A favourite - 4 great albums - saw them on English tour 1970. Still got The Family That Plays Together album sleeve framed on my wall! Weird to pick the odd number 5 first!
My favorites are their first 2 and then the next 2. My friend stole (how we obtained most of our albums in '67 and'68) the first album and I ended up with it. Played it a million times. The second album I managed to actually buy and played it a LOT also. After that I bought the next two and liked them plenty but was getting into crazier/different music and they never became something in my blood or whatever. All great albums!
Picked up a small pile of their stuff at the record store. Twelve Dreams/Son of Spirit/Farther Along and the 3CD Salvation live thing. Going back tomorow to get more!

Clear/The Family That Plays Together/Spirit/Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus/Feedback/Spirit of '76/Farther Along/The 13th Dream. Saw the Cassidy/Locke-Staley Brothers version of the band at the Aragon Ballroom, Chicago in 1973. Wished I could have seen the original (5) man roster. I am a TAURUS!!!

@@armbreaker No. The band may have had other musicians among the original members, and some of those original members may have come and gone a little, but it was the same essential band making albums up until California's untimely death. Some of them are even well regarded by fans, though I prefer the earlier albums.

Recall the staehely brothers band album which is really spirit with same line up as feedback only far better. California s euro-american is excellent
