Weekend dive turns into shark encounter on Kauai

- Sixteen-year-old Kannon Allen seems like a typical teenager. He goes to school, makes TH-cam videos and loves going to the beach. His most recent spear fishing trip was all but typical, however.
Its their turf, its their home. I personally don't like going in too deep from the beach. I love the beach and the ocean but I never dare to swim in deep. I only do PWC or boats, only way I enjoy deep water.
I leave deep water, scuba, swimming or whatever else you may think to the experts and scientists.
Even if these accidents or the chance of finding a shark is remote, that's still a chance in my book and as of recent we've seen so many shark attacks all over more common it seems like...that definitely keeps me away.
I have so much respect for the ocean and animals in it that I'm truly hesitant as to swim in deep from the beach.
I'll stay at the beach going in as far as my head can easily stick out and thats it. I still have so much fun.
The majority of shark attacks happen in chest deep water

really it's a shark in the ocean duh dude y that so hard to believe?! this is not so strange if u live out here!
So there are many type of swimmers, the ones that swim smoothly, and the ones that put extra effort (like me), since I paddle hard under water it sends false signal to a nearby shark that an animal is struggling, don't get me wrong, I don't splash hard with my hands like im drowning, its just my feet that are kicking in a weird way and I have to keep moving, I'm talking about 10 feet + water deep. That being said, I did swim in many shores in Kauai.

Drag fish attack sharks. Keep dragging your fish and you will keep attacking aggressive sharks. Get a clue!

@@kilihawaii1390 I use a boogie board set up hooked up to tag line and gun with a fish bag and Kui on top the boogie. Dive flag is mounted to a wood piece with a U bolt that goes through the boogie. after years of diving and many shark incidents this has worked well to keep the sharks from honing in on speared fish. The google can also act as a safety feature in the case you are in need of kicking through strong currents.
