I'm not happy with the back seats, or the steering wheel issue, but I did end up getting it, just to go with the o-ring ghost busters figure set that I also plan to buy at least one of. I loved the original movie. Now we need a decent firehouse for them...
Thanks for the review on this. Wanted to make some points. 1. The GB figures will probably fit. But maybe only Three. (Driver, Passenger, Rear Back seat) The Steering wheel might get bent at the bottom though. They will be smaller then that Gi-Joe fig you used cause like you said he has a large helmet on. 2. The rear left door does not open because that door on the Ecto in the Movies never opened. There was always Equipment against that door as far as I know so it was made not to open. 3. I do not like how on this new one the Chrome/Silver Edge on the top of the Tail Fin is not there yet when you showed the Older one It was. Why they would exclude that I have no Idea. Makes it look a bit more cheap... Again thank you for this review being up so soon.

Great review! I ordered on release date. Should be arriving this week. I must say I will be a little upset if the figures don’t fit in the ecto-1, especially in the rear.

This thing screams for some light-up flashers and sound features like in the movie. It'd be nice to have an opening hood too for the price. $60 is kinda steep for this. Lookin forward to gettin the 3.75" figs to go with mine and I'm hoping they'll release a nice, detailed, toyetic firehouse which I'm sure won't be cheap either.

Playmobil makes a decent firehouse that works for 3.75 figures.

The Playmobil Ecto-1 has great lights and sounds. I wonder if they could be kitbashed in somehow.
Why they released this and not the figures yet is beyond me.
Because they probably used a modified mold for the ecto 1 that's already been established while the figures is a new mold/process to make and package.
