At the very end, Emily still doesnt realize just how bad the exterminations are. Lute killed almost 300 demons herself in just 1 extermination, Vaggie killed thousands herself, yet Emily says "Bringing misery to thousands of innocent souls", she would probably be broken if she knew it was closer to millions of souls
One could argue that Emily is specifically speaking of the percentage of sinners that could actually be arguably and honestly be considered as potentially redeemable, versus the entire global population of hell.
@@Za11oy Even in that case, thousands would imply that the vast majority of hell's population is irredemable, which goes againt the shows premise. I think its more likely just naivety in that she thinks they just go down and kill some people, not wholsale slaughter on a genocidal scale, not 16% of the population in a single year levels.

I think that basically everyone should be allowed to try, my comment wasn't about angels actually putting a limit on that and gatekeeping redemption in that way. But it does indeed seem, from what we've seen that some denizens of hell are very much not redeemable. Either way, it'll be very interesting to see how they handle things going forward!

I absolutely love that Sir Pentious has clearly had a massive crush on Cherri and his insecurity led to him declaring her his arch nemesis.
With Hell being a very hostile environment, it makes sense that a simple crush could be seen as a soft spot or weakness. Coupled with his crippling insecurity, it makes sense that his line of thinking would be “if I’m evil enough, and cause enough destruction, she’ll notice me”
I’m actually kind of blown away by how many ppl just…forgot that adam came up with the entire genocide to begin with. he convinced sera to let him do it, he’s led the extermination since day one, he wants every sinner (probably even hellborn considering lucifer had to make a deal to not kill them) dead.

I mean out of everyone I can understand why Adam hates Hell. Lucifer literally screwed him over and ruined the eternal paradise made for him. Sure it’s obvious he’s an asshole but he was literally first I can understand why he has such a chip on his shoulder. Eve and Lilith were literally made for him. To have them stolen away by an angel I can get why he’s salty.
Then the lives of all his future children are ruined no longer allowed in paradise. Then Hell is the realm of the asshole who ruined Adam’s life. Along with the worst of humanity.
So of course Adam will do all in his power to screw with Hell and Lucifer.

To me they are equals in fuckery, but for different reasons. Valentino torments, but Adam enjoys mass genocide.

Sera's wording made it sound an awful lot like Adam either came up with the idea for the exterminations or at least was a major advocate for it. He performs his bloody 'duty' with sadistic glee, all while acting like he's a righteous individual even as he looks down on the ones he slaughters as inferior beings. Valentino is scum, the worst kind of person, but his reach is much more limited than Adam's. It's like saying a standard-issue pimp is worse than a high ranking S.S. Officer.

I choose to believe that the “Stick it to the man” line was added after Alex Brightman was cast as Adam as a reference to School of Rock.
And it works within the story although it's slightly ironic. Adam did stick it to the man (God) by directly disobeying his order and taking a bite out of the fruit which resulted in him losing his immortality (because he was banished for it and didn't have access to the fruit of life anymore) and subsequently ending up in Heaven when he died. So sticking it to God did get Adam into Heaven in the end xD

My initial thoughts of Heaven: Looks too happy for a place that sends exterminators (don't trust angels)
After the trial: Oh s***! NONE (except the trio) of them knew?!
This episode it a total flip of episode 1, they arrive at heaven, its clean and pristine, and the song is about how "Every day is a happy day", but there is corruption hidden under the surface, compared to Hell where the streets are dirty and crime-ridden, and just "Today is going to be a happy day", but there is compassion and kindness under all the sin. Adam confronts someone and tries to ruin there plan, then the second song takes Adams beat from the first episode, but flips the whole meaning on its head. Finally, at the end of the episode 1's song, Charlie is left thinking heaven supports killing her people, but at the end of episode 6's song, she knows that most of heaven didnt know about the exterminations and they are fighting about it now. *MWah* chefs kiss storytelling

The main thing I notice every time I see this episode is that there is NO ONE else on that walkway to the Pearly Gates. People die constantly, but I have to wonder when the last time someone actually got into Heaven. Something is very wrong in Paradiso.
They do, Peter is there for a reason. But it’s telling that Heaven can have a greeter, and that the only need the one guy to man it.
Considering Angel's sis is there to be seen, it's been a few decades already...

