Man…I’m glad that Hurt Syndicate won but Private Party was booked like crap for years even before winning the belt. They were red hot 4 years ago when they beat the Bucks and then someone had an “idea” of putting them in faction. After that….lost in a shuffle.

So what happens when the Bucks return? They aren't going to go against the Syndicate. Looks like they'll put those newly won New Japan titles on a pedestal over the AEW belts so the Bucks never have to face the Syndicate.

The only reason Private Party where the champs was because the DoucheBucks didn't want to drop the titles to the Outrunners who were over at the time, or the Hurt Syndicate, because they are the only serious time in AEW. Which also means after Shelton and Lashley have wiped out everyone, Rod and Todd will return to be the "saviors" of AEW's Tag division.
Only problem I have is it should’ve been mvp and Shelton holding the straps while Bobby went for the world title or even tnt belt. We will see how tumbles fumbles this one.

Shelton Benjamin was already the best wrestler in AEW from his first week. His only two competitors were functionally retired, and one of those two was his manager. However their booking does or doesn't go, I hope he and Bobby Lashley can resist going the way of the clown.
They made a big deal about Private Party winning the titles just for them to do nothing and not have any memorable feud or storyline. I hope the same doesn't happen to the Hurt Syndicate. Knowing Tony's booking history though its very likely.

Tried and tested heel move (which I don't believe I've seen on this show, but I miss more than I see) for padding out a squash match: pin your opponent and then lift his shoulder on the two count and keep recycling the punishment. Possibly not applicable to the Hurt Syndicate at this stage because, as Jim intimates here, the groundswell of audience support has already elevated them to face status to all intents and purposes.
Fun fact, these are the first set of major tag titles that Bobby Lashley has ever won. Yeah Im glad Lashley and Shelton won, but boy that Private Party push fizzled out quick as hell! Now, pivot and have the Hurt Syndicate destroy Dick The Boozer and his gang and become the biggest babyfaces in the company.
It seemed like once PP won the tag titles, AEW just didn’t know what to do with them. I feel like the Bucks were going on hiatus, and probably told Tony “give it to Private Party” who didn’t really have much steam behind them at that point until they worked the Bucks and people remembered they’d been there since day one. Hurt Syndicate having the titles is a way better move and whoever beats them for the titles is a made team.
You would think Bobby Lashley who has been a world champion everywhere he's been should be in the world title picture. Shelton should have the TNT title and bring some value to it. The tag team division is so lackluster I don't know who they could put them with that's even over enough to want to watch.

Hounds of He'll, Gates of Agony, Callis Family, Kenny and the one dude, FTR, Gates of Agony, ... aew has the roster. Just need the booking. Hurt Syndicate is the most dominant... keep it that way for about 6 months then have them finally run into FTR... if FTR can get out of obscurity.
Have them run through smaller teams, out wrestle big teams. Definitely need to remain heel, or turn ftr heel .. organically. Lashley is still a baby face... but, that's how you eventually break them up if you want. I wouldn't.
To compete with THS u have to put them in feuds against FTR, Buddy & Brody, Morrissey & Morrison, Archer & Fletcher that’ll last all of 2025 and part of 2026 with squash matches against Top Flight, Dork Order and the rest of that division.
@@cnewtoneov the lucha wrestlers are too small, the asian wrestlers outside of Take is too old and the black tag team wrestlers are too small. Hobbs Lethal and Swerve are singles and finding a way to make them team up is too hard for TK.
Private Party got absolutely shafted by the booking. Really sucks for them and not their fault. Now want to see the Hurts destroy the Moxley Bunch 2-on-5 at the next ppv.
I'd like to see the hurt syndicate add Powerhouse Hobbs as the 4th member and just collect every belt possible. That would probably be great business for them, but this is AEW we're talking about. It should have been a 3 minute squash with Private Party trying and failing to survive that whole time but at least the right guys went over. Bobby and Shelton are the best thing on AEW Dynamite each week. It's like 2 pro wrestlers have invaded a children's amateur backyard promotion. It's refreshing to see professional wrestlers - guys who look like wrestlers and work like wrestlers - in AEW. Sure they have had guys like Bryan Danielson but in AEW he was mostly doing Indy style garbage matches and trying to put Jungle Boy over which was too painful to watch.
They need to turn them face... I hate to play Booker but I would have the Callis Family attack The Syndicate... Cage and Archer then there you go instant babyfaces... I wish Private Party had a longer title run but at the same time I’m glad Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley won the titles as they add more credibility to them and they get to add another title to their belt (pun intended).
I'm happy the Hurt Syndicate won the world tag team titles. The problem was Private Party has too much offense. Lashley & Benjamin should've been booked like the Road Warriors circa 1986 and PP were the Mulkeys. 😆

I’m sure this was the direction they were going in for the tag titles and the bucks probably didn’t want to do the job where they look like private party did so they gave the titles for them since it looks like private party were just transitional champs.
Shelton Benjamin was already the best wrestler in AEW from his first week. His only two competitors were functionally retired, and one of those two was his manager. However their booking does or doesn't go, I hope he and Bobby Lashley can resist going the way of the clown.

