I’m about to tempt this without a roller lol. I have about 61 grams of 24k gold to mess with.
It was a 10 ounce bar, cut the rest of it off with bolt cutters and sold it.
Love your channel and the gold you experience with.

Nice. Glad you kept a chunk! I'll tell you my roller was an Amazon special. I think a hundred or two? But you can for sure hammer it down just make sure to heat and quench cause even 24k gets hard af after a few hits with a hammer!

@@SmartBettsPM yeah I’m doing it right now haha, also it tries to fracture, I’m just using camping propane lol, I am using your tip for quenching. It’s stretching out though I’m not worried about the little tiny flakes. I want a ring like yours! How much does your ring weigh? I wish I had your roller, I was tempted to buy it a month ago but was like fck it if I can save money on not having the roller. The roller would make it super easy, how did you solder or braze it closed? Do I need a hotter gas or lead free flux? It’s Gonna be a thick boy 💍

@@evandence I'll upload a quick video of my equipment later today when I'm off work. I have a little torch I bought from Lowe's that takes map and oxygen tanks. They sell the little bottles there also. The oxygen really makes the map wayyy hotter. I'd imagine adding oxygen to the propane would do the same. Need a touch that takes two bottles though. That can really melt na oz or two of metal without too much time. I have a little map bottle hooked directly to a torch that I can anneal with. It is slower but saving the oxygen is important it runs out way faster.
As for fusing I'm still learning. I've never added solder. Lots of people buy 22k solder but that doesn't seem right to me. And 24k solder is just 24k gold. I've been using a mini jewelers torch that can really make a hot small flame and just being extra careful. Bit I mess up often still.
The thicker items like a ring seem to handle the fuse without deforming unlike the smaller stuff. Just push the ends close together and hope for the best!
      I wanna see results!!

Rolling mill. Mine was from Amazon. Probably the cheapest you can buy around 300 USD
