Are Christian Louboutin Heels Worth it? My Honest Opinion.

  • If you are thinking of buying Christian Louboutin heels, this is my opinion on whether it's worth it. I've tried many pairs and realized Louboutin heels are not comfortable. In fact, Louboutin has said that they are actually not meant to feel comfortable, they are meant to look beautiful. From my experience, you likely won't wear heels you don't feel comfortable in the long term, and in fact you may get more value for your money if invest in quality italian made heels that you can wear all day.

    During an interview I heard Loubi' saying something along the lines of that he doesn't make the shoes comfortable on purpose because he thinks women don't care about being comfortable, as long as they are pretty.
    Turned me off from ever buying those shoes.

    • @StylemeWorthit
      @StylemeWorthit  ปีที่แล้ว +97

      I didn't hear that exact one but I did see a quote from vogue where he mentioned his priority was making his shoes beautiful, not necessarily comfortable. While I appreciate his vision, it just doesn't make sense for me and my lifestyle to wear shoes that are beautiful but not comfortable enough for a couple hours.

      @@StylemeWorthit well, those two-toned heels you tried on were drop dead gorgeous indeed. But really, shoes are made for putting on and do your thing; I don’t want any shoes that force me to sit down all evening. No matter how pretty.
      I recently saw the Guinness heiress ( forgot her name) walking on those lady GaGa shoes, and it looked so weird, because she couldn’t really stand straight.

    So true. I don't know why fashion artists call themselves designers. They're not made to be worn. Clothes created for 12-14yr old bodies isn't designing. High fashion items are pieces and the word 'designer' is used to justify cost. Designers create pieces for paying adults to feel good and look great whatever the size. Designers need to get honest with themselves and customers need to stop paying their prices.

Because in reality, it is a symbol of your accomplishments, to be able to afford the products you'd have to be financially successful in life. Nobody is going to stop paying that much moneyi if it meant they don't feel good about their life.

    They are designed for a specific foot type. That is why most people don’t find them comfortable. But there is a small group that have no problem. Yes they are pretty but not worth it if you can’t wear them. I hate when people try to flex just because they can wear a certain designer/brand. The real flex is custom made.

    A reason is the placement of the heel shaft. In these examples, it is pushed all the way to the back of the show frame. A heel shaft positioned directly under your natural heel acts as an extension of your leg and is therefore a more comfortable shoe.

    • @StylemeWorthit
      @StylemeWorthit  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for sharing your perspective Nisa! I've heard and have friends that own the flats that find them quite comfortable. I think it's just the heels that are not designed to be comfortable (Christian Louboutin himself said he designed the heels to be beautiful and not necessarily comfortable). I've spoken to an ex sales rep and he recommends the same if you want comfortable shoes, avoid the heels and go for any flat options.

    I am a below knee amputee so I have not been able to wear any kind of heel for almost 26 years. I have spent hundreds of thousand of dollars buying almost every expensive designer heel for my daughter. I started buying her the shoes that I could not wear but desperately wanted to wear when she was in Middle School. My daughter is now 26 with a closet full of designer heels that she does not wear anymore because she says the heels are very uncomfortable. I told her she needs to take her shoes to a consignment shop or find people who wear her size(7-8) and bless them with the shoes.

In addition to the people in the comments, she could also consider selling them online through various online consignment stores (e.g. The Real Real), because they can help her sell them to a wider audience and recoup the cost. What's important is that going forward, she knows what made those heels uncomfortable for her (heel height, structure, heel placement) so if she decides to invest in heels later in life, she won't end up in the same position.

    In my personal experience with designer men’s shoes, its basically the same deal. Versace slides- uncomfortable. Gucci sneakers- hard. Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers- uncomfortable. Besides Zanotti, all these brands couldn’t care less about quality or comfortability, their main focus is keeping the brand “exclusive” and creating items that are as flashy as possible for you to gravitate towards in store.