They made a big deal about Private Party winning the titles just for them to do nothing and not have any memorable feud or storyline. I hope the same doesn't happen to the Hurt Syndicate. Knowing Tony's booking history though its very likely.
Nobody will care but Private Party has been booked so trash that its funny. Whats even more funny though is that the Syndicate has to win the tag titles instead of winning singles including Bobby beating Moxley
I would have said that Tony didn't book Lashley vs Moxley because they are both heels, but Tony really doesn't care about the dynamics. So who knows?

I've seen comments about the Bucks giving Private Party the belts, but I've seen comments here and there saying the Bucks wanted the Outrunners to win the belts because they got over with the fans but Tony was dead set on putting the belts on Private Party. Has anyone else heard about this?

Tried and tested heel move (which I don't believe I've seen on this show, but I miss more than I see) for padding out a squash match: pin your opponent and then lift his shoulder on the two count and keep recycling the punishment. Possibly not applicable to the Hurt Syndicate at this stage because, as Jim intimates here, the groundswell of audience support has already elevated them to face status to all intents and purposes.
Hell id go one step further. Have lashley come out, beat mox for the title in under a minute. Just put him in the hurt lock and end it immediately.
I happened be channel surfing and luckily I got to watch the entire match. They got a HUGE pop when they pummeled the kids into a heap.

Yeah Im glad Lashley and Shelton won, but boy that Private Party push fizzled out quick as hell! Now, pivot and have the Hurt Syndicate destroy Dick The Boozer and his gang and become the biggest babyfaces in the company.
It seemed like once PP won the tag titles, AEW just didn’t know what to do with them. I feel like the Bucks were going on hiatus, and probably told Tony “give it to Private Party” who didn’t really have much steam behind them at that point until they worked the Bucks and people remembered they’d been there since day one.
Hurt Syndicate having the titles is a way better move and whoever beats them for the titles is a made team.

You would think Bobby Lashley who has been a world champion everywhere he's been should be in the world title picture. Shelton should have the TNT title and bring some value to it. The tag team division is so lackluster I don't know who they could put them with that's even over enough to want to watch.

FTR are both pretty small compared to Shelton Benjamin and even smaller when compared to Lashley. When Brian says they are "bigger dudes" does he just mean compared to the Young Bucks? FTR is both under 6ft with average physiques, Edge/Cope looks like Kevin Nash in his prime next to them

Hounds of He'll, Gates of Agony, Callis Family, Kenny and the one dude, FTR, Gates of Agony, ... aew has the roster. Just need the booking. Hurt Syndicate is the most dominant... keep it that way for about 6 months then have them finally run into FTR... if FTR can get out of obscurity.
Have them run through smaller teams, out wrestle big teams. Definitely need to remain heel, or turn ftr heel .. organically. Lashley is still a baby face... but, that's how you eventually break them up if you want. I wouldn't.
would love to see whatever Brody and Buddy are now vs the Hurt Syndicate, it's nice to see a power tag team in AEW in lieu of the flippy floppy
To compete with THS u have to put them in feuds against FTR, Buddy & Brody, Morrissey & Morrison, Archer & Fletcher that’ll last all of 2025 and part of 2026 with squash matches against Top Flight, Dork Order and the rest of that division.

@@cnewtoneov the lucha wrestlers are too small, the asian wrestlers outside of Take is too old and the black tag team wrestlers are too small. Hobbs Lethal and Swerve are singles and finding a way to make them team up is too hard for TK.

I'd like to see the hurt syndicate add Powerhouse Hobbs as the 4th member and just collect every belt possible. That would probably be great business for them, but this is AEW we're talking about. So I', just going to enjoy the most over stable with any belts before they inevitably lose to the Bucks or Orange Cassidy and the Jaguars mascot 🤡
It should have been a 3 minute squash with Private Party trying and failing to survive that whole time but at least the right guys went over. Bobby and Shelton are the best thing on AEW Dynamite each week. It's like 2 pro wrestlers have invaded a children's amateur backyard promotion. It's refreshing to see professional wrestlers - guys who look like wrestlers and work like wrestlers - in AEW. Sure they have had guys like Bryan Danielson but in AEW he was mostly doing Indy style garbage matches and trying to put Jungle Boy over which was too painful to watch.
They need to turn them face... I hate to play Booker but I would have the Callis Family attack The Syndicate... Cage and Archer then there you go instant babyfaces... Then possibly down the line you could probably do the Callis Family vs The Syndicate, Ospreay and Omega... You're 4 biggest babyfaces all in 1 match
