I love, poached eggs on bread. When I was a sprocket during the nineteen sixties we lived in the country and were poor as Church Mice, particularly after the old man shot through. Mum raised us three kids on her own and If we got crook she used to make 'coddled eggs' for us. For those who may not be familiar with the dish, it is poached egg mixed up with bread cubes....brings back memories! Talk about gilding the lily with a side of baked beans though! Mmmm
Mango Ice cream, thanks for that memory... That reminds me of my time in Philippines, 1992, where I was introduced to green mango chips in a spicy dip, yes, unripe mango sliced into long thin chips, with a little baggie of dipping spices, this on the mountans I was working, (telercoms)
I'm new to your channel and one thing i have to say is I really like that you added maps to your video! So many of the other sailing video's never show where they are and I wish they would. Thank you so much for your time and effort, it like being out there again.
Especially when you consider the condition of Nutshell that Magnus and Wendy started out with! Truly an amazing story and adventure. If you came into their story in the middle you should really go back to their first day aboard to see the amazing progress the both of them have made to Nutshell!
Magnus just doesn't look as good in a bikini anymore. That is really all most of the subscribers are interested in these days. Maybe with a shave and a nice current two piece from Ralph Lauren, then he could quadruple the viewership.
@@allynonderdonk7577 I would much rather watch these two over any of the titty sailing videos!! Here you see real sailing and scenery, there you see skin and then more skin. Not interested. And how many of those millennials could possible rebuild most of the boat with a multi tool and a sewing machine? All with a good sense of humor and no foul language.
@@rickf5615 Of course there are some younger folks made out of the same cloth, but most of the viewership on this platform is driven by flesh peddling. Sad isn't it?
Wow those currents were all over the place I'm never gonna complain about the Trent again. Your patience paid off well done guys. You'd need a beer or two after that. Cheers.
Congratulations on a sail well done. Hope you’re enjoying the atolls and savoring some of the most beautiful places and friendliest people on earth. Getting there is an adrenaline rush for sure.
Bugger me! I felt every minute getting through that reef, well done Magnus and Wendie's sunglasses. Do you have another Kellick you can put down Magnus, seeing as how you are on sand?
Nicely done, glad you made it. It's amazing how hairy moving at under 10 knots can be, it sounds so slow and relaxing. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Magnus and Wendy, love your videos! Just a tip when drilling brass... a couple of swipes across the cutting edges of the drill bit with a stone to dull it slightly, and it wont "grab".
Bloody hell, I was on edge of seat. I can only imagine how that felt being aboard. It’s at times like that you feel most alive. Fair play for keeping it together tho. That’ll be a memory you’ll both remember. I have no idea why you don’t have at LEAST ten times the amount of subscribers.
Hi Mark. It was a scary time. Not knowing how to read the sea and never having done a pass made it trickier. We are now more experienced at passes and on reflection, that one was a pretty dodgy one in those weather conditions. W.
I've also been keenly watching adventures of a sea dog and think he's just visited naku hiva. Had a bit of a nightmare getting in though. I could be wrong. I'm sure I saw nb nutshell pass our marina on the Soar last week. Must be a very distant memory for you both now.
I used to deal with current like that , with a dingy and or Kayak but I wouldn't have a clue with a sailing boat. Other than the fact that you have no control if going bow first with the current. Its a very different method of controlling your position. You set up the boat so the current slides off the side and it pushes the boat across. Too much and it makes the boat jibe, very dangerous for a sail boat.
Ooh Wendy, you gotta drain all that excess liquid out of the baked beans before you add the beans to the eggs for a 'big' breakfast, which normally entails also having sausages, bacon, tomato, and a hash brown. Anyway, all the best with your adventures.
Hi Nijel. I think you are right. We bought a different brand of baked beans and there was a lot of liquid! I now drain most of it out before I heat them up! W.
Magnus on an adrenaline high and Wendy calm as a cucumber. They say "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing", they also say "ignorance is bliss". Great job guys, loved it. Oh and Magnus, you need to work on your 'foot clamping' technique - between you, me (and probably Chris [from Chris and Shell]) we are giving Darwin a run for his money - lol
Couldn't help but notice you have quite some bananas on board. I learned in the Navy (US) that having bananas on board would lead to bad luck . Is this just nautical superstition worldwide or is there more to it?
There are old sailors and bold sailors; not many old bold sailors. Do not push your luck and plan for worst contingency always. Lot of virtue in a sea anchor (drogue) and deep water and being hove to. Glad you had no incident.
If you had a dead cat for your mic, you Wouldn’t have to write on the bottom of the screen 📺 For us to hear you... you Can’t read the bottom AND watch the screen too...!! plus that, the writing ✍️ Is not up long enough to read the whole thing before it changes, SO you end up MISSING BOTH 😱😳😫🤭🤔

2 years. 152 videos. And only 8K subs. =( Must be something wrong with TH-cam! Ppl are missing out on an epic adventure.

Sometimes helps to chamfer in reverse to eliminate the bit grabbing.

Lovely music and high jinx on the seas. Wonderful!
Thanks Amy. W.
Wow. Didnt even get to see the beautiful surroundings.
Was that 14300 USB I heard
Wonderful video! Enjoy following the incredible adventure
Thanks Sonny. Glad to have you along. W.

Some confused looking water there. Nice pics of the swirling tides. You two dealt with it like champs.
Like coming frew the Tory channel in the Cook strait , well done - Cruising = no such thing as a time line , fair winds .

Pomplemousse AKA pomelo, lovely fruit, got two trees planted last year.
They are certainly delicious. W.
Just looking at the total... Missed the con grats on the one fifty.. well done..
Excellent vid ya'll.
Thank you. W.

Great watching, as always
I might have missed it but what is your trade mate? You seem to be good at everything..
I’m a Radio Communications Technician by trade but I just love fixing stuff.
@@LifeinaNutshell nice, I can tell haha, keep up the good work it's always interesting watching you do maintenance and housekeepings.

well done guys ---
Just think of how fast you will be moving on the way out of there!
That's a good first line for a limerick, Three Noggies, a Froggie, and an Aussie.
After that scare are you kids thinking about going back to your canal boat and tea and biscuits ? LOL GOOD JOB...........
Was that Isuzu running on all four pots? It sounded a bit like it had a leg out of bed!
She runs a bit rough sometimes.
Couldn't help but notice you have quite some bananas on board. I learned in the Navy (US) that having bananas on board would lead to bad luck . Is this just nautical superstition worldwide or is there more to it?
I gave up on that superstition after a while as i really like bananas.
Cheers
Here's a bit of 'FROGGIE' for you, pamplemousse is 🐸 for 🍇 fruit.
... oops, drilled a hole into my deck. I thought a 0.25mm thick plastic dust pan would stop it.
Jeez, a Vlog without a Beer.!.
Incontinent dinghy. :D

Epic!!
Hey Mag old sea dog has come to grief again either he is the unluckiest sailor in the world or the worst
Well, if you sail near rocks your engine quits, happens to everybody ...
I think he does well considering he is single handed
So good to see that you are wearing inflatable life jackets!
That's a good idea for others who may take the adventure. Google earth 👍🏻

Nice Channel,
But please dont thank anyone for Google.
The video is way too long to watch. Did they really abort? Or was it click-bait?
Yup. We aborted. We had to wait a while longer to make a second attempt at the pass when the currents had settled a bit. W.
:)
