100% agree I can NOT put into words or numbers how much I hate the cringy "tism" thing I dont get it. Literally go out into the real world and talk to real people, whatever they think autism is thats not it. Its not "quirky", its not he has a hobby and faced with the real symptoms they wouldn't understand how to show compassion probably just get pissed off.
I mean it’s never been great but I feel like recently there’s been so much more distain and hatred towards autistic people for no reason (not that there would ever be a valid reason). Like it was really REALLY bad earlier on the internet, then I feel like people realized that using autism or Down syndrome or other disabilities as a punchline or like babying them and treating them not like real people with thoughts and feelings is ableist and weird, but then now I feel like we’re dipping back down and like I just don’t understand it😭 I thought we were getting better,,, guess not😭 maybe it was always this bad and I just didn’t personally see it but it’s just so disheartening :(
Don’t even get me STARTED on when they took our “I think I’m acoustic” saying and turned it into that ableist “is it acoustic” / “is it restarted” (yes I’ve seen that one too 😭) thing. And from what Ive seen they only say it when someone is being “cringe” or “weird” to them, probably because that’s all they see autistic people as. :(.

Absolutely! I’m medically diagnosed with autism and every time I see that, or “self diagnosed autism just cause I think it’s quirky” I want to punch my screen. And I don’t actually have tik-tok, I just see clips on other places! And honestly, I’m not against self diagnosis, the process to get diagnosed takes years and it’s quicker and easier to just say you are if you’ve genuinely got the symptoms. My siblings are self diagnosed (or rather the family diagnosed them) because they share a lot of the symptoms as me, but the whole tik-tok trend of it has made the whole thing lose its meaning. And honestly, I’d rather if you were just openly ableist than have to put up with that.

Can confirm with izubelle - sometimes it’s to keep yourself tagged so you can learn the solution, or elsewise it’s to reiterate that there is indeed an issue which may need resolved (whereas if one person had the issue and that was all, it may seem like a one off complication).
Typically when I’m following suit I’ll say something along the lines of “replying to get notifs. Experiencing the same problem myself and any assistance would be appreciated” to emphasize my purpose, but I’m also a fretful sort and overexplain when none is necessary lolol
Even worse if theres a fight under the replies you gotta scroll down 40 paragraphs of people cussing eachother out on the internet just to not get an answer

The phrase 'neurospicy' is an inside joke in the autism community, basically a lot of doctors try to apply labels such as "high-functioning" vs "low-functioning," and "mild" vs "severe," but these labels are pretty asinine, so someone made the joke "mild autism? Mines spicy habanero!" And others chimed in with what "flavor" their autism was. So it is cringe if you don't know what it's referencing but in reality it's just a big ole inside joke lol

You're so right about how people are making fun of lisps. I absolutely HATED when people would impersonate what they describe being like the "nerd emoji" and it's just having a lisp. Sure, that's how shows/movies/games would often portray a nerd character but the fact people don't think using a lisp to make fun of someone is at least a LITTLE shitty is bothersome.

This game is why I have an obsessive hyper fixation to frost a cupcake in a perfect spiral every time I make cupcakes even if it’s inconvenient, a waste of frosting, and it usually just looks like a poop emoji in the end anyway lolol. I'm pretty sure on the build you have to do it in order. Like you have to complete the first cupcake and then move to the second one. You also have to put the toppings in order so if theres 3 cherries you have to go left to right.
