Yes sir! These are exercises I do before I even get out of bed in the morning. ;-) I'm 71 this year, and body awareness in very important for all. Thanks Cali, I will try these the next time I ride.. Be well...
I appreciate the notion of gentle stretching as a means to get a feel for proper position. I’ll try the stretches for sure since my shoulders and leg can come forward especially in jumps. Another simple movement I do is just give my jaw a little wiggle sideways a couple times as I get to the trot and canter. It reminds me to loosen my facial and neck muscles which reminds me to stay softened overall.
ThanksCallie! Another great video. I justrecently signed my first partial lease on a horse, so have the opportunity to ride on my own outside lessons. I have found so many great tips for organizing my rides and warming up through your channel. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
Windmill movements with your arms to warm up back and arm muscles. Large circles along side of horse and then cross arms in front of you to stretch out back muscles. Just to loosen muscles.
These we’re really great! I usually don’t have anything to do while I’m waiting for everyone else to mount and my horse gets insanely bored, these will be great for both of us. He hates it when I just sit there but he finds it interesting when I fix my posture or stirrups.
I circle my shoulders up, back, down and around, do poll and tail touches, gentle seated twists (like in yoga, but in the saddle), and reach up an arm and bend to side (like in yoga). (Luckily, my horse usually endures all of this while quietly and steadily walking around the arena... haha!

I have trouble with keeping my legs forward. I tend to let them go too far back, especially in the canter. Do you have any advice?
This isnt exsactly an enjoyable warm up but my instructor has me stays in two point for like 10 MINUTS XD its effective tho.
