One of the most beautiful jazz tunes ever written.I love your treatment of it and your exploration of the of the exquisite harmonies and changes. You done "The Duke" proud.
If I could attain a 100th of Peter's skill I would be happy.Absolutely astonishing what can be produced with a piano, ten fingers and the this incredible pianist.
Perfect balance between inside /out, straight ahead/over the bar line. Ultimately it's not so "hip" that it ceases to be classy. The audience always know where you are in the form. You expertly walk that tight rope. Very reminiscent of Hank Jones in that regard.
Beautiful colors and arrangement. Is it me or is anyone reminiscing with Mr. Roger's Neighborhood? Amazing how much influence jazz had in that program.
Peter Martin is surely a maestro in our time, I really admire his approach. my aim is to practise a lot and eventually reach this this level of playing....
fabulous Peter. Really fresh and creative... original and person poetry... respecting our history, not ashamed to borrow and be influenced by Errol Garner and the Blues etc, not just like the 1000s of Bill Evans clones or those who "play outside" but don't play/care about the story. You play fresh, creative and do tell a poetic story, that is worth listening to equal or better than the "greats"
Joined open studio recently for the jazz piano / all access. II saw Peter playing skylark with Dianne Reeves and was inspired to study jazz piano seriously
As Peter would say, "Come on, man!" Really wonderful performance. I especially loved the slip-slidin' interplay between both hands. Your chord substitutions were fresh like a t-shirt that just came out of the dryer. The substitution at 4:08 was so hip that I wish you didn't reuse it at 5:03. Seven stars!!
If you measured piano talent like wealth, Peter would be in the billionaire class. But to make music at this level is worth more than any amount of money.
This is why I subscribe. Do it people. Peter is a lovely and giving bloke who doesn’t hold back with the tips.
One of the best pianists in jazz for sure!
Every note, every chord voicing, every passing chord played or implied, every line, so very, very warm and beautiful.Much great thanks...
If I had a million years to practice I could never hope to be that good. You sir, are an exceptional pianist.
Do not underestimate yourself