The old standby that's known to all rock fans: There's a Highway to Hell, but only a Stairway to Heaven
My take is that people are still getting up there, but *very* few of them and the rate is getting slower with each passing year. Maybe a small handful every few hours, which is still a ridiculously slow pace compared to the amount of people who die each minute, but at least enough new arrivals that the gates aren't entirely closed.
It may be how they avoid recreating Hell's overpopulation problem - keeping the entry requirements so strict that they can make new living spaces faster than people show up to live in them.

St. Peter _double checked his book to see if he just overlooked it as a mistake_ when he doesn't find Charlie's name.
He was also more than willing to welcome Charlie properly into Heaven... even ENTHUSIASTIC given he knew it was just for a visit... even knowing whose daughter she is, because HE of all people would know a good person can happen anywhere so where they come from or who they're related to is no reason to judge.
He is the first subtle hint that Adam and Lute and the Exorcists are _actually ATYPICAL_ of what Angels are like and what opinions they have.
Assuming this *is* the same Peter as the Biblical one, it makes sense that he would know, given he fucked up *a lot* during his life

5:54, 6:07, 6:27 - I was shocked and happy to see Molly make her debut. It's so sweet and I hope her and Anthony (AKA Angel Dust) meet up someday. It'll be so sweet for siblings to meet. And then Angel will tell about his mobster family .

There is proof that angels can fall, then is it really that crazy to think the opposite can happen. Why not ask Lucifer how he fell since it was the first official fall.
So far as we know in the Hazbin lore, Lucifer’s crime was questioning and defying God’s decision for humanity by granting them free will.

@@sassyghost_8 actually God technically didn't cast Lucifer down to hell, it was the angels that did it, atleast in the story book version which is all we got, but they don't seem hung up enough on what happened since they will allow hell to make it's case.

If you remember the first episode, it was explained that Lilith was Adam's first partner, but then she rejected him and got together with Lucifer. And after that, Lucifer and Lilith gave Eve the fruit of knowledge which was an act so chaotic that it caused Lucifer to be expelled from Heaven. So it makes sense that Adam would be bitter and want to destroy everything Lucifer built.

I adore Emily, she and Charlie have such best friend energy, and I think it will be really cool to have a situation where Charlie is the jaded one compared to her (I’m assuming Emily goes to hell at some point). So having someone even more naive will be an interesting chance for character development for them both. There is just so many things they could do with her and with that kick ass song, well I’m excited.

A tranquil place like that is exactly what I would want from Heaven. A small valley surrounded by mountains with a gentle river and lush forests, walking trails and cozy houses that are scattered enough for privacy/solitude but close enough to easily visit.

I'm actually really glad that you only have the watermark for editing instead of cutting out certain parts of the episode. A lot of reaction people (that I know of) will have a video shorter than the full episode, and if they have two episodes its usually a video still under 20 minutes

My name is Eve, this is making me slightly uncomfortable
Something I notice about Emily is that she doesn’t refer to sinners as demons, but instead uses the words “humans”, “souls”, or both. The only time she uses the word “demon” is in the line “Demon or not, there is no reason to be doing this,” which seems to be an attempt to make Sera realize that demons are still human. It really shows that she’s unbiased and believes that all souls are equally worthy of mercy and compassion.
I hope they realise they were never going to uprise if they didn’t do the exterminations that’s the whole reason Charlie made the hotel to stop the exterminations they brought it on themselves

I’ve been waiting to see this reaction! Man I’m am so ready for the next two episodes. Been just rewatching multiple times with everyone’s reactions and theories. It was confirmed they are getting a second season season as well so we are bound to get more
I'm guessing that the Extermination situation gets more or less resolved this season, and that season 2 will focus on Alastor and Lilith. I'm betting Lilith ends up being evil. Especially since Adam is such a complete chode; they were made from the same dust, so it wouldn't be a stretch for her to be just as rotten as Adam (though likely in a different way, seeing as how Lucifer fell for her).
Either way, I'm stoked!
Charlie is "hellkind" and Adam is Adam and he can do what he want. When she swears it's like "You can't say that!". That's were the hypocrisy begins. And Adam can because everyone knows him for all the good stuff, he probably do in heaven, we don't know that.
But he has not the Brains. Lute is the smart one here and i really like to know what her deal is, cause she has no chill at all.

