as to your comment about the original series "dark and peppy" yeah it was a common thing back in the day. Unlike the home grown Uk series i watched as a kid things like doctor who and the even darker kids show Sapphire and Steel starring David McCallum and Johanna Lumley. they were not afraid to fill us with existential dread lol and it did make for some great TV
