    Great video, best of all videos on this model. No need to remove wires in step 2. I would buy the white tool to remove the frame as I damaged it in a few spots. My LEDS looked perfect, yet they were bad and the TV works great now. Thank You!

      I’m back 😂, my replacement lasted 2 years. Just ordered new LEDs about to replace again. This time ill make sure my backlight setting are 50% or lower to put less strain on the lights.

      I have searched far and wide for the individual screen parts to repair the burns caused by the bad LEDs. Replace those 2 pieces and I have a practically renewed TV with hopefully another 10 thousand hours of use left. But the burn damage ruins a TV that had a wonderful picture until a few weeks ago. Certainly those screen parts can be bought at a reasonable cost like the LEDs are!!!!

    • @rifat1274
      @rifat1274 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kx5e same here. I got bright spots below due to burnt diffuser.

    • @kevinkeryk
      @kevinkeryk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The burned diffuser is certainly a problem for making this a 100% successful repair. I saw those burn marks make "shadows" in the picture where the full amount of light from the LEDs do not reach all areas evenly. I also tried to flip the diffuser 180 degrees so that the burned spots are at the top of the display, but this isn't 100% perfect either because the light goes against the diffuser gradient and you get more light coming out of the bottom than the top. I am not satisfied with the repair on my TV, but unless you can find a new diffuser panel, I think this is probably as best you can achieve for the repair on this LED problem. Would be great if someone posts where to find the diffuser panel, but I would imagine that shipping would be expensive for a such a large object.

  • @electroshed

    Thanks for the video, I think my panel has gone the same way, now I know it's this much ball ache to fix and might still not be right with burned diffuser issues, tossing it and buying a new one! lol

    Thanks a lot for this video. The problem on my Samsung 55inch is not the LED's but the backlight is emitting or shining through the reflector sheet or I guess through the reflector plastic sheet which result in a light dot on the screen as it gives me the impression a plastic sheet behind the TV panel is overheating due to the LED's. In this case what needs to be replaced, or both. It is also said I need to replace both sheets. Please advise. Regards 🤝

    Hello,
    My Samsung TV - GQ43Q60RGT - won't boot after i installed new Edge LED stripes.
    I tested some things.. If i pull out one Panel Cable the TV boots and then i can put it back in and the tv stays on, but the display has some bugs (stripes on the right side and the complete screen looks buggy.
    If i let everything connected the TV is not booting. It's booting until sound is coming up and then it interrupts and trys to reboot in a loop.
    I did the replacement very carefully to not break anything.
    Maybe you or some people here have some ideas what the problem could be?
    Before the replacement the tv worked fine. Only problem was the edge led on the right side.

    So is this even if when I turn the tv on and do the flashlight test I see minimal picture and when I first turn the tv one I get a split sec of brightness? I still not sure weather it’s an issue with a coMponent on the power supply or the LED strips. Thanks for another great video.

    @3:22 it looks like your reflector sheet was damaged by the LEDs getting too hot but I can't tell for certain, however I don't notice it upon reinstallation. Was it in fact damaged by the LEDs and if so did you replace it all together or just let it ride as is?
    Also while I'm here, I really enjoy your videos and the amazing customer service from your website

    • @envieddesigns

      I had one side of the LEDs out on my 40” version of this model and noticed the side that was still working had actually melted my reflector sheet. I wonder if it was some sort of surge that caused one side to go out and the other to overheat? I ended up replacing the bad led strip and the good while I was already in there and now I notice the side that the reflector sheet is burned on you can see it on the TV only when there’s a white picture showing. Can’t complain though it was a great fix for $18, I almost got a new TV when this happened. 3 yr old tv.

    • @emirosmic5245
      @emirosmic5245 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not burnt, it's partly broken. You can see it when he starts to lift reflector sheet on 3:48. It probably broke while he removed filter frame.

    wasnt the plexiglass diffusor melted in places where it nearly touches the led diodes? i've had that problem with samsung vision 7 series, not the greatest concept. in some cases it was burnt to the point it wasnt passing the light and that type of plexiglass diffusor is hard to get where i live. great vid by the way 👏👏👏

    We have a Samsung un55nu6900. While watching tv there was a loud pop and the tv died. We have taken it apart and it doesn't look like anything is burnt but not sure if the pop would happen when led lights went out. Not real sure what needs replaced. The power cord was tested as well as the fuse and they seem to be good. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

    • @weeeves

      Sounds like your power supply board. Could be just a radial capacitor failed but it would be easier to replace the entire board. You can find them on eBay for $25 (used) to $50 (new). Just make sure to discharge the large 450v (?) capacitors before handling the board because if you inadvertently touch the pins, they'll bite you pretty good ;-).

    How to remove the panel without suction cups? What to use at home?

    I have never done this before but I took my UN55NU6900 apart and replaced the led strips. 25% were not working. Took my time, about 3 hours and voila I now have a great picture and spent less than $20 cad. My TV only had one board on the back though, I guess it does everything.

      No, I attempted this repair and you do not have to remove those wires after all to complete the replacement of the LEDS.

      This video is only to show how led strips are installed, that crack would mess up picture and also plastic piece is burned from led strips

      I'm having the same issue but the opposite. I'm guessing the sheets or the glass isn't properly secure ceasing the travel of light

    • @josuemontalvo221

      @@theri0n I fixed it. Problem was with the thick piece of plastic that has one hazy and one clear side. Make sure the clear side I think is facing you and make sure the line running across is on the top side not the bottom. I also had the order of the other sheets wrong.

      If you have a wall mount TV, just use the spacers and bolts from your wall mount. hardware.

      If you don't have your mount screws, check the TV's manual for their size (VESA mount). M6 is the most common size in this class.

    Guys….i just changed the leds last night on my samsung 55inch but i am disappointed with the tv color feels like a cheap tv and the reflection flex sheet had few burns so now it’s bleeding light on screen. i think i need original led and flex sheet to fix my tv. any ideas if i am wrong?

    • @pp3v42_g3h
      @pp3v42_g3h 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You won't find a new reflector sheet, it's always burnt if the led dies. Get a broken one with low hours and transfer the lcd. These are real garbage products. The color temperature can be adjusted in the menu, but probably the old led was discolored and the new is simply different.

    This TV is fairly heavy. It really surprises me how few screws are holing it together at any point of this repair. This is my first Samsung repair, but Vizio and LG TVs are a nightmare!

      This looks very similar to a multitool that you can find at the hardware store for doing tile work and paint removal. I have had one fore nearly 17 years now and they are extremely useful around the house.

    What are the wires for?

    • @kevinkeryk
      @kevinkeryk ปีที่แล้ว

      The wires that loop in and out of the metal frame are what the plastic back cover clip into rather than use any screws to connect the back plastic cover to the metal internal frame.

    • @SterkeYerke5555
      @SterkeYerke5555 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get them on Aliexpress or eBay quite easily. There should be a number related to the strip somewhere inside the tv. Mine was BN61-13352A. Otherwise, just search for your model number or the number of a very similar tv (I've got a UE32M5690, but fitted the strip from a UE32M5620 which turned out to be either identical or at least compatible). Oh and if you do decide to have a look inside the tv before you buy the strip, try to find out how many strips you actually need. It turned out my tv only has backlight on the left side, while I expected it to be on both sides.
