      Never put off making a recipe if you're short an item! You could use mushrooms, cauliflower, etc. or simply omit the tofu, use jerk seasoning in the pasta and have rasta pasta.

    Yum! What does that jerk seasoning (JCS) have in the paste? You could just use a dry seasoning and add broth or something as a substitute I guess? Or does the JCS Boston Jerk have something special to it? Trying this tonight!

    • @cheezheadz3928
      @cheezheadz3928 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jerk seasonings vary and Im sure this doesnt have anything necessary to the recipe (you could google the ingredients). Use dry, but no need for broth since recipe calls for oil.

    Do you have to use cheese or can something else be used in its place

    I live here in the Bahamas and the Violife vegan cheese I don't see that brand of cheese in our stores. Can I use any other vegan cheese to replace that. Thanks. Also I like your recipes but some of the ingredients are hard to come by so I would like for you to say if there can be a replace for these ingredients that are hard to find. Thanks again.

    • @AuthenticPlantbasedEats
      @AuthenticPlantbasedEats  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, you can use any brand vegan cheese available in your area. As far as the other ingredients that might not be available in your area, you can always comment and let me know specifically what those ingredients are and I’ll will let you know the replacement. You’re welcome and thank you.

    TFS...why did you choose liquid amino (soy alternative) but you are using soy(tofu)...just wondering

    I think at this stage baking tofu is best for me because my tofu always crumbles when fry ending up with scramble tofu lol I have no luck

    • @AuthenticPlantbasedEats
      @AuthenticPlantbasedEats  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      😄, just do what works for you dare. As I told you before when it comes on to frying tofu you have to make sure that the oil is hot and try not to flip the tofu on the other side if you’re getting resistance. Wait until you can easily move or flip the tofu this will also prevent if from turning into scrambled tofu.

      I find that Nasoya extra firm tofu holds up very well

    • @psychattack3381
      @psychattack3381 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Freezing firm/extra firm tofu in the packet, then thawing it out, then using a tofu press to remove excess water will completely change the texture and make it very firm.

    I used to sell a very similar dish. Sometimes I would make it with tofu, sometimes tempeh, and sometimes TVP.