    • @StylemeWorthit
      @StylemeWorthit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for sharing your experience on the men’s side! Brands can sometimes underestimate the value of maximize function with fashion, and I think as consumers we wouldn’t mind spending more on quality made, comfortable, stylish designs because of the value they bring to our lifestyle. Fortunately, there are some brands that operate that way, but they are harder to find, and I’m on a mission to discover and share them with everyone.

    • @mustardvigilante8777
      @mustardvigilante8777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StylemeWorthit as someone who has been extremely critical and honest with my luxury brand purchases, I cannot recommend this enough: if you can, find a local shoemaker or cobbler to make you a pair of bespoke shoes. They will be made especially for you, by hand and usually with generational experience. They will still cost you around the same amount as a loub but i can promise you that the materials will be better, the craftsmanship will be an upgrade and they will last a lifetime. I think people gravitate towards easily recognizable designer clothes to “look rich” and draw attention to how much they spent on a particular garment or item- when in actuality most wealthy people prefer comfort over loud fashion. If you simply enjoy the aesthetic value of a brand like I do, get in touch with someone that can hook u up with a louboutin sample sale. I heard they’re commonplace in LA, NYC, Miami etc

Personally I've always thought the things worth paying for in shoes and clothes are comfort and durability, I'll always save up and pay a little extra for something that will last me longer or be more comfortable but if something that expensive is neither of those things it actively makes it worthless in my eyes.

Even to the point of having 4 Feet Surgeries on EACH FOOT. My Mother could barely walk & her podiatrist said it was all because of her wearing very High & Narrow High Heels 👠
    PS. Having a “MAN” Making a Woman’s shoe is RIDICULOUS. He has NO CLUE what it’s like to ware them. They only make them so they can Admire there work & to see a Woman’s legs look pretty in them. Louboutin's are what my mom called "riding shoes." And you don't wear riding shoes to walk.

    No they hurt so bad. Love Stewart Weisman, Prada and Jimmy choo comfortable and they last a long ass time

      I'm partial to Stuart Weitzman thigh high boots, the specific one I have is amazing and lasted more than 7 years and still look wonderful. However, I've not had the best experience with the Jimmy Choos I've purchased because it hurts after a couple hours. I purchased that one over 10 years ago though, so things may have changed since then. Thanks for sharing your insights with everybody!!

    It’s crazy how usually the cheap hills are the ones that are uncomfortable the fact that you’re paying thousands of dollars to be uncomfortable is crazy to me I thought the more expensive the shoe the more comfortable they are

    I wish I could wear high heels longer. My heels hurts so bad after 5 minutes and I get bad blisters on my toes. Idk how women do it for a long period of time🥺

      Hi Hanami! My Earrings are from AYAI. There are actually comfortable heels that don't cause blisters and I'm actually slowly going through the ones i've tested and creating some new shorts to share them with you all.

      Hi Zahraa! I think it depends on your foot shape, mine is on the wider side, which might be why the brand doesn't fit. Glad to hear they work for you, always love to hear another person's perspective.

    What KILLS me is the HEEL HEIGHT of Louboutins- they would be just as gorgeous in a FRICKIN LOWER HEEL! Same design, just make it 3" or less.

    • @StylemeWorthit
      @StylemeWorthit  ปีที่แล้ว

      They do make them astronomically high! I know what you mean, because my sweet spot is between 3 to 3.5 inches. But I think Louboutins also have them in lower heights, like the 70mm versions (which is equivalent to 2.75 inches).

    I bought a pair of Marilyn's and I don't know how anyone would walk in those! The only time I wore them outside the house I ended up looping a ribbon through the slingback and around my ankle or they just wouldn't stay on!!!

    • @StylemeWorthit
      @StylemeWorthit  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's very frustrating, especially since you spent so much on them. I'm expecially careful when buying sling backs because often they cause more pain and slippage on a heel when not done properly

    They are strictly limousine shoes. If you can’t travel door to door with an entourage to take care of making you as comfortable as humanly possible, Louis b is not for you. Not mention the foot surgery you’ll eventually require from wearing them.
