    The old ones at some hotels have a traditional open coil.system with a border rod instead of individually wrapped coils

    I bought this mattress without box spring to save money and boy is it hard. Not soft like ones at hotel. I am sleeping on the floor with it but am wondering if the box spring would make it more comfortable.
    I do have 2 mattress covers on.

    I loved my Heavenly Bed and am regretting I didn't stay with what I knew. I bought a Berkley Berlin bed, Talalay latex mattress with a French sheep wool cover. Sounds great, right. It is too firm. Now the company suggests I buy a topper with another layer of foam or a pure wool topper to get the cloud effect I had with my Heavenly Bed. So this is getting to $3,000 for this mattress. Another site I researched too late said, "Do you want to sleep in your bed or on your bed?" I want to sleep IN my bed and I got that with the Heavenly Bed. Big regrets, stuck with an expensive mattress.

    Basic coil spring mattress with simple foam materials. Might as well buy the cheapest plush to medium firm pillowtop Beautyrest mattress that can be had at a very modest price, and buy the Westin beddings set to get the same feel.

      these are not the same mattresses as used in the hotels......no hotel owner would buy this garbage

  • @arlofs
    @arlofs ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I’m almost 100% sure this is not the same bed used in Westin Hotels. Beds sold by hotels or with tags indicating it’s a “hotel bed” are usually not the ones found in hotel rooms. In this particular case, the biggest clues are the one-sided construction as well as the pocket springs. For durability, hotels use 2-sided, continuous coil mattresses.

      It's just a Westin branded low end Simmons Beautyrest mattress at the end of the day.

    • @deepsoulfulsounds
      @deepsoulfulsounds 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Matthew Thomas-erwin If you're comfortable with buying online, I've heard great things about Saatva and Wink Beds. I would go for either one of these brands but they don't deliver to Canada, unfortunately. In Canada we have Logan & Cove which looks somewhat comparable. The big mattress brands make some good mattresses too. The deeper the depth of the mattress, the more comfort layers it tends to have. Flagship mattresses can be as deep as 17" or deeper.

    • @deepsoulfulsounds
      @deepsoulfulsounds 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Matthew Thomas-erwinTotally worth the splurge! For online beds, I would buy a Wink Bed in a heartbeat based on the reviews alone. Saatva is the original premium online mattress and Wink is a relative newcomer. For big name mattresses, I would buy the best Simmons Beautyrest or Sterns & Foster bed within budget. The flagship 17" Beautyrest mattresses are so comfortable. I almost bought one years ago. The style and construction of the 17" Sterns and Foster beds look amazing and they're also super comfortable. All spring mattresses are prone to sagging so I would personally go for something slighter firmer and break it in, or even buy a mattress intended for very large people. If you get aches and pains, better to go for the comfort level needed and deal with the sagging. RIZ KNOWS, Mattress Clarity, The Slumber Yard, Our Sleep Guide, Sleepopolis and GoodBed are great TH-cam channels with bed reviews that I enjoy watching. I recommend checking some out.

    I love the soft feel of this mattress. My concern after watching this video is shelf life. What mattress do you offer that will be just as comfortable if not more and last longer as well?
    Cheers

      Most mattresses don't last as long as they should because people don't take care of them properly.
      When you buy a new mattress you should completely spray all sides with permethrin (pesticide for clothing), to protect against dust mites. Then after the spray is dried put on a good waterproof mattress pad cover with a cotton soft feeling top. And every 3 months rotate the mattress side to side and then flip it and side to side as most manufactures advise. Then, at least once a year vacuum the entire mattress removing dust, dead dust mites etc, and reapply the permethrin.
      What destroys mattresses is dust mites and not rotating the mattress. It's like having a sofa and not cleaning it or flipping the cushions. Mattresses can last 10+ years easy if properly taken care of.

      Now I’m disappointed. I just moved long distance & after 32 years on a waterbed, the movers completely destroyed my bed, frame, pedestal & headboard (ABC MoversLLC Hawthorne NJ….stay away if you value your furniture) forcing me to get a regular bed. Waterbeds like I had are no longer made. Having stayed at The Westin many many times, their beds are the only ones that didn’t leave me in agony in the morning. My waterbed mattress would last 10 years before I’d have to replace it. Heavenly bed, not so sure now & they’re about $1,450 for king size. Not happy at the thought if having to replace that every 5 years.

    WESTIN HEAVENLY BED twin size is only $971, box spring $101 now. Not bad compared to a lot of other name brands, but no info about the inside of the mattress on their web site. Maybe there is not much to say about its construction. With that price, this mattress definitely does not fall into any lux category. It would've been good if Pablo could open it up more and show a much closer look at the whole coil system. It's not hard to imagine hotels mattresses are aiming for plush, softness and no sagging. So, low cost and can be replaced every couple of years make a lot of sense in this industry but not for common households.
