There's no need to do all that. On eBay before you get to this page, before you purchase the label, there a printing preferences button up in the right corner. There, you can change to half sheet or with the receipt. You can also change the type of printer for example inkjet or thermal printer. And it'll hold those settings. No need to do this every time.
Label printing preferences What kind of printer are you using? If you are printing on standard letter paper select "Laser or ink jet" otherwise select the label printer you are using from the dropdown list above. What do you want your labels to look like? (box here) (just check or uncheck box)---Shipping label with receipt and instructions If you need to, you can change your answers later by clicking 'Printer and label receipt preferences' to the right of the tabs. That's what I love about these sorts of videos - always learning something I really should have known before, but didn't. In all these years I never even touched that 'margins' option in the print dialog. How absolutely convenient! This will come in handy for sure. And yes, as others have said, there is an option in setting up eBay label printing for only printing the label, not the receipt. Just need to keep track of the orientation in which the printer prints, so you don't accidentally print on the release paper, causing future print problems. This is probably not a concern for people who print on paper instead of labels, but when you crunch the numbers you find that pennies quickly turn into dollars when scaling up. Enjoying the videos - thanks.
or just hit the cancel "X" button on your printer when what you only want printed is printed. Takes a few trys to figure out the timing. Just watch for the edge of the printed label to emerge and tweek your timing to hit X from that. On my HP I have an open little slit between 2 pieces of plastic on the exit tray. When the edge of the exiting paper crosses that slit, I hit X. Makes it so easy. Also, instead of wasting all that unused paper, after you print the one side(1/2 sheet), turn the paper over, flip it upside down, and feed it back into the printer for your next shipping label. Saves a ton of paper....and $$
I print 2 labels per page plus a scan sheet for USPS (they like thar). Great for days with multiple sales. This method let's you update weights and shipping method too. When on your ORDERS, click SHIPPING LABELS on left side options. Then on next page there is sentence at top for shipping multiple labels click on that. it will bring up all your items to ship. you can modify any field by clicking on it. Do a bulk purchase and print ALL labels 2 to a sheet. I print the list too for my daily records. 😊🖒
Great vid, but I don't have the "margins" option on my Brother MFC-J895DW--I've looked everywhere for it. Anything I'm missing? I see you've got a brother but a different model. Thanks.
OMG! Thanks again! I've been hitting the X on my printer to stop it from printing as I intensely watch it print the label, just to save the other half and the ink. 😄😄😄
As of now eBay puts your label in .pdf format, and will print on half of your label paper anyways. In fact even before this change it was only using the half, anyhow. My problem is on a Brother printer when I reverse the half used label the brother printer wont take the sheet in the manual feed tray, and causes a paper jam. The brother printer will only feed if I insert the unused label edge first, then it prints on the used side, instead of the unused side.
For some reason my settings were originally doing a half sheet and now it randomly prints intructions. Killing my ink and sticky labels. Trying to fix this right now. Hopefully this works
Peace great youtube tutorial. Since 2017 eBay has changed the look of its pages. etc. I am trying to figure out how I can do what you just demonstrated, Using a Mac and a downloaded Shipping Label in PDF Format, or for example Printing from the browser? I tried to locate the Margins option but I couldn't. I have a Mac Pro 3,1, running El Capitan and I have Adobe Acrobat . I am an online seller, I sell on eBay, Poshmark etc. Can you help?
I get free labels and use thermal printer, so I don't pay for ink when I print usps labels and I print packing slip using thermal printer so I don't pay for paper to print the packing sips

This tip is so good, I've been using a printer for year and didn't realize I could adjust margin to custom!

I don't get the option to change the margins on the print page. Guess I'll have to see if the printing preferences part works.
Dang, sorry Joseph, i wish all settings were similar
@@dailyrefinement I agree
Not sure what my settings are, but all I've ever printed was the label, with no instructions. I'm on Mac as well. Weird.
Thank you! I tried to do before and couldn't figure out really appreciate it!
