    Just graduated with a degree in Japanese, the button at 4:43 says 交通情報 (こうつうじょうほう) meaning "traffic report". Common feature in Japanese cars of the era, it would tune you directly to the local traffic report station that you'd preset on the head unit. Was useful for people running on tight deadlines so they could know where the traffic was in an instant

      @brdllc ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s so cool, we have to go back. I’m tired of flat screens and the latest redundant tech being the new “features”

      @@brdllc Ikr, can't stand it either. I still insist we went wrong by abandoning carbies and mechanical diesel pumps for EFI. Took the ability to work on your car away from even very handy people, and made working on cars an expensive nightmare for mechanics

    Traffic information the button said.
    It is used to listen the traffic radio station that broadcast on AM frequency.

    I absolutely love this car because it's innovation, especially with the XF20 model I really want one so bad

    Today at work I was talking with a coworker that used to kive in Japan and couldn't bring his car back to the states due to whatever import restrictions are in place. His car was a Skyline, not one of these, but still in the same subject... And then on the way home from work I was parked next to one of these at a stoplight today and my first thought was, "wait a minute look at that right hand drive car. What IS this thing?"

    The seats are pure wool, not cloth. This is to stop squeaks from the leather. I love mine. Hello from Ireland.

    No UK cars have indicators/turn signals on the right... its a JDM/Korean thing... it spins us out just as much putting the wipers on instead 😂

    • @markhealey9409
      @markhealey9409 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes,this is true of UK/Ireland cars in the past 4 or 5 decades,w/ the turn signals on the left on our right hand drive cars....but they the stalks on our right hand drive cars were mostly on the right,until the 1970s,when they started to put them on the left...EXCEPT for some Japanese right hand drive cars in UK/Ireland,which still quite often had them on the right.. I had a friend with a late 80s,or maybe early 90s Mazda 626 here in England,which I borrowed a few times,& I kept putting the wipers on,by mistake! 🤣🤣

    • @markhealey9409
      @markhealey9409 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But Korea has left hand drive cars,& drive on the right,not left.

    “This is not a powerhouse of an engine...ummm did you know the block of the 1uz-fe engine come forged from the factory and it is said that the block hold up to 800hp like nothing.

      Yes,they have been since the 1970s,but they were on the right on British built rhd vehicles,before the 70s...except for some Japanese cars,well into the 80,s,& maybe even early 90s.

    any celsior users out there can comment on any electrical issues ( faulty ECUs, leaking capacitors etc ) ....
    Are these really as common as people out there seem to state ?
    And if yes, any comments on how difficult it is to do diagnostics, replacing ( ECUs or capacitors ) ?
    I really like the vehicle but my biggest fear is that electrical issues ( from what i've read on the web ) are very very common
    on Celsiors and can make the ownership a miserable experience.
    I've read people had all sorts of issues due to electronics failing: ACs not working, window regulators, throttle response, air valves and what not, transmission acting funny to
    vehicles just not starting all together ....

    • @jimzangora
      @jimzangora 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My celsior is so easily maintainable, if you want OEM lexus parts, its only Lexus expensive prices, and it's not 'expensive.' I can get them at the my dealership. The points in this video are on point.
