  • Have you had issues with snow and ice preventing your Hyundai Palisade’s windshield wipers from working properly? If your wipers turn on before you clear your windshield, or if snow otherwise builds up enough below the blade arms, the wipers will simply stop operating. Good luck digging it out with your hands, as those wipers won’t budge from under that cowl manually. Luckily there’s a trick that holds your wipers in the vertical position, allowing you to easily clear the snow and ice from beneath the cowl, ensuring your wipers operate normally, and even allowing you to easily unblock the washer fluid nozzles.

I wonder if that's the issue. My blades are now stuck in that straight position. Even when I use it. It recognizes that the up straight position is its home. It doesn't want to go back into its home by the hood. Not quite sure what to do.

So, in winter, if I want to leave wiper blades off of the windshield. I have to do this.

Just pop the hood. Makes it very easy to clean out the wiper trough.

This is a major safety issue. I have this car. The issue is when it is snowing while you are driving. Snow accumulates below the blades in the trough and the motor senses this and shuts off the wipers. My wife has called me on multiple occasions with our child in the car with non functioning wipers in a storm. She is too short even with a long brush to clean the trough. I would think twice before you buy this car.

Most big SUV's would have this inconvenience. I've seen it on Nissan Murano, Acura MDX, etc. They all have deep well where the snow and nice build up.

@TheMrDudiness Huh? Whatever. Hyundai gave me new experimental motors. They are working great. The working wipers fixed my issue!
