    Jordan- thanks for posting these about Iceland and Greenland- between this and talking to all of the passengers who did the crossing as well as the next cruise out of Boston that we were on (and met you)- we just took a crossing that went to Iceland and Greenland. One of the best of the best cruises we've ever done! So, again, thanks for the information that led to us taking that cruise.

I was lucky enough to be on voyager back in August for an amazing Baltic cruise and I can’t thank you and all the other crew members enough who work so hard to make our holiday (vacation) so special. We sailed to the Canadian Maritimes and Greenland in late August (from NYC). We made port calls in Greenland at Nanortalik and Qaqortoq. Big icebergs everywhere - so stunning. Our first scheduled stop (of 3) in Greenland was supposed to be Nuuk, but after sailing most of the way there, on the afternoon before we were to arrive, the Captain announced that the port call was cancelled because of weather (mostly, high winds). So, we got an extra sea day on a rocky, windy, cold, very foggy ocean. The foghorn was blasting nonstop for several days. Hey - it's Greenland!

    • @jbauth
      @jbauth  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      we also were supposed to stop in Nuuk! so sad we couldn’t make it, but still enjoyed my 1 day in Greenland :)

    Fun fact: the Voyager class was never intended to visit tender ports. They specifically designed them without any of the elements needed. All of that has been added in drydocks in the last 10 years. Before that, the ships could only tender with boats hired from the port.

    • @jbauth

      wow thats crazy! thanks for the info, I would've never known this :)

    • @RyanHolliday211
      @RyanHolliday211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jbauth anecdotally, I was told that the first time Voyager called at a tender port (where they would hire those local boats), everyone forgot that a tender gangway would be needed and there was no way to get the guests onto the tenders so the ship just left 😂

    Being from Greenland, I can help you with the city name. Qarqortoq is pronounced KRA-KOR-TOK... ish. Anyone from Greenland would understand that anyways.. hehe. Prince Christian Sound is one of my favourite spots here in Greenland, but then again there are so many stunning sites and areas here. The disco bay, with all the whales, seals and HUGE icebergs are definately my number one spot. The icebergs you see on your excursion, are ice-cubes compared to the ones in disco bay.

    Hi Jordan, Please answer this skating question I’ve had for a long time. Why do you pro skaters seem to always and only twirl clockwise. Is it a “most powerful leg” issue, northern/southern hemisphere or maybe a “lefty vs righty” thing? I love your enthusiasm in your videos, it’s wonderfully contagious.

    ROTFL ... "we are in (this) port". OMGness!!!!!!! I wonder if that is a translation from the native language, which makes it difficult to attempt. Upon further research, for my knowledge, it couldn't be simpler. It is pronounced something like “KAK-or-TOCK.” So easy, right?!?!
