I recently sent this to Bonnie Tyler who I have known for many years. In 1996 I was with Bonnie and some friends when I was playing in a piano bar and they asked me who my inspired me- I mentioned Tori Amos and Bonnie agreed that Tori is a huge talent. I thought so too...but I think it is the lighting...but it really looks like it!
it also has to do with her stance at the piano and the way she pushes her stomach out to access her diaphragm in order to hit those high notes.
Total Eclipse of the Heart is one of the tackiest songs ever written. Tori makes it sound poignant. Brilliant performer.
