NCT unit:
1. NCT U
- the first sub unit
- debuted on April 9, 2016 with "The 7th Sense" (Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Mark)
- doesn't have a fixed member (the lineup keeps changing for every song, depending on who fits the concept of the song)
2. NCT 127
- korean based sub-unit
- debuted on July 7, 2016 with "Firetruck"
- 9 active members (Taeyong, Johnny, Doyoung, Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, Haechan)
3. NCT Dream
- the teenagers sub-unit (below 20 in korean age)
- debuted on August 25, 2016 with "Chewing Gum"
- originally once they reach 20 (korean age) they will graduate from this unit but SM removed the graduation system in 2020
- 7 active members (Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, Haechan, Renjun, Chenle, Jisung)
4. WayV
- China based sub-unit
- debuted on January 17, 2019 with "Regular"

NCT U is a rotational unit, all the members can participate since they will be Picked for every song, comeback or performance based on if they fit the concept.
For example, Vocalists for a ballad song, rapers for a hip hopy song, dancers for a EDM song, and etc.
NCT127 is the S. Korea based unit, since the 127 means the longitude of Seoul. They mainly promote there, but they also promotes in U.S.A and Japan, often release some english ver. Of their songs, and they release mini albums in Japanese.
NCT Dream used to be the "teenagers" unit, but SM changed a bit their concept since they all are adults now, Mark and Haechan are in both NCT Dream and 127 as well. This is also a rotational unit but only among their 7 fixed members.
WayV is the "chinese" based unit, they promote mainly there, they are "c-pop" group, but also promote in S. Korea, and they often release some korean or english version of their songs. WinWin is a member for both WayV and 127, but hadn't been active in 127 since WayV's debut.
Other fun facts are:
TaeYong is the leader of NCT, and leader of NCT 127. Kun is the leader of WayV and Mark is the unofficial leader of NCT Dream.
Taeyong, Mark, Lucas and Ten are part of SuperM, among legends like Baekhyun and Kai from EXO and Taemin from Shinee.
