So the "story" of the song is a couple who were together but Jane suddenly committed suicide and so the guy starts reading her diary but can't find anything about him in it. So he starts to question if she loved him or even ever cared about him because her innermost thoughts that she wrote down never mention him at all. He's trying to find his place, where she talked about him, in the diary of Jane.
Yeah and he was basically asking himself what he couldve done to prevent her suicide, but he is just keep sinking in questions cuz the diary Never Said anything about him. Jane had no place for him because she didnt even have Had Place for herself
Every millennial has heard this song at least 100 times. Im still a huge fan of it
No. They haven't. Trust me. It's a continuous frustration of mine. Especially the further west I went. I'm a Midwestern (just east of the Mississippi in upper Illinois), and when I fell in love with them I was in that area for their first album. And believe me a die hard bb girl not even every butt rock genre fan that's a millennial, even my age (36) knows who they are. And we had even more time. Perhaps the younger than better, but I was a rock goth (yes oxy moron at the time-cheerleader) and all my friends were rockers.

These guys are awesome live. My last concert was a BB acoustic session. These guys played almost 2 hours and then did a meet n greet

A little trivia fact. The producer/mixer of The Warning's latest EP and soon to be released full album is the same producer/mixer for three of Breaking Benjamin's albums. One of the albums is this one entitled "Phobia". He also was the producer mixer for Paramore's "Riot".
Bendeth produced Breaking Benjamin's second album, 2004's 'We Are Not Alone,' as well as the third, 2006's 'Phobia.' Both have been certified platinum. He also produced/mixed their 2009 album "Dear Agony". His studio in Lake Hopatcong, NJ is about 40 miles from my house.

I can't judge music like you can, but the whole reason I got into BB is becase back in like 2004 they were on tour with Evanescence and they stole the show. They were so good and nobody knew them at the time. They even had some meet ups and CD sales afterwards and Ben asked me for a cigarette. Stupid little anecdote, but cool as well.

Its a drop tuning,a lot of their stuff is. They have a few songs that are completely weird tuning tgat i don't even know if its a thing other than by them

Yeah 80% of breaking benjamin is drop c and drop b. My teenaged ass destroyed my poor little $120 strat and now can fit a textbook under the strings on thr 12th lmao.

Not one of their best songs though. Good song,not close to their best
I've seen a good share of rock bands live including Breaking Benjamin twice and they are beyond doubt one of the WORST sounding bands I've ever heard live, in fact, they are in my bottom three worst live performances ever. I got suckered into seeing them the first time when they were the only headliner. The second time I only saw them because they were one of several headliners performing and they were the worst band of them all. The lead singer's voice is weak and pitchy live and the band is flat and lifeless. The aggression and hard rocking in the studio versions of their songs are missing in their lives. It's like you say David, the studio version is over processed, but the live version is even worse because it's under processed and under whelming. Edit to say I'd rate them in the 2 - 2.9 range on you scale for live performances.

This was one of the first songs I listened to as a teen that really got me into music, haven't heard it in a while but man, the nostalgia.
With Breaking Benjamin, Skillet and Nightwish all that's missing is Three days Grace and you'll have covered my entire playlist from 2008-2014
