Isn't the speaker supposed to go in front of the baffle (mount from the front)? The T-nuts are installed in such a way that they expected the speaker to go in front. Then, the length of the screw is not a problem.
I have this cab with an Eminence DV77 , but I don't like the fact it's open back. So I'm planning to get some wood saw to match the hole size and fill it.
Dale Dickerson your right he mounted the speaker wrong. It mounts from the other side of the cabinet on the front not from the inside of the cabinett!!!! !!
Dale Dickerson Hey, Dale, you speak with a voice of experience. I’m a very experienced woodworker - was a general building contractor for nearly thirty years in California - and I have all of the tools and experience that are required to do this with precision. Thing is, I’ve never built a speaker cab before, and I have a G12T-75 (from Ipswich, not China,) and it’s perfect, yet homeless. So. I have a new amp head that’s looking for a mate, and that’s where you come in. I’ve solved most of the question already, but would love to hear any insights you may have concerning possible mistakes or pitfalls, such as mounting the speaker on the front of the panel. So even with decent 3/4” birch ply, the t-nuts will work themselves out? Jeez, guy, the head is a DSL-1, so it’s not going to experience arena-level volumes. Also, if they’ll vibrate out when front- mounted, why will they not vibrate out when rear-mounted? Please understand that I am in no way judging, I am simply trying to learn as much as I can from folks who’ve done this before. I’m excited about this, and anything you have to add in addition to your original post would be greatly appreciated. I thank you, sir.
I have the orange 2x12 i loaded with Jensens, otherwise exactly like that, after about 7 years of being in my rotation (so gigged 8-10 times a year) it's still great. there are a few spots where I had to re-glue Rolex edges, but that's it. GREAT deal direct from Seismic.
👍Nice score on that vintage 30, my son got a 4x12 Vintage 30's cab at a pawn shop for $120. SEISMIC Audio has some inexpensive empty cabs in cool colors.
I just bought the same brand/color 2x12 yesterday on amazon for 140 shipped. I was pricing building a cab and could not do it for that cheap! I looked today and they are back to 400 and change.
Hey JAMMAN, really enjoy your videos. I notice you pair up the OR15 with a variety of cabs and speakers (greenback, vintage 30, etc). Which speaker is your favorite with that amp for low to medium gain classic rock?
Not $75 any more they want a lot of money for the seizemic empty cabs better off getting the 212 200 watts $209 412 400 watts $330 with 12 inch speakers I was just looking at the seizemic cabs with speakers seriously great price Walmart has a seizemic 212 cab empty $130 I just seen it

Can be either way

Your speaker mounts from the front!!!!! the tee nuts will fall out and so with your speaker .

@@lpaudiolive Indeed it is a front loader. Which also explains the bigger hole in the speaker frame and why you pull the speaker cloth off.
Tx for that
Wow! If I could only be so lucky. That sounds really great.
The price of that cab DOUBLED since this video was posted !

Pronounced "Size-Mick" Like earthquake/tectonic plate activity.
they intend for you to front mount with these... that is why the screw length is so long and such.. I also went ahead and rear mounted mine.
Great score!!
Nice cabinet, but the T-nuts are in backwards, T flange goes on opposite side to keep them from pulling out :)
the speaker is supposed to mount from the front, that's why the t-nuts are on the back.
