Just got the simple DW5600 3 weeks ago, and now I have a hard time choosing any other watch to wear daily. They handle my work so much better. I can’t believe I waited so long to get one of these. It was so inexpensive, but to me, it’s invaluable. That gold one is absolutely off the hook awesome!
Got my silver one at Macy's last week. And I sorta work for the Sunglass Hut inside a Macy's, so I get a discount on the watch. Basically got it from $500 to about $323. I almost went for the gold one, but I don't wanna draw hella attention to myself even though the gold looks fantastic. Either way, heck of a watch. I also have the resin combi version.
I have the silver one as daily beater. Very comfortable, and good display. The phone app is a nice gimmick, but not really needed, unless you need it for syncing (if you are not in range of the radio signal). You can also set up custom timezones via the phone app. My only gripe: the silver one has two background-light LEDs, a white and a red one. But the red one cannot be used for the default background light. Its only used in special cases.
I felt the same way about the gold version UNTIL I saw it at my local AD. It was love at first sight, and I ended up buying it the next week. It hasn't stopped there because I just put on layaway the titanium camouflage version last week. I also intend on getting the silver version but I wanted to secure the titanium camouflage before it went bye bye. These full metal g-Shocks have struck a chord with me. I really enjoy these watches, they have a very sexy look and feel!
Metal Squares are so cool and I think there is an additional 2 more releases towards the end of the year that might include the porter GMW-B5000TFC (red detail on dial pos display) on a rubber strap and a grey dial detail version pos display. I have found myself wearing G-Shock Squares over expensive Swiss mechanical watches 😯
Totally get what you’re saying rob . Initially thought love the metal and the gold looked cheap and tacky . Seeing it in video I’m really warming to it and think I now really like it ..
I love this GMW series. You mentioned there is a gold tone GMW on a strap but that has to be that Limited Edition Kolor collaboration which is now impossible to purchase. I would love to have a Gold GMW. :D I have the same set at this moment as you have. :) Regular GMW on a bracelet, and negative display GMW on a urethane strap.

Got to check out the new squares with metal bezels at Topper Jewelers during a G-Shock meet a few weeks ago. They are pretty nice 👍🏼 with the new carbon series, I'm hoping for a carbon square in the future - how sick would that be? damn!

I'm having a heck of a time finding any information regarding a resin strap that would be compatible. Do you know if there are any rubber or resin straps that fit this watch? I looked at the gmwb5000-1 but I don't think that strap is compatible with the gold. Any info you have would greatly be appreciated!
I just cannot stand the buttons on the DW-5600. I got Mr. Ibe to sign the box it came in, but that doesn’t improve the buttons and use ability. I’m glad your squares have such better buttons. Where I go over the top is to use my mudmaster GG-1000 as a daily driver at my desk job!
Only GMW-B5000GD-9ER G-SHOCK by CASIOwith the negative display is looking good, but not that in a silver color! But I go with my first G-SHOCK GST-B200-1AER in stainless steel!
I'm still gawping over the full metal squares. As much as I love the gold, I'd prefer the steel for everyday use because you could buff out fine scratches with a Cape Cod polishing cloth. Just keep away from the brushed parts and only polish the mirror finish.
You know what I just got finished emailing Casio because the screws on my gmwb5000 with the rubber strap keep coming loose and rattling about, how come my dw5600 is built better than my 400 dollar Casio I’m really pissed off
Random Rob hey buddy how the heck did you get yours off?? I use two screwdrivers but they literally won’t budge they’re glued! Lol I’m just chewing up the screws so I’m done playing with it, what’s your advice?

I have both gold and silver and love them. Plenty of compliments. I prefer the silver as daily wear.

You can't go wrong with any G-Shock, as long as you like the looks of it. As soon as I bought one - I can't stop wearing it. Casio > Rolex.

The gold one looks the best. Looks... differently in better ways. Silver looks like almost any other watch around. Have the 5600 Half Sulver

I have a DW 5600 that I coated in matt black steel with old patina, after three years there is no scratch, it looks fantastic at a much lower price.

All of the rubber straps for these models fit all the bracelet models. The screws are very tough to get out, but can be done

@@sl1237 Plating will wear out eventually if polished. It might not be the first time you do it, but it will happen over time.
