13:26 my first games of undead that I remember (I was maybe 8-11), I would build buildings as far away from each other as possible, even waiting for them to finish to build further away, because i wanted the option to build other buildings wherever i want.
Sort of like Creep spreading in StarCraft 2 (you could also do it in StarCraft 1, but it didn't help). Too bad Undead doesn't have any mobile unit that can continuously poop Blight (Hero with Sacrificial Skull just does it once per significant amount of Gold).
@Moohy Punter I saw that, but this depends upon the situation: In a challenge, he can afford to spend on this, but if up against a near-equal opponent (or in a challenge gone wrong), that Gold adds up (remember that it isn't just 50 -- if you are doing it multiple times, that amounts to significantly fewer units in a given time). So I should have worded my above post differently: Once for 50 Gold isn't significant (but in corner cases it could be), but if you are trying to make a large area of Blight, it does become significant.
walkers dispelling beetles is one of the most satisfying things to watch.. great games. Grubby always rising above the toxic goobers with class and a bit of humor 💪

Hey Grubby, that thing you did there at 4:00 (I'm assuming you were hammering on the 'S' key to do some animation cancelling in order to last hit against that guy) - do it in Dota aswell! It's a great way to learn the backswing of each hero's attack animation, and it will give you some agency over when the attack lands/the projectile goes out (the latter for ranged heroes, ofc). I had a thought - maybe, when playing Dota, your brain (that is so super used to playing WC3) is still in the mode 'I have a lot of units and buildings to manage in different locations all across the map, so I'm not gonna spend too much energy on micro managing that one unit in that one screen'. It seems like your APM is relatively low in Dota (obviously, you're just learning the game from scratch, and we both know it has an absurdly steep learning curve, and a gazillion things to process...). I'm just saying, maybe a slight shift in mindset can help you improve faster - just use all that focus and energy you would normally 'spread out' across all your units (when playing WC3) on that one hero instead. It's like fast-teching with BM or FS, no rax, and harassing OP constantly, trying to steal their creep kills/lasthits and generally just putting a lot of focus on microing that one individual unit. Best of luck!

In cs flaming is more like banter, people can take it and try to be more funny than insulting, like back in the good old days. In dota there's someone screaming death and cancer to your whole family every match.

Once i played the old Lost Temple map alone just to cover it all with blight :)
