- I honestly have to say that skating in Riders Republic is better than I hoped it would be. It may be very arcady and easy to do insane stuff, but the animations and the flow of the game make everything extremely satisfying to do!

Crazy enough, some of the assets used for this dlc were salvaged from the old Shaun white skateboarding game (both made by Ubisoft)
Session devs - take note on some fluid pushing animations. Desperately need an update with some board throwing down animations too!
If they change the first person camera to look down just a little further or a feature where you could somehow look directions it would be 🔥
Going from Session to this has made it really hard for me to like it as much as I would have 2 years ago. It just feels so easy in comparison...It's like Tony Hawk and Skate were melded together. lol

been enjoying the beta and having fun with the full release. finding spots to do tricks is fun as well with the amount of mobility options.
Dude that grind at 1:55 was EPIC! I'm definitely dropping the $25 on the DLC, I don't even care. Money is money, and this looks FUN.

Riders Republic has that Tony Hawk feel to the tricks, but something closer to the Skate feel of the inputs. It's a good mix.
One thing I will give ubisoft, they seem to be really good at using mo-cap and creating fluid natural animations.
Physics based game will always be superior and more natural to animated games, but its way harder to develope game with lots of eye melting physics...so lot of studios just use mo cap animations but for some realistic sports games it dosent work as good as physics based gameplay

the animations go crazy and the graphics has every other skate game beat but sessions is the most realistic to me still
I hope animation teams take notes on those sketchy landings

For some reason the way the skater skates and moves and grinds reminds me of the old school thrasher game
what controls are u using ? still the normal pressing R2 and then using left trigger for the tricks ?
Honestly I’ve been playing a lot since it came out yesterday. It’s soo good. Even the vert and transition skating looks great. It’s a bit arcady, but you can still get some great realistic lines. Just like how skate 3 was

Took me a day to get used to the controls skating session everyday but omg insane game insane open world map so much good stuff to skate loving this game atm
Riders republic is solidifying itself as arguably the best biking/snowboard/wingsuit/skateboarding game. It features multiple sports, for the price of one, that's a hell of a deal. Obviously this excludes the skateboard DLC.

What do you prefer, late flips or shoves? I can't do neither and probably will never achieve in my skate life.😫
I have done a couple of late shovs, bs and fs, but never really my thing. I have never done an ollie trick to late flip, but a couple of shuv late flips which are fun and impossible late flip, but late stuff is not my strong side in skating xD I spent days trying to land my first late variation

Honestly they've done a solis job with the skateboarding. Needs some tweaks here and there but they did good
I wish ubisoft would take their animation skills and really go all out on a realistic skating game. Physics simulation doesn't really seem like a ubisoft strong point though but who knows.
I agree! I miss that in most newer games, things lack weight. Ubisoft has made improvements with The Crew Motorfest, the car feels nice and heavy…

I've reached the same conclusion with riders republic... The animation is so good that makes the controls less shitty...
They should remove the sparks when you grind... Looks silly.

I am happy for all people to be able to enjoy any Skating game or game with Skateboarding in it, but for me it is almost unplayable. I do not want to learn a 4th control scheme and as someone who has Skated for 25yrs these controls are not at all intuitive so why should I over Session, even to unwind for fun?
It just would have been cool to have an option for similar controls to Session or SXL, it is likely only a few thousand players but still, I and everyone I know in the "community" think this is missed potential and opportunity. that is Ubisofts MO in many cases though..
It is cool for Skate 3 kids and kidults that are gamers more than they are Skaters or maybe Skaters that prefer legacy controls. No hate to anyone, just feedback and sad to feel it has so much potential as a go to for when Session is just to close to real life and you don't want to try the same trick for 3hrs.
I hope it makes Riders Republic bigger and people enjoy it, I also wish that I and the people I know, could enjoy it too.

Please understand that this is a game that was born from the arcade from its starting point until now, do not bother to criticize the game that is not realistic since their edge is the arcade for that we have the skater xl which has the best simulator so far. but in this game they can make it realistic if you handle the controls very well and I have a video of what it looks like trying to achieve realism, to a certain point the graphics and gameplay are pleasant. It is totally different from skater xl and session since other buttons are used.

i think this animation overall have to polish or add more details , in the flip tricks its very good the animations but some positions or navegate, miss some frames. i dont kwow but visualy i feel this when i look to the game.
