Honey, if you're still growing your nails, please, please invest in a crystal file. Even if you continue to file with a back and forth action, the Crystal file will seal your nail layers. Using that motion with a cardboard file will actually separate the layers, causing flaking, peeling and other damage. And oil your cuticles. Oil, oil, oil! You can continue to use your rescue product in conjunction with the oil. Good luck!!! Xx

Honey, if you’re growing your nails please invest in a crystal file the crystal file will seal your layers and the cardboard will separate.

I've been using the Nail Aid Biotin Ultimate Strength for almost 2 weeks after breaking my right thumbnail and my nails are growing back a lot stronger. I also use the Pacifica Prime & Harden Breathable Top & Base Coat from their Plant Magic line, it's 16 free, vegan and cruelty free and $10 at Ulta. It also helps my nails grow out stronger so I recommend it if you want to try it.

I like OPI Nail Envy as a basecoat. They also make a Nail Envy formula for chipped and peeling nails, and I use that as well if I am having an issue with weakness. I also use Onyx Hard as Hoof every night around my cuticles, nail beds and under the tips. I have been following this routine for about a year and my nails are super healthy and strong. I don't do gel manicures and the main reason is how damaging they are.

Do you have a daily nail routine? I use jojoba oil and Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream! I swear it probably doesn't do anything but I enjoy having a routine.

I've been been using the CND RescueRXx & other cuticle oils daily! I'm trying to drink more water andI take supplements that are supposed to help with nail growth as well! Other than that... I just wait 😩

I usually use olive oil, coconut oil, a nail strengthener, Bath and Body Works body lotion/hand cream that contain coconut oil and Vitamin E, which grows out my fingernails on a monthly basis by over half an inch even though my fingernails are longer than yours as a special guy. By the way Amanda, do you use Bath and Body Works lotion that contain coconut oil by any chance? For the top coat, I also use Sally Hansen’s strengthening top coat for my nails to grow out.

May I suggest a glass nail file. It won't be so rough on the eggs and helps with splitting.

I bought the Nail Aid Biotin Ultimate Strength based on your recommendation and tried it out about a week ago! Thank you so much for the suggestion! I used it as my base coat and it took about 3 times as long to dry as what I usually use (OPI base coat), BUT I don't care because I do see the difference AND my nails never chipped throughout my whole manicure which never happens to me. I tried it out as a top coat and that didn't go so well haha. And yeah, I've heard amazing things about Out The Door top coat...every time I go into Sally's, they are out of it so definitely getting off of Amazon. And must try that cuticle oil, I've been using CND Solar Oil so the Rx one is next for me! As always, love your videos more than I can say.

Ahh LOVE this comment! I have no complaints about that base coat thus far and I'm so glad to hear it's been working well for you!! I agree, it doesn't make the best top coat -- INM is a MUST try, they have it at most drugstores if you can't snag it at Sallys. I always see it at CVS. It honestly lasts forever. I've been in nail rehab for 2mths now and the weak nails keep splitting and tearing as they grow so i cut them all and waiting for new healthy nails ro come in...post gel allergy..

They came out really good, nice color too. I will have to try the top coat and the CND Rescue RX. I use seche vite for top coat but it gets thicker when it's about half way and I noticed it's like a glob of polish once you put it on.

Thanks so much Rose! Both of those are a must-try. I used to use the Seche vite and it's absolutely incredible...except for that very fact. You're spot on, it definitely gets gloopy about half way :(
