Very nice display of Japans Culture and traditions, I am planning a holiday in Japan and the Geisha experience is something I am researching, I find the Japanese way of life very awesome, thank you for sharing and to my Fellow you Tuber nice camera work and presentation :)
Thanks so much for your comment! If you get a chance to come over to Japan, please let me know. Or if you have any questions while your planning your trip I am happy to help if I can :)
@@LetsTravelandEat Thank you for the replay, kind words and offer, I have always found Japan fascinating with its rich culture, if and when life gets back to normal with holidays I would appreciate the help and support in making a holiday in Japan until then take care and keep the films coming I will watch them with interest..!
This is Japanese heritage culture, I really do enjoy the shamisen, and the performance across all geisha, and mako. It’s interesting, the complete turn around of what people think of geishas, I’d say this performance is more enjoyable.
This is literally my dream. I'm still 14, but I hope to learn Japanese soon, and make enough money in the future to have a private dinner with my friends and a geisha, I just love geisha culture so much
Oh wow! It was my dream to come to Japan since I was 10, so I can totally relate. There are some great free online tools to learn Japanese and it is really fun! I hope you get to visit and meet a Geisha, it is such a special experience 💛

Haha so cute how happy you looked in the intro!! Also wondering, do u know anything about the type of clothing the girl who showed u the way in is wearing? To me it looked like the outfit Chihiro in Spirited Away wore when working in the bathhouse.. I never saw anyone wearing that while I was in Japan! hahaha your bow counter, make sure to include that again
Oh interesting! To be hones I don't. In Kyoto many shops and restaurant staff do wear Kimono instead of a uniform. I assume the fabric might be more basic (easier to wash ect) as they handle food and drink and of course the colours would be subdued, so they are not stealing the show... I will see if I can ask someone next time 😉
It was a private experience. Generally you will have to get in touch with an organiser and they will pick Maiko-san and the tea house. So locations often change according to the needs of the group or person booking.
@@LetsTravelandEat at least a couple of hours. I was tanned, which was a problem, then a 36C cup, needlessly to say, the binding was tight!:) the artists were wonderful, my " sister " interpreted everything thing. A truly magical experience!:)
@@LetsTravelandEat my Kimono was Golden, with birds, very heavy silk. The people attending the " fashion show" I was in, loved me ( and some giggled at my height. 5'11"!!!) It was a beautiful experience. Also professional photography was done. Any clues how much that experience would cost now? My " father" owned Cypress woods, I stayed in Oda. My " family " in Masuda had a Ryokan, cafe, and more formal restaurant right next to the railroad station. They had a more western style house than my family in Oda ( at least 300 yes old, traditional style).
Thanks for your comment! I actually think both are nice, I do kinda like when the music is a bit more "modern" sometimes, but of course, the traditional music tells a story with the dance which really rounds off the performance :)
I know, I would have loved to play it, however it was from a recording and with TH-cam guidelines it might have been copy right infringement, so I decided to use this instead :)
@@LetsTravelandEat I have previously uploaded video that got flagged for copyright. I managed to appeal explaining that these songs are 200 years old folk music. There might be CD that recorded these songs but it is ok as long as the music is not directly from the particular CD.
@@LetsTravelandEat Yes it was unfortunate. "Geisha music" has traditional lyrics/stories which the dancer interprets through her movements, gestures and subtle facial expressions. The generic recording probably had nothing to do with the "story" Miehina was interpreting. In Western terms what they do could be termed"performance art" or "interpretive dance". There's nothing random about it.The proper music and dance both go together as a whole experience.
@@Frank-mm2yp thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate it! As mentioned in my previous reply I opted to change the music for copyright reasons, which I learned would not have been an issue. And something I will definitely change in my next videos.
