Good Morning 🌅 to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR.
Yesterday, while I was on my morning walk up on the hills behind my residence, I had my first ‘LIFER’ on a Treecreeper. Though I do not know what type of Treecreeper it is, I searched for the next best thing - a Green-tailed Treecreeper. This species can be found at high altitude across various Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar 🇲🇲, Bhutan 🇧🇹, China 🇨🇳, Vietnam 🇻🇳, and India 🇮🇳. However it is in Nepal 🇳🇵 where this species has gained significant prominence.
Last week, I had another ‘LIFER’ on a Common Sandpiper. It was resting on a rock just below the beachfront promenade in the New Territories of HKSAR.
The Common Sandpiper breeds much across most of temperate and subtropical Europe and Asia, and migrates to Africa, Southern Asia and Australia 🇦🇺. The eastern edge of its migration route passes by Palau 🇵🇼 in Micronesia 🇫🇲, where hundreds of of birds gather for stop-over.

Love that Red-headed Woodpecker. Those Long-tailed Ducks and Harlequin Ducks are gorgeous birds as well as the Bufflehead. The Horned Larks were very cool feeding on that grain. Being a history buff I've been to Quincy, Plymouth and Lexington. Gotta get up to Salem and Gloucester one day soon. Great video 😊

Salem is kind of a crazy town, lots of history but very touristy as they have really leaned into the whole witch thing. Gloucester is very scenic if you like the ocean.

Thank you! Best of luck with your challenge - 275 in the UK will be very impressive.

I have to believe that due to climate change, the RHW will become more common in NE.

I hope so, but they seem to be declining over the past 10 years, at least in the Eastern US.
