good job Dennis. Also, your wife is so pretty so it was a nice treat seeing more of her today.
Glad you enjoyed the video. This video style is quite different from most of my previous videos, as you may have noticed. Anyway, thanks again! ☺️
Shoot i live 6 miles from the fair and never get a chance to go.
I wish I knew about this when I was there... lol... Looks really nice.
Hell Yeah man, the fair is AWESOME... Seattle is looking good man, very few masks, peps getting together... Thanks Mr. Ocean... Love all the new sights... Also Good to see Mrs. Ocean... Take care Seattle people... Awesome city my friend...
👊
Puyallup is not around Seattle SMH
@@bridgetnutter4105 Not from the area, but indeed it seems to be quite a bit away from Seattle... Oh, well, I had some small hope that the people of Seattle were starting to unzombify a bit...
Ed! I thought he was going to show his fudge throwing skills!
You guys are so much fun!
Fair turkey legs are the bomb! My aunt always gets one when we go to the FL state fair or the Strawberry Festival. Last year they were $13 or $14.
now they’re $20. Way too expensive
@@REP46520 everything as far as food goes at the fair is way too expensive. You gotta look at it as paying for the experience as well.
That's a fair that I would like to go to. What a very large turkey leg. It looked great. Deep fried butter is an interesting concept. I'm not so sure about the deep fried Twinkie. Cheers! ✌️
I love the garlic french fries and Fisher scones. I refuse to pay $20 for a grilled turkey leg.
IM GOING TO THIS PLACE TOMORROW YAYYYY
Hey!! I know your friend ed! He’s a family friend of ours! Love the vlog man! So cool!
Small world!
Riding the mechanical bull after eating the deep fried twinky was very brave.😀👍🐂
😂
A brave man you are, Mr Ocean. The heart of a lion and a cast-iron stomach!
😂
What a small world, I know you're friends Anita and Edwin! Haha they are my nieces' Sunday school teachers @OP 😂👌
Awesome!
I grew up in Puyallup and have been to this fair lots. You need to try a Krusty Pup and a Fisher scone!
Oh those are yummy! I will have to go back! 😋
You didn’t show the baby pigs! That’s my second favorite part of the fair!! (Food #1) 😎 DO THEEE PUYALLUP🖤
Just went yesterday was super fun but also super expensive lol
The Turkey leg is worth the price of admission.
Great video as always!
Khop jai!
Should try the earthquake burger at the Washington State Fair.
Food Adventures At Washington State Fair 2022 (aka Puyallup Fair). Interesting and engaging video. I support your video. Watched the video Watched the video on Sep 8, 2022 very like. Thank you so much
Thanks for watching!
ok the deep fried butter sounds Nasty
Doesn’t it though? 🤣
It’s actually really good!! It’s not a whole stick… they just take pats of butter frozen dunk in the batter and deep fry… then sprinkle with powdered sugar!! It’s pastry deliciousness!!!💛
I want to get a Turkey leg, looked very good
The turkey legs are the best
This will be my first year going to the WA state fair! I've heard I need to get scones, so that's on my list, but I'll have to check out some more of those deep fried gems 👀 Growing up, the thing to get at the WI state fair was a cream puff, but I honestly think a scone sounds way better! Looks like you guys had a great time!
Be sure to get elephant ears. Monster burger and scones are great as well. Fried twinkies or butter are nasty - I just wanted to try them. Enjoy!
@@LaoOcean Earthquake burger has been at the Fairgrounds for at least the last 36 years, or as long as I remember anyway, the lines are going to be pretty insane though! I was very excited to see my local fair on TH-cam when I got home today! Y'all enjoy!
@@jessecrocker4704 We almost got the burger burger after the turkey leg and a bunch of snacking we were stuffed! 🤤
Scones are like 28 now instead of being 13 past years
Don’t miss out on the baby Pigs and Clydesdale horses!! 🐖🐎
Marley looks real tasty. Those animals smell big time lol. Great to see your new adventures, it’ll always be the Wallup at the Puyuallup Fair. Peace!
😋
He says "I don't like jewelry" as he is wearing earrings a necklace and a bracelet!!
Pretty funny most of us that live so close to the fair haven't been in a long time,i haven't been since 2016
All the years we lived in WA and we never made it to Puyallup for the state fair. : ( My husband loves a good turkey leg but I don't know about $20!! it was a big leg though!
👍👌😎
I'm the guy who gave you fudge lol
Photastic!
IM SO GLAD I WATCHED THIS VIDEO!!!!! I been wondering if they had deep fried pickles this year I been SEARCHING !!! thank you
Thanks for watching!
Next time try the Earthquake burger and fries!
I remember many many many years ago went to a Night Ranger Concert there
Sister Christian! 🎸
watch the whole episode end to end!
FUN times!
Photastic!
Hii ive worked the fair for years and still am i believe there is a fried butter stand by it self a couple of them actually
Ah I see. We walked the fair and didn’t find it. The info booth also said they didn’t have it. Might have to go back!
You guys look like you were having fun! Thanks for sharing this. I used to work for the fair, I was part of the crew that set up the poles and curtains for the vendors, also the electrical drops (in the showplex). That area that you said was "new" has actually been there for quite some time, more than a couple years! The showplex looks empty, even more than last year. My guess is that the fees for a booth went up AGAIN and vendors can't afford it! When the fair started out, it was ALL about family, but now it's about $$ and I feel that when I go. So, sad.....
Ahh thanks for the insight and clarification. Thinks have gotten so expensive. I understand inflation, but $8 for roasted corn? C’mon! 🥲😃
there is a roaster called Mukilteo Coffee Roasters they make real good Coffee i order from them a lot
Someone do a video on the rides you can go on.
It’s like our Easter show in australia only we don’t have turkey legs Lao 😠🍗🥺🥹😄👍🙂
What bull is riding the bull. Hard to tell them apart.
This last year is going to be my last. The food is so over priced it's ridicules. They wanted $8.00 for a slice of 7-11 pizza, the rides are $60 for the day, and the animal section was closed for the most part. The King county fair was so much for fun.
It just makes me depressed and angry at how expensive it is for a turkey leg nowadays. Like the parking, entrance fee, and concert prices weren't bad enough already. Plus, I usually need to walk around the annoying Christian contingent or protest of the day sign holders at the main entrance. I used to drive six hours to get there before Covid. Now its just not worth it. Fun to watch though.
I'm going tomorrow I don't think I will be getting my annual turkey leg
Might be $30 by tomorrow lol. #inflation
I miss home so much!!! Everyone have fun in Puyallup!!!
I don't even like going over the mountains anymore... The Westside policy's are illegal... Seattle is turning into a sh!thole.
I was going until I broke my ankle. Here in Montana.
Where in Montana? I have lots of family there in Pablo/Polson, Missoula, and Arlee.