Angel behaving for the very first time, "babysitting" Niffty is so wholesome, that I got quite annoyed at Cherry wanting him to go back to his old habits, I had the same reaction as Husk when he finally got carried away, HOWEVER, it is important to note that Sera and Emily saw him protecting Niffty, so yeah, he may not be ready for redemption yet, but Angel is on the right path, slowly but surely, I'm sure he will ascend

it could be a grudge against lucifer, but to me it seems more like just a superiority thing. he wants to eliminate everyone in hell bc he feels they don’t deserve an afterlife. possibly has to do with him being the first human soul in heaven and the first human being to be created, that inherently makes him the arbiter of who gets an afterlife and who doesn’t.

I think that the ideal heaven is existence itself. Without final mortality and a duality to navigate, there is no meaning. I think if you haven't seen it you should watch a show called "The Good Place." Best tv show of all time tied with The Midnight Gospel imo. It's hilarious, definitely your kinda humor, but it's also really deep and profound. Similar premise to this show, too. Would love to watch your reaction to it!

I feel like some of the angels would have been a bit on vaggies side if she just told them what Adam and lute did to her. Stripped of her wings and blinded in one eye for refusing to kill a child.
Adam is my favorite antagonist, maybe even my favorite character, because I'm laughing every time he's on screen.

Living in a beautiful self sustained tree house on the beach with calm crystal blue waters, plentiful fish and getting to eat authentic ramen sushi and fresh coconut water cold and always available. With a beautiful lush garden where my cats can roam free and never have to worry about someone hurting them or them getting lost and theres no bugs or fleas or ticks or diseases to worry about and getting to care for my cats and live with my loved ones all in out own perfect haven. My house would have easy fun climbing shelves and ways to get in for my cats and a big room full of comfy pillows and blankets to relax in and watch the sunset and feel the ocean breeze with all the purry babies.
Thought you might want to know about a running theory. In the first episode in the opening story there was one detail ppl noticed. They said eve ate the apple but nothing about adam. Adam didnt gain knowledge and remained ignorant. Thats why he is in heaven, because he is the only human that didnt gain the forbidden knowledge. It makes him an asshole cuz of his ignorance but he, does not have the capability to differ the good for bad. For hime its either black and white, for him he is the good guy.
Fun theory I have is that Adam ends up falling for a similar way to Vaggie and then he tells Sera to let him rise paving the way for other sinners to also rise.
I feel like at that point Sera tells Adam to go !@#$ himself I feel like she barely tolerates him as is.
That said, as far as "similar reasons as Vaggie" I feel like Adam would have gleefully speared that child in the face, and if being a genocidal misogynistic !@#hat isn't enough to fall then the only way it would happen is if Sera was convinced to stop the exterminations and Adam refused because clearly obedience and not moral character is the only thing that matters

That is true nobody in hell has ever mentioned an uprising or anything. You would think that would have been some major historical event that gets brought up as the first extermination reason

@theirishviking9278 I just worry it won't stop at the Exorcists themselves. Revenge or not, they also love power and control and if they _do_ try and invade Heaven? Peace will no longer be an option. Also they'll get their !@## slapped by a seraphim like Sera, but that's besides the point. I do feel like Hell will fight back, but there's a difference between that and setting foot at the gates of Heaven with weapons in hand and troops at your back.
One of the funniest things when it comes to the concept of heaven and hell itself is that its not bound to a religious believe who deserves to be where but rather a moral and philosopical concept. I love it how they portrayed it here with Charlie asking Adam what defines someone as good (or evil) in the first place and that in itself is a relative and subjective question. After all, good and evil are human made concepts which also changed over the ages.

Lucifer was thrown out, he "fell" only because the other angels feared his visions.
i don't know if you can say "fallen" to him when he did nothing wrong but to be an own individual self...
and Emily should not doubt her duty or heaven at all because when she would start thinking over the whole concept, she would also be thrown out like that.

My perfect heaven will be. A place where I can visit any kind of nature at any time. Along with access to all music in existence all tv and movies. My family, and Comicon conventions to happen on the regular with unlimited cosplay making supplies.
